The camera is recording the sun as a bunch of zeroes in the digital code, so it displays it as black because it can't register that brightness.

I really enjoyed that video. Most videos that go on for a while made by using GoPro unless they're something really cool. Like this. I would usually turn them off mid way. But this kept be entertained for the full set time. Really loved it. Great Job keep up the good work!

@startazz Hey Ian, I have the 1st generation gopro hero cam wide version and just purchased the gopro hero cam HD model. The HD model is the wide screen version to my knowledge as it does 16:9 in HD. The one that I bought is the HD model and as far as I know they all have the 5mp picture function. I bought mine from a local store in town just a few days ago, but have done some testing with a friends HD model about two months ago. Trying it out myself and will post a vid soon.

Great video, and picture, and flying! I expected to see some vibration from the motor on the video, saw none. Very cool how the Hero seemed to auto block the intense light of the sun. I could still see pretty good quality picture even when the sun was front & center. Must get one of those cameras, better picture than many $1,000 cameras.

why do you put your hand down at the end of the video...? With back weight at the center, the pitch would be right you just have to accelerate more, like use prolly 75% on the joystick at certain height then bring it down at lower incriments over an average period of time... you can learn how it falls when your actually really high up their and draw a line.... I just didn't like that one caption... But other then that it was pretty awesome man... I loved it.

@HEMPAtheDIRTRIDER The go pro is supposed to withstand 1500g impacts, I've heard of people having them off at over 120mph on a motorcycle on pavement, just to mess the case up, but the camera survivces!

Nice inverted flight! I got like that unintentionally once and forgot the controls were reversed. I ended up piledriving my Stryker into the ground about about 3/4 throttle (I was trying to pull up - WHOOPS) The aiirframe survived!

I'm caseless to save weight (84g or 3oz) but I use the protective lens from the case. It attaches over the cameras lens. Keep the videos coming.

Save the weight and drag by removing the case and mount. Just tape the camera on the wing.
