I'm being induced with my second child tomorrow and your video gave me hope to not be afraid. I had an all natural birth the first time and now I'm scared because I have to do it again. I think your family is lovely and your children are all so beautiful! Good job! :)
@Jazz2009ism Awesome! Being induced is tough. I've been there a few times. I have Justus' birth from 9 mos ago where I was induced, hopefully that can give you a little sense of what happens with you get an epidural (I always go into pitocin shock on pit and cant handle them without an epidural). Just click on the picture above to see it if you havent.
Oh this is my other losing weight channel, hahaha! :)
@sillyvanilla Try pronouncing it 'emma Lia' and then you have it right. It's not like 'uhmeliah'. And nope- no food stamps, but that would be an interesting parody wouldn't it...
love the picture where u hold ur baby n ur husband is kissing u =) i cant waity for my baby to be born =) i am also doing water birth =) greeting from Chicago
Seriously people! If you have nothing Nice to say them say Nothing at ALL! The woman just gave BIRTH! You're judgment isn't needed! * Great job Mom*(:
Hi! Did you have her in a hospital setting? I've always wanted to do water birthing when I have my own children, but I'm afraid of something going wrong and not being in a hospital. I didn't think hospitals did waterbirths!
Interesting discussion. The video reminds me of the birth of my first- she weighed the same as Emma- and transition SO fast and then she was THERE! Wow- I have never seen my husband so entranced! For Birth2 we had to decide (Would we allow her to see me in labor.) But it was even faster and he was nearly born in the car on the way there- we ended up pulling over to a hospital on the way to the hospital we PLANNED to use, and he was there with my shirt still on- our daughter saw him right after!
NICE! And how WONDERFUL that the medical community is FINALLY getting that women are right when we follow what our bodies tell us to do! Thanks for sharing this. You birth and family pictures are lovely!
@funnyproduction1000 Yes, it's completely safe. Research it! :) The baby gets all their oxygen from the umbilical cord and will not take a breath under water.
@justjuice1992 Nope, mostly just chatting and giving updates! HAHAHA! I was fully conversational until my water broke and then five minutes later Emma was here.
I am REALLY wondering what it's going to be like this next time (Im due in 8 weeks). We're naming him Justus John Mark, btw. :)
Yup! And they have seen my other births too. They have seen all my birth videos, blood and everything and it doesn't phase them one bit. They don't see it as 'gross' because we never taught them it was gross. It's just someone having a baby to them .:) Thanks for commenting!
@JynMeyer We couldn't have a water birth (not an option at the local hospital), but I was still able to have completely natural, drug-free deliveries with both my girls. Our older daughter (age 4 1/2 at the time) was present for her sister's birth and even got to announce the sex of the baby! Like you, we treated birth as a natural event and nothing "gross," and it's now one of her fondest memories! Congrats!
@FUl0VECk yeah its fine without the child around but with a little girl having to see her mother in pain is wrong especially for a girl that young and why would you let your daughter see your vagina thats the name of the part of the body isnt it want me to say vag or pussy seriously im not a fucking sailor see that is just digusting i mean would you want to see that i would rather stare at myself i never want kids ever and this is the reason why

Thesatifyingsarah I'm only twelve but my moms a nurse specializing in water birth and it has tons of benefits like labor going faster and less paifull it helps baby react calmly and it also is a grate way to help the cervix dialate and tighten faster after birth
@TheSatisfyingSarah because when the baby is inside the womb its basically surrounded by fluids which is basically water. if you have the baby underwater its like they never left the womb until they get the baby out from under the water. its perfectly natural.

a Year ago today I was sitting in this pool with the glow of childbirth on me... telling stories to my nurses who had no clue what to do for this crazy woman who loves childbirth so much.
Hi there, well, I had a natural childbirth but unfortunately not a waterbirth because it all went too fast, she wasn't low enough in the birth canal and they needed to get my daughter out as soon as possible because her heart rate started slowing down. Overall, a very scary experience...there were 3 doctors and 4 nurses in the room with me, pushing on my stomach, etc. :o( Fortunately, my baby is healthy and doing well, just taking a nap as I write this. Maybe next time! :o)

I've heard many people ask if you were actually allowed to give birth in water at OHSU, or if you were made to get out after your water broke. I'm glad you were able to give birth in water! Congratulations :)
They do require you to take a free class, and really- it's more or less to help you understand what to expect.
Birthing is birthing- it's about doing what helps and what is comfortable. Sometimes that is walking other times squatting, and its the same with waterbirth. You learn about situations like if your baby is crowning, you cant stand up in the water and then sit back down since air on the cheek can cause them to take a breath. Otherwise it's all under water.
What a beautiful video! You look so gorgeous during your birthing, amazing! I looked like a wreck! I had a waterbirth a few months ago. Congratulations!
