  • "Eric Harden" is a made-up name of Lindström's "Gloria" label, used for dance band conductors - sometimes for Dobrindt, sometimes for Fred Bird (F. Lehmann) - and maybe some others. For wind orchestras, "Gloria" used the name "Hermann Turner" (Carl Woitschach, Friedrich Ahlers). Many of recorings published under these names and under new Gloria's "Bi" matrix numbers were originally "Parlophon", or "Beka" recordings...

  • ...This particular track is very likely "Parlophon" recording (original mx. 128137, "Parlophon-Orchester, Gesang: John Hendrik"); perhaps one of the viewers has original record, so he/she could easily compare. "Eric Harden" in this case could indeed be Dobrindt, but I can't claim it at the moment. As soon as I find out, I'll post the update.

    Cheers,

  • Oh, these posters just ooze of glamor and luxury! With the tango in the background we're transferred to this world for delightful three minutes.

  • I love this melody in all its many versions. Shall we go to "La Plage de Monte Carlo?" I think not, it's too decadent for my taste. Et

    vous?

  • Nicely done! Thank you, 5 stars!

  • Grzegorz, Congratulations! Your 600th presentation is splendid. I love the tango and the superb ultra-sophisticated posters. I love everyone of them, they are absolutely fabulous and they all capture the essence of Monte Carlo. Merci.
