"I feel cold inside like a man sleeping on pavement under the bridge of I20 west, and the stress on the face of the man cussing out the atmospher but nobody close enough to hear". For some reason that line really makes me cringe.. I dont know if Gipp meant it like this but I take it as Nobody cares about how you feel inside and nobody care about listening.. Freaking great
All of Goodie Mob showed their ass on this Album. This (and the entire album) is straight hard social-conscious stuff, laced in an Afrocentric paradigm. Goodie Mob needa get back to this. These kids need this stuff and quit trying to fucking hard. Know thyself Afrikan people!
I lived in NY when this dropped. Nothing ever or will compare to it. Mobb Deep was good but cannot compare to Goodie Mob. They put the struggle in a completely different light. I don't care where you from Concrete Jungle or Dirty South (backyard Bush) the struggle is what it is - A STRUGGLE. Ceelo killed every verse every bar dropped on this
remember all the shout outs back in the 90's for each specific year? They never do that shit anymore. I noticed it was mostly a 90's thang. 95 was a good year!
If you from the South then you know that this was our Soundtrack form our street experience. New York had Mobb Deep during this time and we had Goodie Mobb during this time. No disrespect to others but this is OUR experience a different hustle for a different experience. True CLASSIC...!
