to me.........dow2 has better graphics, better units, better storyline, etc. but i hate how the gameplay is way too similar to company of heroes.

I know the people who made CoH made DoW but comon I want to play as the space marines. I dont like it when i move as slow as a turtle in peanut butter and the cover thing is bull. the game is CoH except with the units look futuristic. I always play Dawn of War Dark crusade rather than "CoH: Warhammer 40k"

this game looks really good in my opinion, cause my favorite part of the original dows were the beginning of the games where people were more cautious about losing there units rather than later on in the games where you have so much resource you can make anything constantly. they made it more like table top so it looks great to me. :)

There are no more lp's, additional buildings and there are less troops and units to choose from.

and just made the game skill and scouting.

You do realize half of the unit mentioned there wasn't available in the first DoW, they came in the expansion. Just expect the same with this game.

You definitely got a point, I prefer DC campaign; and I know how great Firestorm over Kronus is in MP. However, DoW 2 will be more tactical than strategic, sort of Jagged Alliance in my beloved universe - and that is something I've been waiting for quite a time. At least, I hope it will be so.

You have to use environment much more, squads are much smaller and more expensive. You do not command entire army, mine resources and so on, but operate small groups of specialized units - that's the difference between tactical game and RTS, at least I see it that way. However, playing beta seems very.. arcade as well. Game's a bit too fast for me :|

Well, alot of the types of squads are gone that people really enjoyed, the fact that you dont control a whole army would make the game boring,

smaller and more expensive, an improvement - no!

Using few squads with skill, not spamming an expandable army - yes, that is an improvement. As always, some people are happy, some aren't - you don't like changes and new features, many fans of Starcraft 2 don't like lack of changes and new features - no game is perfect, I guess.

You prefer playing other way around and that's good - everyone will find a fitting game for himself. I preordered the game, you don't have to - what's the reason to be angry and start flaming?

Oh I had mistake on one thing, spamming unit = mass building the same thing.... <- is more of a strategy rather than tactic to be honest if you look at it. Yes I know it's quite a lame strategy for some.

Do you realize whats the meaning of tactic is? Most people usually confuse strategy and tactic. Tactic imply on the method you use in battle. Using cover and lobbing grenade to using rocket barrage is considered tactic. Hell spamming units is still considered as tactic albeit a crude one. Also doing hit and run is tactic too...

I think the right word you are looking for are STRATEGY. Because strategy more of planning in war. Things like divide and conquer, holding territory, etc.

tactics arent just in the shooting, duck and cover stuff.

making outpost bases, capturing points and defending them, finding out your opponents weaknesses and upgradning weapons to destroy certain types of units.

i remember in DC with good players.

when you used to make little bases to defend certain areas,sometimes you had used up your 5 stronghold cap, now its just basically recon with troops which is boring as shit.

Dawn of Warhammer 40K: Firestorm Over Kronus MOD for Dark Crusade. It makes DOW more like the actual 40K table top, meaning it adds hundreds of units and drastically changes gameplay. Message me and I will give you the link for those interested.

I´ve not seen the drop pods kill any units yet, only cause a bit of damage and cause knockback.

I dont know that it KILLS units, but i do know it disorientates them and dishes out a small amount of damage
