Thanks, brother...really appreciate your comment and agree with your insight to Jimi's compositions...many of his tunes come off well on the acoustic and having the percussion happening this night was thrilling for me, espceiallt since they had no idea what I was doing..cheers man!
I'll never forget watching Jimi at Sicks stadium, it was raining, but that didn't matter at all, I was with two good friends that have passed away years ago, Jimi and the band of Gypsies had everyone rockin and feeling good!

Thanx Eddie, I received all the last videos you sent me and I really appreciate all of them. I would have liked to thank you for each of them when I received them but I have been really busy and haven't had time.Thank you for all of them, you rock!
Hendrix may have been God, or damn close. We won't reach where he got, but he gave us something to aspire to. "Up From The Skies" is one of my favorites- it is proof that JH wasn't just a phenomenal guitarist but also a songwriter who could hold his own, lyrically and melodically, with the best of '60s songwriters, and a superb, near-jazz-like stylist. And he was prescient: "smell of a world that is burning...maybe it's just a change of climate" decades before "global warming" was a common term.
I agree, Jimi's writing and musical compositional style are second to none...I have always dug the lyrics of this tune and find them just as fresh today...I first performed this as a three-piece in the college bar scene in Carbondale, Illinois, in 1974 ( an Austin-like music town at the time), turned a few heads in doing so...peace!
I'm glad I kept at it...like Jimi says in the Message Of Love, "work hard in your mind and make it come alive"...do glad to share the music with ya, T.!
Thank you very much...yes, the percussionists caught the grooves very well considering they don't know the songs...I was digging them while I was playing, too

Great!!
Always loved these acoustic Hendrix -versions of yours.
Gives a new point of view to these songs.
Stripped down version shows you the essence of composition itself.
Keep on Jimmin' !!
