You dude nice mix! Did you build your vinyl shelves...? If so is it seperate pieces put together or one big unit and what type of wood did you use. I gotta build on!
Alright mate, I absolutely LOVE the 2nd tune. If any1 reading this doesn't know the name it's by Gangstarr & it's called Dwyck featuring Nice N Smooth. Nice mix by the way.

Dude, this is very good. I am impressed that you use vinyl. Not too many people are using it anymore. I own over 1,000 records right now (mostly hip-hop and rnb) so much respect to you.
Isn't the whole point of copyrights to protect the artist ? Then why do labels claim theyre protecting their artist"s rights and at the same time paying the artist very little for their music.
Amen to that. Making an original track listing was the beginning, and making those transitions smoothly each time is what keeps the party rocking man. Just like TonyMOMO said, keep it real son.
Great mix man, how I could just kill a man is the best song of Cypress Hill, Fight the power and gang starr great choice too!! KEEP Going BIG UP from Paris
thats how you do it! all you kids need to take notes from this dude! clean transitions personal track selection (not just whats on the radio or tv) thanks alot for a true representation of how its done Dan Riti 5/5
i agree with what your saying completely, but you must ask yourself, whats a true dj? being able to use vinyls?.. i think a real dj as you say is a musician who can blend music clean and get a crowd going... as for serato, its the next technology in Djing... you still need skills blending its just about convenience of not carrying stacks and stacks of records.
"I can tell from the records behind you YOU'RE A REAL DJ!!"
...and I can tell by that comment that you have no idea what you're talking about! Technology has changed dj'ing and while that "bullshit serato" has made it easier to beat match, it doesn't choose songs for you or give you that "ear for music" which most REAL (ie. talented) dj's seem to have.
So, new dj's quit while you're ahead - or plan on spending countless hours online/in record shops to 'Keep it Real'
the only "problem" i would point out was during the cypress hill x p. enemy transisition those are two powerful songs, hard to transition, you should have intercalate them, with something instrumental.
but you are great, its just an advice, please dont take it offensive :))
Ha Ha! Das Efx Tight! was my favorite track in my Jr High days along with 'jump around'by House Of Pain. Nice to hear Cypress Hill and Public Enemy in your set much props...

How did you do in the online contest?
Question 2. Im one month into DJing now... However I havent touched the mixing end of it yet...
I have a feeling I am subcounsiously afraid of it taking on the challenge of learning it.
Wheres the best place to start learning how to mix?
Loadfaster 3 years ago 2
i did not place in the top 10 for the contest.
best place to start is to learn your equipment then move onto cueing and beatmatching.
