  • was that a down shift?

  • Comment removed

  • Actually you are wrong, Honda makes DOHC V-TEC engines, V-TEC is not a type of engine its a component of an engine, V-TEC was designed to help control the rate at which engine valves open and close at different levels of rpm, when V-TEC kicks in the valves open faster and close faster creating higher combustion and more torque.

  • @tjmo1593 actually you are wrong faster is not what power vtec does. They have a completely separate set of cam lobes with a higher rpm profile. When you hear the sound change its when it crosses over.If you look at the vtec killer cams they idle like shit because of lift, duration and lobe separation. The power portion of the vtec cam has all of these features combined with a low side lobe that idles nice and gets good mpg. The best of both worlds. A valve closing faster is not for hi rpm.

  • nice acceleration. too bad the video was taken with a slice of cheese.

  • oh what a fucking beast!!@!

  • 0-60 in around 6 seconds, faster than your average honda, but an 11.1 quarter mile is bullshit, theres no replacement for displacement

  • nice go cart

  • Have you heard the concept of the redline?

  • @SakariNy The fuel cut-off for this car is actually set to 9,000 RPM because its using a Hondata (not stock) ECU, which is why the description says "shifting conservatively", I wasn't even pushing the car at all :)

  • Comment removed

  • @hoperegrine

    c'mon...You where pushing!!

  • @hoperegrine whatever dude, you ricers think that a car like that is fast....until you've ACTUALLY been in a fast car. Slow slow slow piece of shit shifts to third gear by 60? lol

  • @jakal75017 Ever heard of the Ariel Atom? Faster than a veyron to 60 and uses a supercharged civic engine kicking out 300 BHP.

  • @liamcollister the 300hp atom does 0-60 in 2.8 at absolute best the veyron does 0-60 in 2.5 sec every time you want it to the atom 500 is supposed to do the same as the veyron but it has 500hp not 300hp and it has paddle shifters not a stick shift

  • @yesac101 Don't you at all think it's quite funny that something with a civic engine is just as fast as a car that costs more than about 5 average houses? I'd have an atom any day because of the amount of fun you can have =D

  • @liamcollister who wouldn't want one great track car however its fucking expensive as well, it nearly cost as much as a viper, and if given the choice between the two id have the viper over the atom any day. the thing is you could put a lot of power in a Honda for relatively cheap but lets face it its a Honda its obnoxiously loud they all are no matter how nice the exhaust is, ride like shit stock even with nice coilovers, and they are just plain ugly cars. the veyron is a novelty that's all.

  • @hoperegrine what type of valve springs are you using

  • @SakariNy Have you not heard the concept of aftermarket ECU?

  • @SakariNy Have you heard the concept of a modified engine?

  • @SakariNy Dude the concept of the redline is a red mark on the tacho, normally after the power curve tapers off, and a few hundred rpm before the rev limiter.. thats it.

  • nice list of mods to compete with a mustang or camaro

  • My Fj Cruiser could beat that.

  • @markskater00 you're a stupid troll

  • @markskater00 Your FJ cruiser does 11.1 in the 1/4, holy crap, I must see this :P

  • @hoperegrine Post a video of your car doing a quarter, if you haven't already.

  • @markskater00 yeah ok troll

  • @markskater00 FJ CRUSIER FTW!!!!! haha i got a 07 trd fj cruiser and you?

  • what is this?

    2 frames per second?

  • Yea falkens woot woot

  • LMAO i cant help but laugh reeealy hard when i hear a honda rev up!!!

  • @PFCTurner311 why did you use your rank in your name? didnt plan on promotion?

  • @2BarEG idk lol i wasn't thinking at the time i guess

  • @PFCTurner311 lmao

  • Wow, that's actually a pretty respectable Civic. What does it run in the 1/4?

  • 15 people had seizures watching this video.

  • u shift to slow

  • @linDUHxiongg11 He is leaning back too far on his 36 inch ricer pipe

  • @linDUHxiongg11 read the description

  • @PAID2BSAVAGE FAILED AHAHHA

  • pretty fast for a rice burner I must say

  • where did u get the needles for the tach?

  • BEAST

  • damnnn supercharged ? thats crazy about as fast as most turbos

  • @juneya23 No. Just no.

  • @Rustin2000 well i shouldnt have said mostturbos but some turbos

  • @Rustin2000 superchargers is faster then turbo.

  • @cito35th lol you jokin bro

  • @Rustin2000 there is no turbo lag with SC, with a SC u can produce the same velocity but with less horsepower which is good because of faster acceleration.

  • @cito35th You dont realize that superchargers are driven by the engine which actually decreases the power output. Turbochargers use exhaust air to spin

  • @luke26126 thats what i said, supercharger gets to velocity with less horse power, a quicker accel cause no turbo lag

  • @cito35th supercharger takes power to make boost .... turbocharger takes wasted energy and turns it into boost and turbo lag is usually only 1 or 2 seconds then its spooled up but you can overcome that by prespooling aka building boost before you take off soo in actuality a turbocharger is better than a supercharger alot cheaper too

  • @CrackinVTEC666 are you joking me? steady and consistent boost at idle from a belt driven super charger, or no boost till you hit the power band with a larger size turbo. im not saying either is better, they are both practical for different applications.

  • @yoseme 2 step, launch with 15psi easy with a large turbo...

  • @luke26126 Technically, superchargers and turbochargers both hurt power. In thermodynamics, nothing is free. Superchargers are belt driven, which uses energy from the engine. Turbochargers create extra backpressure in the exhaust, which uses energy from the engine. However, they both make up for it by adding far more power than they rob.

It all depends on application which is better.

  • @cito35th Modern-day turbos have very little lag. It all depends on where the turbo is mounted, and the turbine size. Bigger turbos increase lag. Mounting the turbo further downstream increases lag. The longer your intake piping from the turbo to the intake manifold, the more lag.

If you have a modestly size turbo, near the exhaust manifold, with little piping to the intake manifold, you won't notice lag. You're talking tenths of seconds. Drive-by-wire cars have the same delay.

  • does it help to have a anti lag switch wit a big turbo?@MY50GT

  • @7025730168 Yes if you want early boost. No if you want your turbo to last more than 6 months. Anti lag is good for racing but it just kills the turbo so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have the money to buy a bunch of turbos.

  • oh well thanks for answering my

    Q@rextuner03

  • @7025730168 No problem.

  • aka v-tec

  • AWESOME

  • Numbers??? WHP/TQ

  • I'm not a big fan of civic and teggy vtecs but I gotta admit, that engine sounds nice man,

  • Haha..Honda and Torque in the same sentence.. LMAO

  • how did the camera get that close to the dash

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm good

  • holy. hell.

  • fast

    honda power

  • I have a JDM B16 stock with LS tranny. My 1st hits about 38mph-- 2nd hits about 65 and 3rd hits 100. What transmission do you have in this?

  • @doggystyledave Scrap that LS tranny and get a Y

  • shifting at 7000 rpm is shifting conservatively?????!!!!

  • dam that thing is hella quick dude...

  • That thing is a goddamn monster! I'm not particularly into hondas, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for SC'ed hatches.

  • ur cruise control line isnt connect dats why rpm is not stable

  • true hondas knock... but v8's suck gas like kim kardashian.

  • kim kardashian sucks gas?!

  • dude.... u messed it up. kim kardashian... the "VIDEO"... ur missin out man LoL

  • agreed. VTEC is an acronym for "Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System" (and yes that's correct they just couldn't put all those letters in there). Basically after 4000RPMs your engine stops running as efficiently because the valves don't have enough time to open to receive fuel/air and dump exhaust. VTEC actually works like a 2nd camshaft by increasing the size of the lobes thus opening the valves further. It also adjusts the timing to accommodate. And yes you can hear it.

  • its Valve Timing Electronic Control to be exact lol

  • Variable Valve Timing Electronic Control ;), It just engages a vtec cam lobe which is bigger than the other so it allows the valves to be open a little bit longer which on these motors helps the powerband at high rpms. It doesn't necessarily give it more power but it keeps that band of power going straight and consistant at high rpms.

  • @Roadrash1991 finally someone who actualy know wtf they are talkin about ha good shit

  • OWNED! Finally someone who knows what there talking about lol

  • @Roadrash1991

Get any DOHC motor with aggressive cams - "vtec" is on all the time then. Why brag about a fuel economy gimmick? This is why the rest of the world laughs at honda owners.

  • @Alex3000GT Uh what? It's not exactly just for fuel economy dude. The higher lobes of the vtec camshafts are absolutely horrid at low rpms. Do you know how cam profiles and air flow works? The lower profile of vtec causes the engine to produce almost the same amount of torque as the higher lobes. The lowest part of the torque band in a DOHC VTEC engine is right when the vtec engages. Other than that, the torque curve is almost constantly flat from 2k-7k rpms.

  • @Alex3000GT There's no reason to have vtec on all the time. All that would do is give you shitty power and gas milage under 5k rpm.

  • @Roadrash1991 "it doesn't necessarily give it more power, but it keeps the band of power going" HMMM that makes sense.....

  • @chuckjr02 Opens the valves more so more fuel and air can get in and more exhaust out... it keeps the powerband straight instead of say decreasing in HP after a certain RPM

  • @chuckjr02 That's because he didn't word it to be taken 100% literal. VTEC changes the cam profile at a certain rpm which allows more air flow into the combustion chamber at higher rpms where you need to intake/expel more and more air/exhaust. Which in turn allows the engine to continue producing it's max torque whereas another engine will start losing torque quickly because it simply cannot move more air.

  • @Roadrash1991

Is this right? What you just defined sounds to me a Dual Over-head Cam which (I thought) was something else entirely. I thought VTEC was an electronic controlling of valves.

What's the difference between VTEC and DOHC?

  • @integra653 DOHC is the cams in the engine...VTEC is a brand of an engine. Ford has DOHC, Chevy has DOHC. it's the placement of the cams/how many cams. VTEC is honda

  • to be exact its variable valve timing and lift electronic control... if you are going to correct someone, you should be correct yourself

  • The actual LETTERS you tard

    V....T....E....C....

    the actual LETTERING stands for

    Valve.. Timing.. Electronic.. Control..

Variable Valve Timing Lift Electronic Control would be...

VVTLEC. Know what i'm talking about before you make such a stupid comment. I know what vtec is and i was talking about the lettering on the phrase "VTEC"

  • @cripton805

haha i bet you researched that. lol oh wait but you know how its actuated... and of course im sure you know how to explain the diffrent stges vtec has right?? lol go search it up so you can comment back on this like you know what your talkin about.

  • Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control you fucking retard wannabe racer faggot. FTMFL

  • and hondas knock

  • o bye the way v8s rock

  • yeah but what if there was a V8 Vtec......hmmmmm

  • I'd be pointless because Vtec is made for Four or Six Cylinder motors where most of the torque and horsepower is at a much higher RPM. V8's have all low end torque..

  • it wont be though. then the engine would be too big.

if they make one once the vtec kick in the tired would spin all day

  • @bobtheswan92

hah ots called ferrari thats who honda stole the vtec frm and put a name on it and produced it

  • it might jest be a southern thing

  • must be :)

  • @lawnmaster111 oh its not we love our EG's in the great nothwest as well

  • dose any one ever see this besids me everey time i see a older honda its all ways primer gray or its missing a bumper orits got ductape on it i or its like5 difrent colers swear it seams like thay allways have those stuped fart can exzausts on thim that wake u up at night win thay drive buy at like 3am or the sound systom costs more than the hole car

  • you gotta Un connect Hose in da bak of da manifold Ma bro civic was like dat now its fix i think its a Vac hose der should be one bak der

  • there made to redline and im geting my supercharger soon :)

  • damn man i love american muscle, but that honda is damn fast!

  • power/weight ratio. a muscle car with the same amount of hp would be way slower because of the weight.

  • @yungc1019 most muscle cars have more then 150hp...

  • Wow, not a rice fan here either, but i'll admit if somethings quick, and that seemed quick.

  • i bet u own one lol

  • i dont get why people put so much money in these cars that are worth next to nothing from the go and are still worth nothing when their done.

you cant make a car thats worth $5000, worth $20,000 by dumping $15,000 into it.

and they still sound like poop.

  • u can hear the vtec

  • @scruffythewild

what the fuck does vtec sound like? all i can hear is the fart cannon.

  • yes you can hear Vtec and feel it dumb ass. I own a 1997 Acura Integra GSR with Jackson Racing supercharger and popping VTEC at 4,500rpm. On my set up when VTEC pops it's like 40hp so trust me you can hear it and feel it. And VTEC opens a bigger loube or something like that on the camshaft it's not just more fuel.... read up on it

  • VTEC doesn't give you a boost of power, or give you more fuel and air. It just keeps the valves open longer for more fuel and air to get in..

  • well if thats what it does i would say that it does give more power. Sorta like an intake, intake manifold, headers, and exhaust. Valves are very important. If thats the case a turbo would be just forced induction/ PSI and not really "power"

  • huh. you are just another honda hater. if you hate hondas then fuck you and your pos car

  • dont hurt the poor baby redlining:(

  • go fuck ur honda

  • my first car was a 1985 escort 20years ago and it could beat that.

  • please niggas dont hate on hondas...if u dont .like hondas point blank fuck u

  • fuck yo honda point blank!

  • hondas in general are probably one of the most hard running cars yu can drive.. they can take a beating and keep going they dont brake down easily.. i gotta auto integra with a 75 shot nitrous and i guarntee yu bring that sti around ill shit on it. haha stis are too much for too little for 15xxx yu can build a 10 second honda no doubt even fASTER

  • hey acuraivas is nitrous the only modifide u did or did u build ur engine with ur auto im just asking cause i plan on building a ls auto just for kick i wnn a see if its possialbe to make a auto faster by fi or nitro

  • well i just had a cold air intake custom exhuast and strut towers.. headers and port and polished heads would def. make car run faster but i sold mines already.. and it pull real hard with that shot of n2o

  • @acurarivas

You can make a 10 second honda!

    ...with $25,000

in my opinion, you shouldn't make hondas 'race' cars. they're great for driving to work and stuff, but don't race them. And yes, i am a 'ricer hater' RICER hater, i don't hate hondas. i just hate ricers.

and yes, ricers and hondas are diffrent, any car can be riced out, hell, i've seen a riced out mustang! (i died a little on the inside).

  • nope you can buld a 10 sec. honda with $6,500 if you know where to get good shit from.

  • @yungc1019 even if you could, you're still wasting 6,500$... that investment will not increase the value of the car.

  • if you know the right places to sell it. you can definately increase the value

  • but it would beat a mustang that is way more than that ha

  • i had a friend who had a 10 sec honda hatch with about 10000!

  • what kinda gears? never seen a gsr do 80 in third.

  • hahaha i love these fuckin internet warriors, talkin shit cause they cant get off their mommas tit.

  • sti are garbage

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaa... not too sure about that.

  • oooo there awd and need a turbo to go fast lol common take it off and then all you got is a slow awd car point blank

  • all hondas are slow fwd cars point blank.

  • and annoying

  • slowbarugt you are a fucking fag.

and yes it is slow because he's probably running a LONG-GEAR RATIO GSR TRANSMISSION. he also probably didn't upgrade his fuel system, as well as get a proper tune. i'd like to see your sti come take a pass with my eg.. 320whp and 236wtq.

  • fast for a 4-banger

  • dats one fast ass carr haha

  • ~13 sec to hit 100?

    thats a "fast ass car"?

you need to get out more.

  • MPH......... idiot

  • no shit moron. i can read the damn cluster.

13 second 0-100 is not "fast ass car"...if you truly think that you live a sad sad slow ass life.

stock 335i's hit 100 in about 12.5. thats before the juicebox...

sorry you live the life of slow as fuck hondas. when you see me barreling down the interstate and you see my hood scoop get the fuck out of the way. im damn tired of "racing" slow ass hondas when i pass in the right lane.

  • honda will kick your ass in reverse!!

  • ha yeah right! ;D

    AMERICAN MUSCLE ALL DAY BIAATCH!

  • from your videos i assume you drive a automatic Subaru legacy gt? its stated that the 2007 Subaru legacy gt 0 to 100 time is14.9 sec,so do the math i guess you could figure it out while your looking at this "slow ass hondas" tail lights im sure you payed around 20k or more for that car and him around 6k or 7k..13 seconds is not a "fast ass car " its quick but your not driving a fast ass car either.

  • ummm....i did a simple reflash fool. and i have leather, awd, butt warmers, a quiet interior, garage door opener etc. what that shitic have?

i dont want a shit stripped out honda shitic. and ive crushed every honda/acura ive come across.

sorry i dont have your budget. dont confuse yours with mine.

and i never said i was fast ass. 13 sec to 100 is not "fast ass"...

my 60-100 with a passenger is right on par with the earlier sti models without. just a reflash.

    enjoy my turbo exhaust.

  • and if i wanted a stripped out pos shitic i think i could easily get one.

6 k is a waste on that pos. id rather get an fp green installed and spend the other 1k on a new watch.

buy a brand new civix loaded add the features and awd that i have then turbo it. id bet you be spending waaay more than i have.

    keep dreaming boy.

  • only reason i left a comment about what you said is cause you where talking like you drive a dragster.just cause you raced some hondas and beat them dosent mean all of them are slow do some research honda's have alot of potential and proven they do.Get off your high horse and dont get "your budget".confused with mine because you have know idea who i am.

  • Lol? As if the BMW does 0-100 KPH in 12.5 seconds... come on... you knew he was talking about MPH.

  • quick tegggie

  • im rockin the orange needles on my hatch too.....looks sick!

  • Fuck yeahh

  • pretty quick.

  • weak

  • Says the faggot with fishes all over his profile.

  • b16 tranny??

  • Its a B18C JDM tranny, horrible match for this engine in retrospect, B16 would have been much more ideal

  • how do you know what tranny would match with an engine?

  • @hoperegrine Yeah it would for it's low gear ratio...

  • Transexual

  • That's quick...

  • bouncy ride?

  • Any car that can bring the owner from point a to point b with a smile on his face is a good car in my book.

  • amen to that
