it works better if you leave it right side up and buy a $12 hose from autozone, and running it from the box to the hole in the wheel hub. i dont have an exhuast either, and i now get about 16 city. 5.8l 94 f150 xlt W/213kmiles.
Your really not getting the full potential out of the intake and exhaust if you don't have the computer in the truck reflashed with a proper tune for more air intake, and the free flowing exhaust, which is probably hurting more than helping.
@chevysb400 You may be right, but since my exhaust is non existent and the o2 sensor doesn't get hot enough to give a proper signal so it runs hellishly rich. So I'm happy with the little boost this mod has given to my mileage. But I picked up this truck for 400 bucks with a blown motor and a fresh motor in the bed. So its a beater for me. I got me $400 of use out of it.
@emh00lah It depends what it runs for sensors and etc. Most computers can't account for increased intake airflow and exhaust velocity, or they can't use it efficiently with the tune the computer receives from the factory, and especially with that old of a truck. Really 99 percent of bolt on mods still need a computer tune to work correctly just because of how the affect the engine
@TealMobile1994 Not that I could tell. but I'm running manifolds to glasspacks dumping under the cab. Shes so loud I can't drive with the windows all the way up with out the cab resonating and giving me a head ache. This video and the exhaust video don't do the exhaust note justice.
lol this is funny but i just call mine the blue truck. 2 tone metallic medium royal blue and it has a purple tint to it in the shade. and the bottom is metallic lapis. 350-375 hp rebuilt 351. never been dynoed so idk for sure but im sure it has at least 330 bhp. these are my favorite trucks ever
@Tjwardx I'm glad that you named your truck. Sounds like you got yourself a very nice looking truck there. These are very good trucks. Call me superstitious but I have named every vehicle I have ever owned. And them 351's are beastly motors. You can make alot of power from a 351. The 351 modifieds and Cleveland's may not make as much peak HP as a Windsor, but they are torque monsters. I would love to build up a Cleveland one of these days. But the family comes first.
@blazerb220 no, its factory. i dont know why ford went with the dual throttle bodies, but they did. i know its a fairly popular upgrade to switch the upper intake manifold and throttle body to the single throttle body set up from a mustang.

But now its running stronger than ever, two thousand was a whole new transmission with a 3 year warranty then the other thousand was a radiator all new brakes and a engine rebuild! @BDavisOutdoors the exhaust was a bit of junk yard engineering. its a old y pipe that we cut up to make it spit into duals. then i slipped about 1 1/2 feet of 2.25 inc piping over it and welded them to the hacked up y pipe. i kept the o2 sensor, but it didnt work too well, it never got hot enough to put out a good signal. then i just sleeved some 2 inch tubing into the glass packs and modified y pipe and butt welded the cherry bombs to her. i did have some more 2.25 exhaust, but it fell off
@BDavisOutdoors oh, and i paid 50 bucks for the 2 cherry bombs, and got the extra y pipe from junk yard for 25 bucks. the exhaust tubing i had laying around.
@moonerdizzle Are they like cherry bomb turbo mufflers or something diffrent? because i love the sound of your truck man i want mine to sound just like it lol.
@BDavisOutdoors they were just cherry bomb glass packs. you can get any glass pack muffler for around 25 to 30 bucks. the turbo mufflers are an actual muffler. glass packs are pretty much just a resonator. word of advice, their technically not legal here in wisconsin. i got the Improper muffler on a vehicle ticket to prove it.

@kingh3mp i hope you get alot of smiles and miles out of your ford, just another tip the didnt make it into the video, is remover the rubber seal on the hood. it allows more air to flow in to the air box. post up a vid of your truck also, i would love to see her.
i dont know, if your intake and air box is close to this then you should, what your trying to do is get the airbox to get as much cold air as it can and remove as many obsticals from the path of the air. more air+colder air= more power and a happier engine
