I think rory stewart is pretty brilliant in his analysis......I think he understands the bottom line well enough: money and troops will buy dimininshing returns....not marginally cost effective.....

What, exactly, would Stewart recommend in place of the status quo? Like most pundits, he has no alternatives. His only goal is to make money pontificating on shortcomings.

i wouldn't go so far as to call stewart something as lowly as a 'pundit.' (though here he is doing what pundits do)
