Yes he warned us to follow the lost sects, and he ordered us stick to his sunnah and the chaliphs sunnah, that is what the salaf is on. Follow the salaf and you will follow the Prophet.

I understand... you are against madhabs and so called sects.... no problem... where do you get your knowledge???? madhabs makes things much easear for us unknowledge ppl. what do you say about those who call them selfs muslims and drink, or those who dosent pray, or those who makes shirk, its very important to know what kind of islam you follow and loud and clear not agree with those things that ppl do in the name of islam. to say stand against those who created a new religion an say its islam.

I dont know if you heard somthing about the 4 big madhabs in islam...Maliki, Shafii, Hanafi and Hanbali, they all relies on the salaf... May Allah guide us to follow the pure islam that Allah gave us trough the Prophet(pbuh.

The word salaf is mentioned in the Qur'an in the following verses:

"Tell those who disbelieve that if they cease (from persecution of believers) that which is past (salafa) will be forgiven them; but if they return (thereto) then the example of the men of old hath already gone (before them, for a warning). And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for God. But if they cease, then lo! God is Seer of what they do." (8:38-39)

The reason that the Prophet (pbuh) and his companion didnt say suni, shia, salafi, rafidi i because there were only the sunnah, but these days there are a lot of sect that call them self muslim and that they follow the sunnah but they aint doing none of it... its very important to say who you are and who you follow, not like those who prays at day and dinks at night and call them self muslim, ...Quran and sunnah according to the sallaf of the ummah, the pure islam that the Prophet(pbuh)gave us

Stick to the aathaar of those who have preceded (man salaf), even if the people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men, even if they beautify it for you with speech. So the affair is young and you are upon a Straight Path with regards to it. Whoever deviates from the Madhhab and Tafseer of the Sahaaba and Tabieen to that which opposes it then he has erred in that rather (he has) innovated."

"The Prophet (pbuh) said, 'The best people are those living in my generation, then those coming after them, and then those coming after (the second generation)." It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islaam. The first, the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam & his Sahaabah (companions). The second, the Taabi'een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Tabaa'at-Taabi'een (the followers of the followers of the companions). Its an hounor to follow the Salaf.
