@lanam1 Research online it has so much stuff on Native American or First Nation peoples that you can find a lot of things or buy or go to your local library to check out books I am always getting books from used books stores about the Plains Native tribes that I belongs to and have several really nice coffee table books they are the ones that are packed full with a lot of history even recipe books of how they used to cook. I am Native American myself so I collect whatever I can
geez when i saw that massacre i got goosebumps...my eyes welled up when i say dr mike break down geez...i cannot believe people actually did this my gosh that soo heartless all for their selfish gain ughhh and again dorothy never ceases to amaze me at her hypocritical ways ... she wanted the indians dead from the beginning now shes "oh so sad and sorry" that they are dead...oh puhleeeeeeassee
This episode has to be the best written, acted and portrayed. Tearjerking all the way. A true education of how bigoted minds and hatred infests society.
But I also want to add that there are also lighter and cool scenes in this ep., for example the
scene with a book - hilarious ! XD
and oh, Sully ...WRRRRRRRRRRRRR yes, yes, you must finish this bed immediately although what I see you don't need one to do dirty stuff with Michaela ;)) THAT'S WHY IT'S PERFECT ! THX SKYDANCER!!!!!!!
It's so sad and incredibly well done episode. I don't know whether somebody else noticed, but for me it is manifesting itself particularly in the scene when Brian and No-Harm are exchanging gifts. I know that Brian didn't think about it this way and he's a friend of Indians, but in this seemingly innocent exchange, a gloomy symbolism is hiding : the Native American is giving the flute, a White Man- knife.
odd how Michaela was compulsively scrubbing things the way Colleen was after her traumatic experience...
I always thought it was remarkable, and a very 'heads-up' piece of screenwriting, that Sully didn't rush right into the barn after Michaela to comfort her when she was falling apart like that and prevented Matthew from doing so as well. As vital as the presence of another person can be there are those few times when it just wouldn't help. Sigh. Tremendous acting, I say it again...
I can't blame Michaela one bit for the way she acted toward everybody after the massacre. Sickening, and maybe if a few more people had actually stood up and protested like her it might have been prevented, who knows. One or 2 people, well meaning or not, saying "sorry all your friends were killed" was way too little way too late. This 2 part episode is the acting pinnacle of the entire series IMO, painful as it is.
Larry Sellers/Cloud Dancing has such a cool look about him when he's angry. He really shoots some sparks from his eyes when he wants to. This is such a horrible episode (exceptionally acted, but so gut sickeningly sad and unsatisfying.)
This episode is so sad. Very well done though, the saddest thing is the truth and reality behind this disgusting treatment and mass murder of innocent people.
@yurelsis Revolution and The heart within please check the playlist if you do not mind for other episodes they are all in order there on my channel just click on my name under or over the video or even uder this comment or others in blue and it will send you straight there, I am not trying to be rude but I do have like 100 other comments to try answering and I have to filp at times it's justtime saving. :D
@BooPandah A great actor is actually feeling the emotions they portray, and these people are all great actors. Babies are so great at picking up on the feeling of people surrounding them :-) Makes for a fantastically real scene!
Wow, Custer using God as a justification for the genocide of the Indians. God made them too, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't happy about the way it unfolded.
I really am beginning to feel sorry for Sully's first wife Abigail. She basically had to stay in a shack. It is like he did not even try. She did not get half of the things that Sully went out of his way to give to Michaela. Sully is always saying that he never had feelings for Abigail like he had for Michaela . I guess Sully and Michaela had to go through other people to find each other, their true soul mates. Just food for thought.
@lillinda1973 Yeah, well Mike did say she could not stay in Abigail's home. And he was young and all that when he married her plus her mother gave them the land too remember he wanted to build WHERE he wanted a home and wanted to give the land to matthew too.
@hogwartsjedi You know I know this episode is not funny but I have been having a rough few days I saw your comment and cracked up Thanks I couldn't help it it was what I needed.
@lillinda1973 passing out the good Charmin TP sorry no more KleenX ooh heres a baggie just clean up afterwards! Oh hell have a four pack this one calls for it!
I swear just continuing to watch this it pisses me off. It makes me think how the prejudice, racist white government aren't shit. I think of all they have done to people of color throughout history, to steal, lie, rape and kill to maintain a weak sense of superiority.
I am so elated that INSP started showing Dr. Quinn. It was one of my favorite shows as a little girl. They do not make good quality programming like this anymore. I related so much(living in Ohio) to the ignorance, discrimination, and hatred that the Cheyenne, Dr. Mike, and Robert E and Ms. Grace received from smalled minded, conservative town folks.
Sully is so right. She needs to let the grief go.. and do it on her own.. And find her hope again.. Intuitive man.. his part was clearly written by women.. :)
Oh my goodness. I am so upset. I just keep tearing up. This whole thing is so tragic.. I can't imagine how she feels.. She just lives on hope, and to feel so helpless against the cruelty in the world.. This would be so awful.
I'm really surprised that Sully and Dr Mike didn't show more emotion when they saw all the bodies and walked through the camp.. Those were Sully's family.. I thought for would be devastated.. They looks like they're looking at a bunch of strangers that got killed, sad but not desolate..
@shufi24 Because some people are just plain ol' morons and think they are God and caan do as they wish, greed, power and money plus material things are all most people focus on, they do not believe in God, or they can not understand what the bible says, they will warp and twist it and then hide behind what they say and blame it on God and his son this we can fairly call those people... Hypocrites!
@shufi24 Here's another way too, how shallow people can be and are. When my cousin who is 23 was killed in a car accident this past June, his uncle my other cousin said to his sister after the comment was made about Matt is in God's hands now. He my cousin growls, There IS no God, he would never allow ths to happen if HE were real.
It struck a nerve and I said, "Wait hold on you just won the lottery $5,000 jumping up and down oh God! Thank you! Etc. But now you're cursing him huh?
@shufi24 I said why not try this, blame Satan for something? It's always God that gets blasted and trashed but who was the one that started all of this crap? He tricked Eve and then Adam and then there was the fact HE claimed he could run things better, so God said go ahead and try! Thus we have a bunch of morons, that are greedy money hungry etc. And blame God for all the shit that they go through, never hear them cursing satan for sure.
I'd never seen this episode before! One of the best indeed! Thanks a lot for uploading it!

This was definitely the best episode so far.
Does anyone know where I can find more info on the origins of the Cheyenne's medicine? The story sounded so interesting!
