The coilover has adjustable dampening - bound/rebound ( 2 way adjustable) and because not all coilovers/shock absorbers are linear ie: progressive/digressive rate, on a shock dyno these units will show a curve which is the "dampening curve".
@ekcoupe756 lowering springs arent for racing, its for noobs who just want people to think they have a car for racing. if your buying "sport" shocks for only 300 dollars.....no they wont do shit. i put $1,700 Tein adj coilovers with camber adj in my car. and that wasnt even their most expensive. their just for track and street. if your going to buy suspension for your car, you need to do it right. its going to be expensive.
@Merts478 Tein all the way...make sure you buy coilovers that come with adj camber too. little bit more dough...but its needed. its not that much more money. but like i said. NEEDED
Lol just hearing him say hitting pot holes he doesn't even feel it makes me want them now lol my 94 accord was lowered by the previous owner and the ride is so damn bumpy!
@gdp505 no the reason for separate height adjustment is to ensure that you have full suspension stroke/travel no matter what the ride height is. If you didn't have that like on the first setup he showed, then you will lose suspension travel as soon as you start to lower. If you run out of travel (when you hit a bump for instance) you can damage the unit as well has have reduced handling problems. If you do not get carried away you can do either, but not large drops on setup 1.
I have a question about the coilover spring.....I have a 2000 honda civic and I bought those coilover and two of the springs are short and the other two are longer and which are the front and rear?
ya TEIN offers those, it doesnt adjust ride height but it adjusts damping force. U have to buy a coilover that is compatible with their EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller). Then you have to buy the EDFC itself. So ur in the car and u can adjust the damping force like u would tune a radio
so in order to make your suspensions stiff or tite with the pro S you would have to drop the car in order for there to be any tension on the springs.. but if you have the pro C's you can adjust the stiffness of the springs and have ur car dropped or not right??
Can you adjust the ride height and dampening while it's installed on the car?
