Oh sweet! You know, I'm not actually sure if my boss has a name for it...it's just a small operation kind of across the street from the Boydens, but we hay all over town
Haha, ok, fair enough...didn't quite get the depth from your first post, sorry. But we don't have too much problem with leaf loss, mainly because the fields we hay aren't strictly planted...just a mix of a bunch of grasses. I mean sure, some of the volume gets knocked away every time you handle it, but with stuff like this there's a lot more where it came from :P
Try raking clockwise. That way you are not windrowing on top of downed hay. First round is counter to get it away from the fence, then counterclockwise that one half way back. Keep going clockwise for the perfect windrows
My dad owns/lives in the Bakers' old house. It's funny that I just randomly stumbled upon this video. I think he still harvests the hay from the field at my dad's, and obviously still has his barn next door.
hahaha, that's awesome. I totally helped to repaint / clean out the garage of that house before it was sold. Over the summer I'm next door in that barn all the time. Wacky, I tell ya
I make hay in Athol MA and Barre Ma both are about 30 miles east of you

oh of course, I always do. That bit was a little section that goes behind a tobacco barn...only about three swaths wide.
