Cedar Fair has gutted this ride of it's soul. Sure, the actual coaster is unchanged, but the cool things like the music while waiting in line and the aircraft carrier that you walked through and the giant picture of the F-14 launching are all gone. They even combined the entrance and exit and painted over all of the markings in the tunnel. I know they don't own the rights to the Top Gun movie, but they could have kept of great carrier theme without specific mention of the movie.
@firstmusic00 They had to remove all the theming because Paramount owns the rights to the Top Gun name and Cedar Fair also agreed to remove all the movie related theming to all their rides at all the former Paramount Parks within a few years after Cedar Fair had acquired the parks.
I remember when SOB had the loud chain lift. I swear you could hear it from the hotel we were staying at. It sounded like it was going to collapse... and hopefully it does now. LOL By the way nice video!
@BlaqJm18 Actually, the rumor is that they're waiting to see how the New Texas Giant transormation works out. Hopefully they'll be able to redirect this troubled ride in the near future.
Yep, those were the anti-roll backs on the SOB. You should have tried riding it when it was open. the SOB had one of the loudest lift hills of any coaster I've ever been on. It's even louder than most coasters from Arrow Dynamics, and that's saying alot.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting as well. Air Force F-15's flying by at Navy aircraft carrier. Made for a good photo though.
