Tbh the swords position looks as though its about to go on a upwards counter block i do that all the time, and if you're right handed just imagen the picture reversed.
@celemios Actually, it is possible. Her right hand is holding it from the front and her left hand is behind it, holding it by the hilt normally. Imitate the position and see for yourself.
@manazoa Well I've tried to imitate the position, I have two swords at home, and I would never hold it like that again - I couldn't imitate it perfectly, it's also very painful because of the angle of your left hand. Other possibility is that there is something seriously wrong with my wrist :-D but I don't think so
@celemios That thing looks like a katana or something. Something light. I bet your swords are thick and heavy if they're going to cause pain in your hand.
@shutupiownedu Except for medieval swords which are heavy I also have japanese training sword 'boken' (looks like katana, only made of wood) and I still have to say it is a problem for the left wrist to hold it like this. I don't want to argue, it is just I have tried this pose and it is not very realistic, that's all :)
@manazoa That's a swinging of a sword position not an actual pose. From what the sword looks like and her hand positions, it looks as if she had both hands on the sword with the sword rested vertically, and her body was to the side. Then she swung the sword at a projectile making the photo look like that. By the way, it is a drawing. It's hard to get a photo like that. If you could catch a photo of someone swinging a sword one photo should at least look similar to that.
@celemios Anyone can hold a sword like that. That's the normal way you would swing a sword with two hands at someone. At least when you body is turned to the right. Try imitating swinging a sword without one. You'll see that your hand positions will be in the same position as hers.
@shutupiownedu Man, I don't know if you ever did something with swords, but doing a movement without one is completely different than doing it with sword. The real reason why I would never hold it like she does, is that she is left hander (because of having left hand closer to blade then the right hand) and I am not. And also, with this hand position, it would be pretty weak swing. You should agree at least with that.
@celemios She's not holding it in a concentrated position as if you're posing for a picture. She's swinging it, and her body is moving to the left during the movement. You can just tell by how her clothing looks. It's pointed to the right at the end. And with a sword as sharp as what looks of a katana, that thing will slide right through your neck as if it were butter on toast. Also, I'm right handed, and I'd be quite comfortable with that swing technique. :3
@shutupiownedu Yeah, I know she is not posing, anyway it is just that angle of her left wrist still seems to be incerdible. Doesn't matter, it's just a graphic :)
YEAH its Hans Zimmers Pirats of the Carribean sound!!! But this version is much better!!!

LOL - the picture is just a big fail. It's impossible to hold a sword of any kind like that, only if she had broken wrist.

@celemios Yea, it's definitely not a practical way to hold a sword, that much is for certain. =p
