  • Since when is Dawkins trying to revive the atheist belief? People don't believe in a god because they think they aren't as co-dependent as they want to believe. What most atheists and christians miss is the fact that all of the people in the Bible are humans, but more so "super-evolved" humans, such as us. It seems a bit odd, but picture yourself, still alive, in the year 4457. You might have the technological power to create medium sized universes, could you not? I think I have made this clear.

  • I came out a couple years ago, family refuses to believe I'm atheist. 2 atheist tattoos later I'm all but disowned from the majority of my family. It made me sad at first, but then I realized I don't really like them anyways. Anyone who'd murder their baby if god commanded it then I don't think I have much respect for what you have to say about anything. The only bummer is I'm the only atheist in town lol.

  • I am an atheist and I came out last two months. Some people criticized me and freaked out, including some members of my family. But when I explained them why I became an atheist, they really became kind again. That's why my advice to my fellow atheists is to come out and explain why did you became an atheist. :)

  • I came out last night! My family freaked out. I do have some good supporters though, my fiance most importantly.

  • I came out of the atheist closet last summer. It really wasn't that bad and I feel better being open and honest about not believing in religious myths.

  • True belief is a compulsion, not a choice. The only way to differentiate the truth from wishful thinking is to investigate the world around us. The ubiquitous nature of religion should hint at its evolutionary nature...

  • @thepeff

That really is tough, and I'm very sorry for your situation. You have to decide what is more important to you, in this respect: being honest about your opinion, or keeping those close to you in their own happy minds. And it can very well depend on how much longer you have to his from yourself. I would encourage coming out, but I can't pretend to understand all factors of your situation.

  • One thing about this "out" campaign is it assumes that the chief reason for being "closeted" is fear of discrimination. For all I know, that is the main reason but it isn't my reason (and I'm sure others are like me). My parents will always love me but the trouble is, if I said, "I'm an apostate," they would hear, "Your son is going to Hell." I feel that if I did come out, I would inflict a lot of emotional trauma to two people who have loved me unconditionally all my life.

  • well in latin america isn't any better either :S but i'm really thinking about outing myself  in a near future i'm very sure ;D i just need the perfect moment :haha:

  • I'm a creationist. Man created god!

  • isnt it better to care for the poor and ill then spend your time worshiping a invisible guy in the sky

  • 59 atheist are still in the closet

  • There is no god...there MAY have been a man named Yeshua of Nazareth, but he was no more the "son of god" than I am...

  • So there is a relationship between the atheist community and the homosexual community? That they agree about something? That they are both considered to be totally against God? Absolutely incredible about the beliefs some people have...

  • @Silentnight187 Imagine whatever relationship you want, the only necessary connection that they have is that Christianity (and most religions) consider both gays and atheists abhorrent. Also, many gays and probably most atheists consider most religions retarded. Absolutely incredible, the beliefs some people have, huh? ;)

  • @ianman6 It really is. No one seems to see which things are against God, and how they are banding together or at least trying to. Just find out what religions accept homosexuality, and look for common themes in groups of people all over the world. You'll find there are 2 kinds of people 1. accept God's sovereignty 2. reject God's sovereignty. All beliefs can be backed into one of these categories. Pretty funny huh? All the things that are against God accept one another and hate Christ as a whole

  • @Silentnight187 Sigh. Ok, first, there are believing homosexuals. They would disagree with atheists, therefore 'Satan's house' is divided. Second, you lump everyone into two categories? Fine, but you mislabelled them. The first category is gullible morons who believe in fairy tales, the second is comprised of people who use the brain they were born with. I hope you know people read your comments and laugh at you, you sound very ignorant. I'm sure you have a Bible quote about 'mockers' though.

  • @ianman6 Actually, it is not because those "Believing homosexuals" only believe part of the bible. Yep two categories, dress them however makes you feel better. "Is the servant greater than the Master? If they call the Master Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of His house?" People that read these comments and laugh are precisely the people I want to read them. Because I want you all to have no excuse, just to know that Jesus is the way and the only truth. "Every knee will bow...

  • @Silentnight187 You are too easily impressed by archaic story books. Quoting the Bible is not evidence to support reason to believe. Anyway, we will never convince each other of anything so I will quit debating and spare the people on YouTube from reading another re-hashed atheism vs religion debate. Take care!

  • @ianman6 Good thought mate. You take care also.

  • @Silentnight187

"Because I want you all to have no excuse, just to know that Jesus is the way and the only truth. "Every knee will bow... "

"Absolutely incredible about the beliefs some people have..."

    Troll.

  • @joestfrancois haha... Never get tired of being called a troll. Only shows that you are far more upset than I am. And with good reason, you have no peace with God. I certainly do, and want to only share it with everyone.

  • @Silentnight187

"haha... Never get tired of being called a troll. Only shows that you are far more upset than I am. And with good reason, you have no peace with God. I certainly do, and want to only share it with everyone."

You are not that bright, the two comments you made show the error of you thinking. You are unable to show any evidence supporting your superstition and then say things about what other people believe. You sound demented and then you get called on it you claim victory?

  • @joestfrancois Oh yeah... about that book I've been talking about... It umm... says in the end of it... that Christians win. So yeah... I WIN! Because Jesus gave me victory over the world when He died without deserving it. My proof is in the book. Yours is in someone's imagination, that makes up a new lie every time it is necessary. My book has not changed.

  • @joestfrancois Just tell me that you believe that Charles Darwin died for your sins, and I'll leave you in peace...

  • @Silentnight187

"Oh yeah... about that book I've been talking about... It umm... says in the end of it... that Christians win. So yeah... I WIN! Because Jesus gave me victory over the world when He died without deserving it. My proof is in the book. Yours is in someone's imagination, that makes up a new lie every time it is necessary. My book has not changed"

HA ha ha ha, now there is humor there. No proof, no evidence, but the book says it is true and that is enough for you. LOL.

  • @joestfrancois I just told you where my proof is... Your choice is not to believe it, because you think somehow you will escape judgement... but you deserve everything that I deserve. Have faith in man if you want, but I'll have faith in the living God.

  • @ianman6 So Jesus was right when He told His people; "Satan's house is not divided."

  • Uh, i'm an Atheist.

  • Totally an atheist here!

  • I have been out since i was 14. I believe that being out is a blessing.

  • Proud atheist, here! And boy does that upset my Scottish Catholic step-mother.

  • Just told my parents that I'm an atheist yesterday, now I need to tell the bishop and a couple other people before the news will quickly spread to all my friends. Lovely, I wonder what they will think, the next few weeks will definitely be interesting. I might make a video soon and become a YouTube atheist. :)

  • LMFAO Atheists need a church to help strengthen their faith in Atheism. Are you F'n kidding me? hahahahahaha.

  • @TheBbg83 We don't need a church, that's retarded.

  • @TheBbg83 It's a trap!

  • Atheist pride parade?

  • I'm an Atheist. (:

  • Religion is sort of like a fire, it keeps us comfortable as a primitive society, but in our modern times, is something hazardous and destructive, metaphorically speaking.

  • 59 people weree caught sucking Kirk Camerons dick

  • I'm a lesbian and an atheist. I don't know how to tell my parents. They are mormon and its so terrifying. I know I should have my own right to my own beliefs and my own opinions, but for some reason I'm still scared to tell them.

  • @RaZorXwireXbabyX Start slowly, in increments. Use small discussions, ask them about their mormon core principles and refute them logically (ur arguments should be infallible so theres no doubt about who is right . Shouldnot be too hard since mormons believe stuff only retarded people, or severely indoctrinated people could believe. They will be your shock absorbers for the day you are ready to come out. Cheer, and best of luck!

  • atheist are just akward...

  • I came out to my family today.

My mom cried, told me that she was sad but she wasn't going to scream and yell, that she prayed for me every day and hoped that I would change my mind one day. My cousin said that she would just pray that I saw the light.

  • @Kellerwerks

Oh Keller... I know exactly how that feels... Your mom believes this will land you in a horrible place. I am a proud Mom of a atheist. He is one of the most moral and honest people I know. When he told me about his non-faith, I felt sad and scared. I didn't know what that was all about, and even though I was not religious I had years of indoctrination to work through. Happily, we are now ALL secular humanints in our house ;-) Just be patient with ur mom... she'll come around.

  • I'm an atheist.

But then, I've said it on youtube many times before.

I need to tell my parents, my hardcore catholic parents. What fun. (sarcasm)

  • @Elemental135 record it and post it on the tube!

  • I didnt know I was in the closet?

  • Isn't it odd a channel dedicated to Richard Dawkins allows rates and comment but a channel dedicated to William Lane Craig does not!!(sarcasm)

I occasionally come across one of Craig's videos but when It is on that censorship channel I don't watch it just close it I mean why bother when the channel owner is to close minded . Just goes to show you who is in general the most close minded group.

  • ...in a country where more than 90% of people consider themselves as catholic... it's hard to say "I'm atheist" but not impossible... reason over dogma!!

  • I will post this and repost

  • im an atheist alot of people have known that for a long time but y r some people saying religion is evil? my friend is religious but he always tells me its just something to believe in to know ur going somewere after u die.

  • @jobohobo88 religion is dogmatism. it tells you what to think and how to think. but it almost never teaches you to think by yourself and/or for yourself.

the fact that your friend WANTS to believe in an afterlife proves that he is wasting at least some of his life here on earth. the afterlife cannot be proven by current science and definitely not a bunch of shit paper. i'm sure you know that.

that's why religion is evil. it ruins the lives and mentalities of humans.

    i thought you knew that?

  • @jobohobo88 er, scratch that- it doesn't tell you how to think. just what to think lol

  • @OyonTheAdept but believing in something doesn't waste ur life because there a lot of things that people belive in and no matter wat anyone says we all have believed in something. and ive been to his church (boring as hell) and never once did the preacher say that the bible said u have to believe this. its just a choice and even though we have fought about it alot i still respect his descisions and i dont think that we should judge other people. "Treat people how you want to be treated."

  • oh shit, NOW IM GAY?

  • here in denmark is it more the norm to be an atheists when a beliver xD... shame on you USA

  • @victorolsen1 I am from USA and I agree with you. By the way, I spent a summer in Danmark on the island Fyn and enjoyed it very much.

  • @ndrthrdr1 :D ^^ ye it is nice at Fyn :3 i live a little more north ^^

  • @victorolsen1 Yeah, in Denmark Atheism is normal an nobody hates you for it.

  • @Lars1993 Sounds like real a real version of heaven...

  • @victorolsen1 Well this video inspired me to tell my dad... he promptly kicked me out Im 17 and work at a fast food joint, Can I come live with you?

  • @victorolsen1

I grow more and more displeased with my country every day, it's hard to say I'm proud to be an American anymore

  • Im an Atheist and proud of it. Living my life by reason, fact and evidence and more importantly: truth. Who knows, in the future we might live in a world where the thought of religion is laughed at. Heres hoping. I just hope we don't have to face any pesky sea otters.

  • Im an atheist. Cant find anyone excepting. FUK my town.

  • @intimatethinker Hey once again YOUR NOT ALONE. LOL, im Mexican 2nd home of the Catholics as well as class 'A' ignorats(when speaking for the great mayority of Mexicans) im doing my part by talking about work, family, life and eventually will lead to Religion. the root of some of the evil. OUT CAMPAIGN TO THE FULLEST, be sure to get your facts right though, gotta be prepared to preach the good word of rationality.

also be very polite when debating, dont lose ur heads.

  • What kind of religious belief system would ostracize and shame non-believers to the extent they have to hide their disbelief? This kind of psychological fascism sickens me and only serves to remind me why I am atheist.

  • It's quite difficult to refer oneself as an atheist when there is not the atheist equivalent of items found in every other religious groups: a distinguishable visual sign, a set of reference texts (I don't want to use the term "sacred"....), rituals, ceremonies of introduction within the atheist group, etc. It may look like this is a bad idea at first, but this is really what is missing in order to create atheist communities and a strong movement.

  • so... atheism is gay?

  • 1 atheist here, a 24yr old UPS employee from worcester, massachussettes. dont have a camcorder so cant post a vid sorry. -peace

  • @HBCjunke You should get a web camera. They tend to be more affordable than camcorders and allow for quick video posting!

  • I'm with Richard.

  • The difference between atheism and homosexuality, is that at some point, everyone has been an atheist. every newborn baby is an atheist.

  • How can the atheists delude themselve and believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?

  • @1tabligh haha classic creationist argument.

  • @Digitalis17894 Is it at all feasible to regard all the precise geometry, functioning and movement of the universe as the outcome of matter in its ignorance?

How can it be supposed that belief in the existence of God is the acceptance of contradiction, whereas belief in the uncaused nature of an effect such as matter is not contradictory?

Materialism looks at the world with one eye *closed* and, as a result, is unable to answer numerous questions!

  • @1tabligh

    Watch this: watch?v=p_nqySMvkcw

  • @d3st88 How can the atheists delude themselve and believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?

  • @1tabligh how can you delude yourself that god produced himself, if he's eternal how could such a vast intelligence just exist when all evidence points to intellience being a product evolution.

  • @HBCjunke Before he enters the realm of science and knowledge with all its concerns, man is able to perceive certain truths by means of these innate perceptions. But after entering the sphere of science and philosophy and filling his *brain* with various proofs and deductions, he may forget his natural and innate perceptions or begin to doubt them. It is for this reason that when man moves beyond his innate nature to delineate a belief, differences begin to appear. ...

  • @1tabligh Curiosity is also innate in humans. Science satiates that curiosity. We've always manipulated our environment and created tools. We've always performed experiments in order to first improve our living conditions and then to further knowledge of the world. Denying that part of our existence is perverse.

  • God and Empirical Logic.

One of the most destructive and misleading factors in thoughts concerning God is to restrict one's thought to the "logic" of the empirical sciences and to *fail* to recognize the *limits* and boundaries of that "logic".

Is that which is necessary in essence and which is considered the first source of existence matter itself or something else beyond the limits of matter?

  • @1tabligh First of all Science doesn't decree anything. They simply observe nature and try to replicate what they find in the form of experiments. These experiments are then replicated over and over. If sufficient evidence reveals a pattern then a theory is purposed, which is then tested many different ways through other experiments to determine it's validity. Second how is believing god any more valid? The existence of elements and particles can be proven with evidence, while god can't.

  • @TheAtheistKate

    The atheist Delusion!

Your delusions that science has put out the notion of God is purely rhetorical and has nothing to do with logical method, because even thousands of scientific experiments could not possibly suffice to demonstrate that no non-material being or factor exists. Your claim is nothing more than a fanatical illusion based on unproven theories.

Views such as these derive directly from a system of thought centered on materialism; within it, everything...

  • is defined and delimited with reference to materialism. To interpret materialism in such a sense is in the final analysis strictly meaningless; it would be a superstitious notion involving the perversion of truth, and to regard it as scientific would, in fact, be *treason* to science.

Is that which is necessary in essence and which is considered the first source of existence matter itself or something else beyond the limits of matter?

    Yes or no?

  • We're here, and we vote. Start pandering.

  • My fellow atheists, you are not alone. :)

  • @bookwormsrcool True that we are Legion We are Forever....though not in immortal religious way

  • the thing about most athiests i have talked to are weak and cant drop the whole god concept but i think they werent atheists but christians saying they were to try and convert you.but not all atheists are like that .

  • Cool, this campaign is exellent idea. I´m Spartacus :)

  • Should the scientist, who is aware of the natural causes and of the factors determining each step of creation towards perfection, of mankind's evolution, of the minute accuracy and exactitude that rules every change in the nature that surrounds us, come to believe that these wondrous laws and amazing interactions have somehow fortuitously emerged out of mindless matter?

  • @1tabligh Yes

  • @jay123tysk Is it at all feasible to regard all the precise geometry, functioning and movement of the universe as the outcome of matter in its ignorance?

How could it be believed that matter should itself be the origin of millions of attributes and characteristics and thus be the equivalent of the purposeful, wise and all-knowing Creator?

  • @1tabligh My son that is the argument of design which is the same as the one used before Evolution was understood. People would say "Nature is perfect therefore it must have been created by the all knowing. How else can you explain it?". However today we know how! There are Natural laws that more or less govern the universe. It is one hell of an assumption to say of there must have been an intelligent force at work. It is merely a human projection.

  • @jay123tysk Is it logical to say that belief in God is peculiar to those who know nothing about man's composition and creation, and that, by contrast, a scientist who is aware of the natural laws and factors responsible for man's growth and development, who knows that law and precise calculation preside over all stages of man's existence, is bound to believe that matter, lacking all perception and consciousness, is the source of the wondrous laws of nature?

  • @1tabligh Dude what are you talking about? Scientists are the segment of the population that are least religious and the higer and more lerned the less likely the scientist is to believe, with only a few exceptions. Also It is because we are aware of the human body that we know that the designer could not have been intelligent. Our mouths are too small for our teeth and our back is a very very bad design.

  • @jay123tysk How could some of the scientists permit themselves to make a claim that would necessitate knowledge as extensive as the scheme of the universe, when their knowledge of the total scheme of being is *close* to zero, when confronted with a whole mass of unknowns concerning this very earth and tangible, lifeless matter, let alone the whole universe? ....

  • Do scientific discoveries and knowledge cause such a scientist to conclude that matter, *** unknowing and unperceiving ***, is his creator and that of all beings?

Materialism looks at the world with one eye *closed* and, as a result, is unable to answer numerous questions!

  • ...mouths are too small for our teeth...

    ______

Just consider the *jaws* and saliva in the mouth and see the wisdom underlying it. It is so composed as to ensure constant flow to keep the throat and the palate moist, not to allow dryness therein that they may lead to *death*. Without it the food would not he chewed nor would it flow down. All this is obvious and supported by observation. And know that this fluid is derived from food and getting down aids the action of the gall-bladder.

  • @1tabligh My son, it is you who is looking with one eye closed as you ignore the obvious unintelligent and flawed designs in the human body. This known as having a "blind spot" when you avoid that which does not fit into your own beliefs. There is no proof that god exists. You may look at the universe or nature and think wow this is amazing how did it come to be? And feel that there must be intelligence at work, but that does not make it so. It is merely mental projection.

  • @1tabligh My son, that same Saliva is also responsible for causing your teeth to decay thus we have to brush our teeth. Where is the intelligence in that?

If we are talking about the greatest being in the universe, the all knowing creator and this is his work? Where is this proof that you say we ignore by keeping one eye closed? The only proof of god is the Tarantula Hawk Wasp. Look it up

  • @jay123tysk Dodging ALL the questions and quibbling in vain!

Materialism looks at the world with one eye *closed* and, as a result, is unable to answer numerous questions!

How can it be supposed that belief in the existence of God is the acceptance of contradiction, whereas belief in the uncaused nature of an effect such as matter is not contradictory?

  • I feel like I'm at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. But yeah.

Nearly none of my friends know, but yeah... I am an Atheist, and I'm from California.

    Whew, that feels good.

  • Dawkins! Hero!

  • hey great video i subed cuz i think its got a great message dawkins is right we need to let people know theres alot more of us then they think . check my vids out if you get the chance and let me know what you think

  • Just goes to show what a difference there is across cultures, growing up in Australia I thought (and still do) that the kids that went to Sunday school and believed in god were the strange ones, and what wacky parents for sending their kids to school on a Sunday, It astonishes me that atheists feel they have to hide in America after all the country was founded by a bunch of atheists. All that in god we trust shit was added in the 20th century

  • @foiran Nail on the head mate.

When I first got on youtube I was shocked. Over here in the UK, no one gives two hoots. There are other things to worry about. Generally, as long as you arent a dick about your religion, or lack of it, no one cares.

People like Pat Robertson or Ray Comfort wouldnt last very long at all.

But... Isnt Ken Hom and Ray Australian?

  • and me, i thought religion was for the minority of folk who either needed it as a way to bring them hope, or had been brought up believing by their parents.

it wasn't 'til I noticed on youtube just how many people in the US actively refute otherwise commonly accepted science and evolution based on what the BIBLE says about creation!

i couldn't believe it; I was blissfully unaware that this intellectually dishonest and disingenuous campaign was being waged against the scientific community.

  • @foiran same i live in aus and i find that more people my age are none religous and if they are religous they are half assed they say there christian but dont go to church have sex out of marrage so on and so on

  • actually I'm pretty sure the US wasn't founded by atheists in any way.

the pilgrim fathers (clue's in the title) went to the US to make it the new holy land, since they didnt agree with their religion in europe & the UK.

the constitution was definately made up by secularists, who recognized the need for seperation of church and statem but that was TOTALLY undermined in the 60's when people started to associate communism (very feared by the yanks) with atheism, so they added god to their money.

  • strange really; the UK sends it's deeply religious to the americas as colonials, and sends it's convicts to australia as colonials, and not bringing religion into it, overall, I'd far rather live in oz than the US.

the attitude, way of life, sense of humour, tolerance of other nations and peoples, overall I'd say all these things sway in favour of aussies.

that may well just be my opinion and I admit it, before anyone thinks I believe it as an absolute or in any way a fact.

  • @gavsmith1980 ok, I should have made the distinction no they wernt athiests but they were secularists and would no doubt be disgusted by the threat to secularism in the us. its actually frightening that they are trying to do in the US what the taliban did to afghanistan

  • @gilmore: how so? because he used the word "out"?

by your logic, bicycles have wheels and cars have wheels... therefore cars are bicycles.

  • KingHeathen has like 89 deconversion stories replying to his request. You guys should check out those videos, too.

  • Anti religion atheist secular humanist logical thinker non profanity free thinker

  • Here I am! (This atheist is a little late to the party.)

  • There's a movement in Great Britain to change the name of the Atheist community to Brights as in those who are bright-minded and clear of thought...

    We're Bright!

    We're Right!

    Get used to it! =)

  • @KnaveryAbounds

    I like it. :D

  • i'm proud to be an atheist.

  • I am happy to call myself an atheist, I mean there are so many books in the world about science all on different subjects that the biggest of libraries would have trouble storing. So to say that all you need to know about the world is consolidated into one book insults my intelligence. Thanks for this video.

  • In ninth grade, a group came to our school to talk anti-drugs.

They tried to put a Christian spin on it too.

    I remarked:

    "Fuck you, both times!"

  • Well, I don't really like the word atheism, as it might imply some sorta belief that God does not exist. I am anti-religionist!

  • Hey, I'm out!!!!!!!!

Greece atheists, are you out already?

  • I don't have a video to upload but I am happy to declare myself an atheist. I know it's anonymous on here but I can assure you I am completely open about it in my real life and everyone who knows me knows I'm an atheist. But then it isn't a problem in Britain, just in countries like America.

  • Pure atheist because this life is more beautiful than killing and destroying everything for the false possibility that i may live forever in the clouds.

  • I am an out of the closet atheist!

  • I was never "in"-doctrinated. I am out. :)

  • I have to ask which god is it you want people to beleive in?

  • I don't think special137 is able to understand such a tricky question...

  • I've been out since I was 9 ;)

  • I was thrown out of Sunday school at age 6 for in my little way asking the wrong questions, and I've been out ever since ... thank god hahaha!

    Did I win now? XD

  • We atheists and non-theists (whatever term you see fit to call yourself) must realize that we are not alone. No matter how distant you may feel from others, whether it is because you reside within the bible belt or the evangelical mid-west of our great country that stands by its foundations for the seperation of church and state, the freedom of and the freedom from religion, and other unaliable rights that each person is entitled to. This coming out is only the tip of the iceberg!!!

  • We must stand by our understanding of the sciences and our non-beliefs, and utilize our power in this democratic republic to not only protect our rights as citizens but also to prevent the formation of a theocracy that many christians would like to see installed. I am an atheist and I am damn proud of it and so should all of you!!

  • I've posted my response. Thanks :D

  • well Mr Dawkins i live in Alabamma a very christian place and im atheist while im 14 there is only one other atheist i know of in my high school

  • Im glad i came out as an atheist i did find people with the same belifes as me.

  • Science has driven religion from its hold on :

    Chemistry -when calling it Alchemy,

Cosmology -thinking the Universe revolved around us and Biology - proclaiming Human beings were created in a divine image, the only refuge religion has now is cowering in the quantum world. Science will soon claim this last bastion of religion's defense.

  • I'm atheist.... and I have no reason to fear any prejudice, as I am fortunate to live in a society of non invasive liberal freethinking people (recently a friend came out as a homosexual, fearing that his friends would abandon him and being disowned by his family, neither happened, and was welcomed with open arms). I have never had to deal with injustice or attacks by brainwashed zombies.

  • My web-camera is broken, so today I'll just out myself here: I'm an atheist, as I have been my whole life. : )

  • It's harder to be Atheist than Gay sometimes, a friend of mine came out and his family finally accepted it after some time, but when he told them about not sharing their beliefs, his parents basically disowned him.

  • Imagine my life I am gay and an atheist.

  • You're fucked!

    xD

  • @mrtnsamson Me too!

  • @mrtnsamson ... .... I'm so, so sorry that people think that Gays/Atheists are bad. If it makes you feel any better, my Atheist bestfriend is Bi. :D

  • @mrtnsamson - Well, life is supposed to be a challenge. Hang in there!

  • @mrtnsamson join the club (except I'm Bi, but anyways. your not alone!!!!)

  • @mrtnsamson I wouldn't want to imagine that but then aren't ALL ATHEISTS GAY?

  • @mrtnsamson Congrats for being born nowadays and, say, a few decades ago. The zeitgeist can change quickly if help it along :)

  • How I was supposed to get that from your previous comment I do not know. I think you are either very young or on something or both. You do not seem to be able to conduct a civilised discussion.

  • EndeavourAlways,.... why can't you atheist answer the question of the half full glass vs. the half empty glass? Bust out the science and logic if you dare... ( this should be a good one) hahaha!

  • I'm not sure I understand your drift. The conflict you mention is not a question it is simply a way of describing two mindsets. Nobody can answer all the questions out there, but saying god did it simply creates more questions.

  • my drift is that your brain makes emotional connections to every memory in its head. experience is subjective, the glass is not experiencing you, therefor within the realm of subjective experiences, religion and beliefs in god exist as potential possibilities. Our brains have evolved to make abstract connections which progresses humanity to continue to emerge. so maybe on that one point you are right. well done....lol

  • Are you being obtuse on purpose? The belief is not in "religion" or in the "belief in god". Atheists do not believe in gods, religious people do. Belief in gods is the learned philosophy.

  • No religion is the learned philosophy, you do not have to learn to not believe in something that does not exist.

  • "something that does not exist"

really? religion doesn't exist...lol and beliefs in god don't exist?

I guess "atheist" don't exist either... how laughable!!!!

  • I am an atheist, and proud of it. I've never tried to hide it, but I hope this video does get some people to come out. There are more of us in the US than people think - come on, people, speak OUT!

  • the lack of proof for the existance of god does not mean it is non existant.......the human brain is incapable of understanding even the concept of god......its like trying to imagine the size of the universe......

  • Generally speaking, the concept of god is pretty easy. He shows all the traits of man who invented him. It never ceases to amaze me the way that religious people portray him as small minded, petty, vengeful, jealous etc - all the very human traits.

  • you right EndeaverAlways it's not that hard.

It's called "free will", lets draw a little circle and label it

"free will". then lets draw anther little circle and call it religion. I think you get the gist here... free will covers religion and beliefs in god and non beliefs in god ect ect ... so quit logically you are wrong. People can in fact believe anything they want. Or are you going to argue that you can't believe what you want?.... laughing on the inside...

  • Why are all you religious people so bitter? You do not seem to be able to debate things without adopting sarcastic and beligerent modes. Is it because you have no genuine arguments? Are you rattled when you are unable to answer so many simple and basic questions? Unfortunately, it seems that whilst free will exists, religious people seem to have been indoctrinated to the point where they are unable to exercise it. Try not to be scared and start thinking for yourself.

  • " you religious people" sounds like you got ignorant down too..lol

then just stop beating around the bush and tell us why religion exist. It's not that hard.

the causality of the observable expanding universe looks omni potent to me. In fact it is the same causality that created you. The big bang is still in affect. you are a manifestation of that bang.... what's to argue?

oh and there is no such thing as "objective experience" they proved that one already mathematically...next!
