    so its pulled up...

  • This is fake!

You can see the cable witch is uesed to pull the car up...

Its not riding by itself !!!

  • @Stukkes84 i see the cable...but this is real :) the cable is only for saftye...that carr wil not gow down when it stops :) sory for ma bad englis..im from Slovakia.

  • is this worth it for a 1st car? 1 sitting in the basement, may need new roof panel inside and lil parts of the interior but still cheaper than a car.

  • The same ski jump that was used in the 2005 "25 years of Quattro" commercial

  • I had the immense pleasure of owning an Audi 90 quattro - 1985 model (for 10 years) and it was just fabulous. Several times I had to weave around brand new BMW's, SAAB's, Mercedes, Range Rover, etc in the snow. Best car I ever owned and I have always regretted the day I let it go. It was for a 100 quattro but still, I loved that Audi.

  • I had this car. I loved it...

  • @FiatCento what do you mean had?!?! you sold it!?!?

  • 5 people tried that...

  • well...watch the new version without the cable then...

    watch?v=25u80sQkkkM&feature=relmfu

  • The rope's obviously a safety, considering that this has been repeated recently. If the car drifted off it's straight path, it might have lost traction, endangering the driver. I wouldn't like to do that without a safety rope, just the same as I wouldn't climb a sheer rock face without a harness/lines.

  • On this they did but they went back and did the test without the cables and the a6 could do it

  • everyone who says this is a fake shows that he has no sense for physics !!! If you tow a car the rope is stretched , in this case where the winch or the pullye ( dont know if this is the right word ) is so high over the car ( top of the ski jump ) tho rope would be high in the air , so al who claim this as a fake only show they dont use there brain ...

  • @Quattroowner hey smartiepants, look under the car when it starts rolling and ull see its beign pulled by something....now its ur turn to use ur brain

  • @Talbot305 Ok , a last time for the stupid .... You pointing to 0:41 . The car is an the lower end of the ski jump , the ski jump has a side profile like a hockey stick . If you set a modellcar on the lower tip of that hockey stick conect a string to it and let the other end of the string go over a roll on the upper end of the hockey stick . The string is lyining on the ground , if you start to pull the string becomes tensioned and forms a straight line between the roller and the car .

  • @Quattroowner And it forms this line in the air , the string gets up in the air on the hole lenght , not like here where the rope is lifted direct in front of the car . Your post shows only that you are unable to use your brain or you simply dont want to believe it !!!!

  • @Quattroowner why do u limit the posibilities to just a fuckin rope and the car being pulled by it...it can be done on so many various ways dude, why just a rope...it could be a complex mechanism underneath the ramp that has been specially prepared for this event...think outside the box

  • @Talbot305 No its simply you and other people who claim this as a fake . You said the car is pulled , and its not .

  • @Talbot305

    its safety cables....

  • Dobre, samochód makieta a wciąga go linka :D

  • true you can see the cable , but lets be honest , if it would be towing the car up it would be seen very high above the surface , its a safety leach just in case the car slides away ....

  • This song is my jam

  • My balls would runaway if I were a passenger of that car.

  • What's the name of this melody? i like it.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=QQvsPmTwU-A

  • you can see the two cable at 0:40 throwing snow under the car... :\ lame.

  • @thundergod989 safety cable maybe?

  • @thundergod989 that is just for preventing the car to roll back and fly off the ski ramp, as you can see is not tensioned so the car is not puuled by it....

watch carefully next time you cooment something like that....

  • @thundergod989 its safety cables... you think someone will drive that car up there as a test whitout cables ???

  • Ja pierdole, tak jakby nie bylo widac jak ta linka zapierdala po sniegu ciagnac ten samochod ;f

  • audi is still the best in 4-wheel drive because they invented it...

  • AUDI 4 LIFE, German cars's the best !

  • i wonder why everyone thinks its fake!? if u all dont believe me search for wetten dass - audi quattro fährt ski schanze hoch. it was on a tv show showed in reality in 1986! the only extra on the car were studded tires!

  • is it just me or is there a cable under the motor place pulling the car up the ramp? i mean, im an audi fan, and although i think its "fake", its just pure marketing. and it makes a great commercial :P

  • @spikersmusic its there for preventing the car to slide down the track

  • @spikersmusic it isnt, it was actually a guy on a german tv show in 1986 who bet he could drive up a ski slope with his audi quattro. afterwoulds audi was so proud they made a commercial out of it. the tv show is called "wetten dass" and its still on german tv today. no fake here buddy

  • Look at the front center under the Q at :41 - something's pulling it up, like hook, something's up. Either that or the film was reversed, there's no snow being thrown from the rear or all tires.

But today, though, you'd have 3D effects to cover all that up. At least this was an analog real attempt at trickery.

Audi's in my view, especially from the 80's and 90's, just were really boring, dull cars.

  • how is that physically even possible?

  • 4 wheel drive.Thats something,that BMW doesnt have.And that makes Audi better.

  • @Henzzman BMW has 4 wheel drive. It's just got nothing on Audi's :-P

  • wow you americans believe everything you see? theres no fucking way a car get there on its own, seriously. that shit is steep as hell and covered with ice and snow. jesus...

  • @SPLATsaidNUFF it isnt, it was actually a guy on a german tv show in 1986 who bet he could drive up a ski slope with his audi quattro. afterwoulds audi was so proud they made a commercial out of it. the tv show is called "wetten dass" and its still on german tv today. no fake here buddy

  • I remember seeing this CM when traveling West Germany. I was pretty surprised

I am very lucky to see it again.

    Thank you !!!!

  • Audi 4 ever the best car

  • it IS hooked up to a cable but its JUST to keep the car from sliding back down and off the ski jump. just a safety deal.

  • No winch, no ski jump...

  • @mvadinan540 There's indeed a winch hooked up to the car :)

This was only to keep it in place when it was at the top of the jump. In 2005 Audi did this again, maybe you can search for the making of that movie.

  • @vegit0 There was a wicnh in both the old and new ads,, like vegit said so the carwouldn't roll back once it was stopped, but it climbs the jump on its own power, albeit with studded snow tires

  • Comment removed

  • The winch was there to lock the car in place once it reached the top so it would not slide backwards!

  • @mvadinan540

Look at the making of the A6...there's is no winch!!

  • Ööh... yes there is! They even had to use studded rally winter tires, not the road legal ones.

    Still very impressive advertising.

  • I still drive today the same car, built in 1985 and also red. You can go up road on snow savel, where you can not go down save. Incredible grip and lot of fun :-)

  • It remembers me Rocky 4 movie

  • wait, no right side mirror on a mid-high-ish end car like this?

  • I don't know... i had an 1990 Audi 100 CD (not Quattro) and it has mirrors in both sides. It's more, the previous model "100" has two side mirrors too! I'm surprised myself.

  • prosze sie przyjzec widac jak na srodu pod zderzakiem linke widac jak ze sniegu sie wyjawia ale pomysl ok

  • i like the 80s sounding music... especially when the lights go on...

  • try that jump with a honda :P it won't make it 5% of the way up

  • This car really can do this, I watched how this commercial was recorded. Cable is used for safety reasons, if car would stop or start to loose traction something must hold car or else....(imagine)

In both commercial, new and this one special winter tires with spikes are used. No way any car would do this without this kinda tires.

  • They winched it up there with that safety cable.

  • are they gonna stop bull shitting us with thoses safety ropes in the end?

  • Who dirve this car? STIG? ;)

  • I know the name of who drove it up there.

  • my mate has a s2 and it is the baddest thing ever big turbo with 305 bhp 4wd thing is fast spitting flames with quattronics decat pipe popping and banging love it he just sold it though so bit gutted i cant go in it any more he hafd the porsche brake upgrade too which was sweet

  • audi has transformed so much since 1986

  • I have this car an audi 5000 cs turbo the car is amazing. People give these cars a bad wrap because they are hard to work on. But if it has been taken car of it will do 500k easy and run rings around most cars today. It was over designed.

  • my favorite No.1

  • That's the most beautiful jumping hill in the world. Pitkävuori - Kaipola

  • gosh my grandpa now has this car :D

  • Wer im Sommer an den Winter denkt,

    der meistens einen Quattro lenkt

  • maybe the the steel cable was a part of the car equipment??

  • on both ocasions the car climbed the hill on its own. cable was attached for safety and as a way of getting the car down again

  • I'm so surprised how they made a car commercial like this. Their all-wheel-traction is incredible.

  • Vorsprung durch Technik!

  • Both the old and new ads used spikes.

  • I heard they used summer tyres at one try.

  • how did they get it down i my mum and dad had one of these and i thought it was poo! wish i could afford an s3 now though.

  • it was hoisted down using the safety cable attached to the front of the car

  • why'd someone thumbs down you? anyhow, just a note, you can see the cable at 0:41 to 0:45 (tuft of snow in front of car)

  • The cable is used to holt the car on position if it stops. Otherwise it could slide downwards...

  • the cable is just for safety

  • it's hard to pause it on that scene at 0:45

  • spread the word quattro rules
