  • I will be visiting Newcastle next month never been here before so this is interesting to watch :-)

  • i have lived in Newcastle for almost 13 years and i hate it! It might look good and interesting but if u come away from the Tyne it is one of the most dangerous places in England. So if u get a chance to visit Newcastle... don't!

  • Absolutely brilliant !!!! As a fellow 'Geordie gone South' I learned more about Newcastle in the last 9 minutes watching this video than I ever learned at school !!! Thanks Steve !

  • The only symbolic item in Newcastle to me is the tyne bridge .The rest our a waist of tax payers money ...From a Geordie born and bread...

  • ive had many a piss in that church yard, thanks for posting.

  • Very interesting video. Lots of stuff I never knew about Newcastle. I was born and raised in Wingate, went to Newcastle for day trips and later as a lad in his teens, drank the ale! I miss the County House....great sportsmans shop that I bought my first air rifle and kit. Hope to get back some day. I'm in Texas U.S.A. now.

  • I live in Newcastle and it's an great place, I love the buildings and the history. Love your vodcast.

  • Thank You very much for posting this video of my old hometown! I'm a Geordielass living in California and it is so nice to see my old hometown ( in the sunshine!) and see the history, which you have explained so well. Please post some more videos! Howay the Lads!!

  • I have to concur with @dfg297lpopdirk here. Good subject material ruined by poor sound quality. On some parts I could hardly hear, due to back ground noise. A microphone is needed, or failing that, put on the narration track post production. That is What I had to do on some of my documentaries I have done.

  • he's lush

  • Very nice but if you do another wear a mike. Spend the money it will be worth it.

but thanks for posting it was very good

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this video on History of Newcastle. Newcastle is a great place to be. There are a lot of local deals on resturants, spas, nightlife and it really helps me save money being a student. I got my teeth whitened through a site called MrQuib. Google search 'MrQuib Newcastle' to learn more. I felt that its worth sharing.

  • Been away for 14 years, and enjoyed this affectionate history lesson! Must pop round the back of the station next time I'm down, and have a look for myself. Never visited the museum of antiquities, so that's on the list as well. Cheers!

  • @dannythomas68 The museum of antiquities isn't there anymore.

It's been incorporated into the 'Great North Museum: Hancock', which is a pale immitation of its former self.
