John and Paul crowded out most of his songs, so he released them on his own record and ended up with all the big hits after they broke up, along with Ringo on his records! Lol!
Now fairly said, the song doesn't sound much like how it was later.
Their collective hearts were not in it at this point, They were pissed at eachother. Too bad George didn't write more songs like this when they were getting along.
.. this just has a better feel a better groove better guitars better bas guitar-best = drums than '' the solo george ''all things must pass''... the slide guitar is not there yet but how about johns vocals hes nailing the songs melody as is paul
yeah - the Beatles did Georges songs MILE BETTERthan he and his army of 1000's did on his overblowen ''tripple debut-- john is so putting in the 100% work as is paul and ringo.. IF THE BEATLES HAD done ''my sweet lord'' i bet it would not of sounded like ''he so fine'' hoe could georges army of session players miss that
@sunriseRISE I must say, to me, you nailed it... I think it was John mostly... his I'm an artist and that's what is important... with him gone, George was lost and let Phil Spector fill that space... I wouldn't let that dude into my house.
I wish They Had Recorded This Properly It Would Have Been Great On The Let It Be Album Who Knows if they had it might have been called All Things Must Pass instead of Let It Be but i somehow think John and Paul wouldn't have allowed this
George withheld his songs from Let It Be, only giving two OK songs that did not fit the concept of his planned release All Things Must Pass. He has stated that by that time he was fed up with trying to get his songs on their albums. He had already had the two most popular songs on Abbey Road - "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun". Also, he had "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", a huge hit on "The White Album".
@falungongboy they recorded abbey road after the let it be sessions but they released let it be first so here comes the sun and something had not been recorded yet
Amazing how a song like this would have added to the Let it Be album. There must have been some crazy ego systems going on to have discarded this very complex and soulful of creations from the album. For You Blue is okay. But All Things Must Pass would have been another anchor song. George Martin would have produced a much better Beatles version than the Phil Specter overindulgence. At least by Abbey Road the Beatles didn't dismiss Harrison's best work and properly promoted it.
I Think It's For The Best Because George Did Such An Amazing Job With It During His Solo Career, He Would Have Got Like Zero Support And It Would Have Probably Became Crap With The Minimal Help From The Others That He Would Have Gotten. Although I Do Like The Harmonies On The Chorus This Just Seems Like IT Wouldn't Have Been Treated Well.
@vieatoz This is just a theory. They may have picked Let It Be because it is a longer song. That way it would be easier, to fill up time on a album. Also it sounded as if they still needed to do work, on All Things Must Pass. That's just my opinion, is all.
Such a shame they never finished this great song of George's

Love Ringo's drumming on this.

It may be George's beautiful song, but the sound is The Beatles'. That's the difference.

Found a vinyl LP in Wales with this particular track. Sounds absolutely brilliant through the speakers.

Would have been a lot better than "She's So Heavy" as the last song on Side A of the Abby Road album.

Or maybe George was shrewd enough to hold onto this for the solo record he almost certainly knew was coming.
