@MrMGD92 i suppose it's pretty definitive of their sound in a way. i can imagine a lot of people seeing SGPS as the point where their sound fully matured maybe.
@CloudyandRain It always amazes me that when people name their favorite Beatle albums, this one isn't on the list. Every song on this album is perfect. If I was stuck on a island and could only have one album, this might be it.
@carbonunit57 Hard Day's Night sounds a lot like other music of its time except better. Subsequent Beatles albums are more original and varied. They're also much more personal. For some people that makes a difference. It's a great album but I'd personally take Rubber Soul through Abbey Road to an island first
@rhcp500 I don't think any other group or singer sounded like the Beatles. What I like about a Hard Day's Night is that beside, the title song, you have I Should Have Known Better, If I Fell, And I Love Her, Can't Buy Me Love, Things We Said Today, You Can't Do that and I'll Be Back. I think these are all great songs.
I hear you. For me, this is by far the best pre-Rubber Soul album, and the only must-have before RS. The good stuff on Help! is very good indeed, but there's quite a lot of filler on it as well. But HDS is strong throughout, plus it has a unique glow to it, in that this is the first album they recorded after conquering America. The exuberance is utterly irresistible.
EES Perfect!

always found the white album to be worst. Rubber Soul is my personal fave. It would be Revolver if it didnt have Doctor Robert or Yellow Submarine
