  • Great seeing Hextall get nailed. He was an idiot with a short fuse who loved handing out cheap shots and deserved to get some payback...

  • ohh so this is were lucic got the idea

  • I love both these teams. And I doubt Hextall was at all surprised by this given how he and Neely both played the game.

  • if you cant take the heat, get out the kitchen bitches!

  • Im surprised Neely is still alive

  • used his hand for pushing Hextall to the ice, cheap playing by Neely.

  • Neely Rules - Bruins Rule. Ryan Miller's a pussy.

  • Atta boy Cam!

  • That's for you mrs. miller!

  • who are these clown commentators?

  • @jgrewal6611 Canadians

  • always fun to see vicious player go down.

  • If this were any other goaltender, I would have said unfair, but Hextall was known for being physical and he dished it out regularly.

  • I am a Habs fan, and obviously not a fan of the Bruins. But Neely was one you respected. He score on your best D-man, or goalie; he'd take on and would kick the crap out of your toughest guy, and had nothing but heart. Hextall was a bully and nut case...good job Seabass.

  • Interesting to watch this so many years later and see that the NHL still hasn't adequately protected goalies in terms of discipline for blatant hits such as this. See the recent Ryan Miller hit as an example.

  • @hughj34 This hit would've been suspend-able, Lucic's wasn't as blatantly on purpose

  • @senssuck24163 Exactly! Lucic's hit was legal and that's why it wasn't punished. Here you can see how Neely sees the opportunity of hitting Hextall and he changes his skating angle in order to hit him. Both of these guys ( Neely and Hextall ) were amazing players however. They weren't clean, they were rough on themselves and on others. These two were really intense. I'd dare to say today that these guys are legends now. Lucic is one tough SOB as well and I'm a habs fan so I can only be honest!

  • @MyHeadAsplodes His reaction was to lower the shoulder. A lot of people's reactions would've been different, but he's a grinder, so he's been programmed to do that.

I believe it because I have the same problem, that's why I had to quit basketball...

  • @senssuck24163 No, look at Neely's skates. As he sees Hextall, he skates turn towards him. He could have avoided him easily. Sorry I couldn't explain this more in details - lack of space on my previous comment. That's not the work of a grinder. A grinder's job is to keep control of the puck no matter what in order to gain precious time or to create an opportunity when speed and skill isn't there. Of course it involves a lot of physical contacts but what you see in this video is not grinder work.

  • @MyHeadAsplodes woops, meant lucic

  • & Yeah they're all pretty tough, but Lucic is enormous.. that fight with gaustad

  • @MyHeadAsplodes i disagree its hockey you can play with an edge. id say ppl like matt cooke, ulf samuelson and players of that ilk are dirty. neely would hit, fight and score but he would go for knees or hit from behind purposely and neither would lucic. and hextall wasnt a saint either. he re invented how goalies play the puck. being a habs fan and seeing u stick up for lucic means u know hockey whether u like him or not. how do u feel about some of the diving the habs are known 4 lately?

  • @pat442389 I don't understand how you can say you disagree with what I said while everything you mentionned is pretty much the same as me. If you say that for Lucic's collision with Miller well just look at how far Miller went from his goal just to get the puck. Lucic was going full speed and he was trying to gain control of the puck. Miller got in HIS way, he exposed himself to this, it wasn't Lucic going for him intentionally. As for the Habs comment I brush it aside, that's a stereotype...

  • @MyHeadAsplodes Looch was punished with 2 minutes due to hitting the goalie. Hextall was a hacker and deserved all he got.

  • @Sigp229TRT That 2 minute was only made to calm people down. I love how you talk about Ron Hextall as if he had a shitty career while the guy broke multiple records in NHL history, won Vezina, Con Smythe, etc... And also was the first goalie to score a goal. Nice try man. Hextall is a fucking legend, only someone who never saw him play can claim otherwise.

  • @MyHeadAsplodes Nice try man I watched Hexy play plenty and he was a great goaltender I never said he was not. (read my post) I said he was a Hacker and he was. Only someone that does not know the game would not see that he hacked all the time. No need for the f bomb only a kid uses words like that. At 52 years old I played the game and have watched for far longer than you I am sure.

  • @hughj34 This wasn nothing like that hit dumbass.

  • That's never a good idea, hitting a goalie... but all I can think in terms of legality of it- was Hextail in his crease? I can't tell.

  • Hextall was a hockey player with the mind of an insane WWE wrestler.

  • hextall is the man!!!

  • I grew up in Boston, and actually worked a concession stand at the TD Garden when it was still known as the FleetCenter. I can tell you Bruins fans are very loyal and passionate fans, and other than Red Sox fans, they are the most loyal and hardcore in Boston. The Celtics on the other hand seem to attract a crowd that tends to just enjoy a night at a game rather than the hardcore fans. And the Patriots had no fan base at all until Kraft bought the team.

  • With all this attendance talk i think some people forget that when sinden running the team and absentee ownership.. it was very hard to love you're team especially since they would've gotten rid of the great players. I grew up watching the end of neely and then seeing sinden give away thornton, guerin, allison, and so many others thats it was disgusting. Its always funny to hear people in other cities trash the fans of boston. Its hard to find a more loyal fan base.

  • @BlackandGold84 We're trashing the fans because they're assholes, not because they aren't loyal.

In fact, that may be their biggest "problem." LOL

  • Neely you cheep P-O-S

  • @mSv732 cheep? lol gotta love these kids that have no clue wat the fuck they're saying. neely was like another gretzky with a mans physicallity. neely is the defenition of an "all around player"

  • @spedmonkey1 so your saying that was a clean hit???? What planet are you from?

  • @mSv732 it was at that time...when goalies would come out of the crease to play the puck they were fair game back then

  • Kick his ass, SeaBass!

  • @Broon743 I was literally just about to type this in LOL

  • Its a shame Neely's career ended the way it did, that guy was fucking good

  • Wow. Cam Neely was nothing short of suicidal. I mean, you had to be to do something like that.

  • a legend gets whacked.....

  • he deserved maybe he should to stay in his crease

  • Im suprised Hextall didn't get up and wipe his guts all over the ice!

  • obviously i meant his team lost the finals and he still won the mvp of the playoffs

  • hextall was great, scores goals, could fight, move the puck great, and wins mvp of playoffs when his team wins, he was a warrior

  • I'm a goalie and I welcome that type of play! What comes around goes around. That's the order of things. Guy hits me but, later he's on a break away and gets poke checked and eats the cross bar. EMT's come out on the ice to see if he's still alive. That's hockey! I also feel that every one with this new age type of play and all this dangling crap should get killed out on the ice. Listen kids it's called Hockey not dancing with the puck! Old school hockey still rules!

  • @turfwerks1 Yeah, I bet you didn't fight in Nam just to see some young wipper-snapper dangling the pants off a goalie.

  • @sandmonkey322 Well let's see I was born 3 years after Nam ended so yep I didn't see it and every goalie always has more saves on their pads then goals that are let in. Let me give you an example: Tim Thomas is very close in age to myself and our generation was tought "hybrid" style. Young wipper-snappers don't know what to do when a goalie stands up. They are used to "butterfly" goalies that only have 2 moves. The butterfly and glove that's it. Hybrids have 22 diffrent saves they can use.

  • Dave Shea LOL

  • KICK HIS ASS SEABASS

  • Neely can't do that!!.

  • He diserved it..that stupid ass

  • This is what it looks like when two assholes meet........

  • Hextall was out of line most of his career, real chicken shit tactics!!!

  • KICK HIS ASS SEABASS!

  • @TurkGallant DAMN U BEAT ME TO IT

  • @bshaun2 I was about to say the same thing haha

  • hhahhahhahaahhahahahahahahahaah

  • What a cheap shot. Cam's a pussy. Typical Bruin I guess. And if you don't like Hextall it's probably because you're a douche.

  • @gm28jtr Hall of famer.

  • @gm28jtr Hextall was a psycho, I think he deserved that hit.

  • hextal is a piece of shit not was is!!!!!

  • @jpnobs Roy fanboy?

  • Hextall, as much as all goalies are mentally troubled, was a complete psycho

  • @ArmySniper3 mentaly troubled with big ballz. You have to be bit crazy to be a goalie cuz the pucks sometimes hurt like a mofo :D

  • @ArmySniper3 really and snipers arent, goalies arent psychos, were just different.....doing our own thing in a team sport so shut the hell up. and dont bag on goalies

  • @omarkole You dickmuncher, I've been a defenseman all my life, and I've taken some hard shots for the sake of taking one for the goalie. So don't tell me to stop bagging all goalies, because I love goalies, and every hockey fan who knows the red line from the goal line will tell you that you have to have a special mindset to play in the freaking net in a hockey game. Go watch a baseball video if you can't take comments on your position you little hoser

  • @ArmySniper3 sorry man tat was my cousin i just wrote the doing our own thing in a team sport part he added the rest sorry

  • hextall was a piece of shit

  • @beatleboy9020001 Yup. In plain English. I met him in person and he's a big a dick as you think.

  • @Quillons1

    many goalies are

  • Remember when Felix Potvin beat the shit outta Hextall? Hahaha...he's a puss.

  • I miss this kind of hockey.. Hextall was very good goalie. But Hextall can be dangerous :)

  • YEAH...Fuck you Hex !!!

  • Hextall = My 2nd favourite Goalie

Cam Neely = My 2nd favourite Bruin :D

  • He's crying about being hit but he freely two-handed people. What a badassssss...

  • worst trade ever? vancouver trading neely and a 1st to boston for barry pederson.

  • @rodz0r

    worst canuck trade for sure

  • At the end: "There you go! Have a super sleep!".

  • kick his ass sea bass!

  • Holy fuck that guy that hit the goalie got his ass kicked i bet.

  • @MeowRewind You clearly don't know your hockey legends..........

  • @MeowRewind "that guy" LOL

  • @MeowRewind

cam neely get his ass kicked? are you retarted there were very few who would take him on and there were very few who could beat him you dont know your players or legends and no he didnt get his ass kicked

  • this is kinda cool, but it's also kinda bullshit. goalie interference?

  • @Tbagurdrumset94 actually, at this time in the NHL anytime a goalie was out of his crease he was considered fair game. Outside of the crease he was just another defenseman, so a clean hit is a clean hit. Of course it doesn't hurt that the hit was on Ron Hextall...

  • @FallenSparrow

actually, i didn't know that. when i think about it, that should be a rule today. goalies that come out and play the puck should be fair game, as long as the hit is clean. like that carey price and cam janssen collision. it was actually more price's fault than janssen's, price sorta cut him off from the puck, and janssen had nowhere to go but forward

  • @Tbagurdrumset94 Right, I completely agree. And the Price-Janssen situation is the perfect example. Goalies nowadays can do no wrong, and so they think they can run out behind the net or wherever and do what they want because whatever happens they'll bitch about interference. I say, if you're in your crease you're protected. Step out of the crease and face what your defensemen have to face every minute of the game. The NHL is way too easy on modern goalies.

  • @FallenSparrow As a goalie myself I disagree with you a little bit. It should only be if the goalie goes out to play the puck that he becomes fair game. Coming out and challenging the shooter is a different story. I've been hit plenty of times behind the net and it's always ruled as incidental contact. Of course, the ACHA and NHL are very different.

  • @FallenSparrow I'm a goalie 23 years and this is what's up. Now days goalies are shit. I'm talking about new ones. They have 2 moves: A. the butterfly B. glove save. Predictable to say the least. Now guys in the NHL that are my age (34)who grew up when it was still rough and had to work with the times as the game changed are hybrid goalies. We have 16 diffrent saves we can use. We were able to take a check and play the puck. Now days their is no more interferance everyone in in our blue area.

  • @Tbagurdrumset94 it's always been the rule that if a goalie is playing the puck they are fair game. Most of the time we don't get checked is out of curtesy. Also if some one did check a goalie they are looking for a fight. this has been known in hockey for years now.

  • @turfwerks1 A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease. The appropriate penalty should be assessed in every case where an attacking player makes unnecessary contact with the goalkeeper. However, incidental contact will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing the puck outside his goal crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such unnecessary contact.......right form the rulebook. Been that way for years.

  • @buttkick22 Was the rule the same in the late 1980's when this collision occured? I doubt it. Plus I doubt Hextall needed protection from anyone. He was the toughest, nuttiest goalie in hitory! If someone crashed his crease, and he felt they didnt belong there, he meded out his own brand of justice! Just ask Chelios! You must be a Motreal, Toronto, Buffalo, or Ottawa fan!

I bet the incidental contact rule was new, or non existant when this collision happened, homer!

  • @SlipSlydinLydin maybe u should look it up lol

  • @buttkick22 The rule (69.4) wasn't implemented until the 1999 aseason, therefore your comment is irrelevent.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin that's why i told u to look it up. I sure as shit wasn't about to.

  • @buttkick22 If having someone else look up a rule, that validates your mistake, makes you feel better than looking it up yourself, then mission accomplished!

You obviously looked up a rule to quote it verbatum, so you took the time trying to disprove someone else's comment. I guess you only want to look things up to be argumentative, and not to find the correct answer! You should go to law school! lol

  • @SlipSlydinLydin nope i was at the vid in the right column involving hextall getting nailed. IN the description of the vid, the creator quoted the rule. It was kinda' hard to miss lol. I don't spell check and i usually don't look up specifics for youtube. I have people like you for that...

  • @buttkick22 He didn't quote any specific rule. He made a generalization about being "fair game." You qouted the rule verbatum. "A" for effort though, sport! I bet if I grew up in Buffalo, I'd hate looking up facts also. Like the fact that Buffalo is one of the worst cities to live in America.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin you're clearly not looking at the right vid genius. Nice way to talk crap about an entire city over a mere hockey vid on youtube hahaha. You must come from a real great family...

  • @buttkick22 turfwerks1 wrote, "it's always been the rule that if a goalie is playing the puck they are fair game." Then you quoted the rule & wrote, "...right form the rulebook" in your reply. I think it's pretty clear that you're the one that is having a hard time following here. But being that you are from Buffalo, I didn't expect you to be an intellectual giant. Your city's slogan is "Buffalo. For Real." Is that a joke? Your slogan sucks almost as bad as your city does.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin Bahahahahaha. Once again, I'm not talking about this vid. I said "Nope i was at the vid in the right column involving hextall getting nailed. In the description of the vid, the creator quoted the rule. It was kinda hard to miss lol.". I even gave u another out by saying "You're clearly not looking at the right vid genius." So u had 2 opportunities to let it sink in but u failed both times. If u can't grasp something so simple, there's no talking to u. You have no credibility LOL

  • @buttkick22 Do you really think that I'm going to jump to another video to see whether someone else posted a rule there? The fact is that YOU posted it here. If you had to go back to another video to copy and paste the rule, then you DID look it up. The fact is that you looked it up, even if it was from another video and not the rule book.

Now enjoy the football gsme this weekend! Pats 38, Buffalo 24.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin bahahahahaha u think the score is gonna be that close? I disagree. The bills are garbage. Pats 45 bills 13........and when the creator of the vid has it in his discription, it takes literally seconds. Def takes a lot less time than looking up when the actual rule was implemented on a whole nother site...

  • @buttkick22 The Patriots defense is awful, so if Buffalo only get's 13, then they suck. Chad Henne threw for 400 yards against the Patriots, & Fitzpatrick is better than him. Plus the game is in Buffalo. Vegas has the Patriots as 8 point favorites to open, so if you think that 14 was not enough, you must know something Vegas doesn't, and should be loading up against your own team.

  • @buttkick22 So you think by predicting a bigger blow out, you're setting yourself up for a no-lose situation? It's in Buffalo, and the spread is only 8. So either A, you're putting big money down on N.E. with your bookie, or B, you're setting it up so no matter what happens Sunday, you don't feel foolish.

    I'm going with plan B.

I guess Buffaloneans pick and choose which teams to support. In Boston, we support em' all even going 86 years between titles. You have no balls, not backing your team.

  • @buttkick22 So you think by predicting a bigger blow out, you're setting yourself up for a no-lose situation? It's in Buffalo, and the spread is only 8. • @SlipSlydinLydin u ever think that maybe it's because i really don't give a shit about football? I'm a hockey and lacrosse guy. Even when the sabs are terrible, I'm at almost every home game (and many away games). I've never given a shit about the bills lol.......the attendance at bruins games when the bruins aren't doing very well contradicts your statement...

  • @buttkick22 There was a brief period where the fans got frustrated with the owner; when they traded Joe Thornton for a bag of pucks. But they sold out every game last year after collapsing against Philly. The fans weren't bandwagoning onto a championship team.

The Sabres are the only game in town +8 Bills games. Boston has 41 NBA, 41 NHL, 81 MLB, and 8 NFL home games, not counting playoffs, every year. Boston sold out every game to all 4 major sports last year. No other city has EVER done that!

  • @SlipSlydinLydin attendance ranks: 2001: 22nd 2002: 25th 2003: 21st 2004: 21st 2005: lockout 2006: 18th 2007: 25th 2008: 26th 2009: 16th 2010: 15th......and the bruins arena only hold 17,500.

  • @buttkick22 Yes, the Bruins arena only holds 17,500, so even when they sell out, they can't eclipse teams with bigger arenas. Those teamas are either A) in much bigger cities, or B) In small cities with no entertainment competition. (see Buffalo)

Philly is 3 times the size of Boston, & they have never sold out all 4 sports- although I will say that Flyer fans are smong the most loyal in sports. Phillies fans are bandwagoners though.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin i believe those stats are based on capacity percentages and not actual numbers. Red sox fans are very loyal. Bruins fans aren't

"Craig Adams vs Gregory Campbell Jan 15, 2011 - NESN feed"

Copy and paste that and look at the comments under the vid. The flyers kid has the stats and makes great factual points. So i don't really have to re-type them on here.

  • @buttkick22 No, those numbers CAN'T be based on capacity percentages since Boston sold out every single game, smart guy. That would mean that 16 NHL teams sold out every single game this year. That's not possible.

I don't need to copy and paste anything. You can't refute my point of Boston selling out every single ticket to all 4 major sports, so we can leave it at that.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin I didn't list the 2011 attendance. It's really not that hard genius...Boston had a great team and won the cup so for the first time in forever, the bruins had great attendance. Which further proves the bandwagon aspect of it. You claimed that there was only a "brief period" where attendance wasn't good. That's just completely false. I'll leave it at that.

  • @buttkick22 "for the first time in forever." No, it's not the first time in forever that Boston has won. If Buffalo ever wins a cup, that would be the first time in forever.

There are 30 NHL teams & Boston has 3 Cups in the last 41 years. Their gap between titles was shorter than Chicago's 49 year gap, & the Rangers 54, & Detroit's 41. Toronto is at 44 years & counting. Of the original 6 teams, only Boston & Montreal haven't gone 40 years between cups.

  • @SlipSlydinLydin Wow lol. It's a figure of speech. And i was referring to the attendance, not the cup. Please read whatever i send u more than one time. You're clearly having difficulty...

  • @buttkick22 You're saying it proves the "bandwagon aspect of it." In order for fans to hop on the bandwagon, a team needs to win first, then have people hop on. They tied with Tampa for the 4th best record in the Eastern Conference, so how can fans bandwagon onto a mediocre team that just rode a hot goalie in the playoffs? You make no sense. Had Boston won the cup last year with less than capacity attendance, then sold out every game this year, then you'd have a valid point. You don't.

  • Whooo!!! Go Neely he was the shit

  • Then Hextall killed Cam Neely.

  • @RangerChalk4 they never fought and if they did Neely would have fucked up Hextall even though Hextall was a tough dude.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi Its a joke man.

  • @RangerChalk4 it's cool man haha. don't wanna seem like I'm starting shit. Sorry dude.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi No worries. Have a happy holiday.

  • GO BRUINS and NEELY hahaha hextall you bitch :D

  • way to go neely

  • If that was on Broduer 5 minutes and a game!!

  • @villanova85 haha, dummest thing iever heard, broduer wasnt famous for two hand chopping peoples legs man, you wanne be the the tough guy, the guy everyone hate? everyones gonna hate you

  • whatever u do hextall, dont throw the salt shaker at neely

  • ahh thats awesome

  • aha i love it. douche

  • Goaltender Interference!!

  • @DJmcRUSH you cant interfere with a goalie out of his crease, stupid! On top of that, Cam didnt even follow through. He just skated into Ron there.

  • @BoSoxnation1972 Goaltender Interference is an infraction of physically impeding or checking the goaltender. Are you sure you know your NHL regulations?

  • @DJmcRUSH Perhaps you should look the rule up from when this incident occured, you fucking douchenozzle! Back in the 80's, when a goalie ventured out of his crease, he was considered fair game! Dont try and apply today's rules to a game played 25 years ago you fucking moron! LMAO

  • @BoSoxnation1972 You know swearing, and calling me names makes it real hard to take you seriously.

  • @DJmcRUSH Not knowing that there were different rules in the NHL 25 years ago makes it real hard for me to take you seriously. Now get back in your hole, bitch! LMAO

  • @BoSoxnation1972 There have been very few rules changed in the NHL over the past 25 years, especially ones pertaining to goaltending. This is my last response to you because your obviously just a kid you likes to talk big over the internet, who probably has never even played hockey before.

  • @DJmcRUSH There was no trapezoid 25 years ago where goalies were penalized if they handled the puck out of that zone. There was no penalty 25 years ago for goaltender interference for crashing the net. Two line passes werent legal, there were no delayed offsides, there was no shootout. The goalies crease was a rectangle, not a semi circle and they also eliminated 3 on 3 play when 2 shorthanded teams get coincidental matching minors. Thanks for proving that you're fucking retarded! ROTFLMAO

  • @BoSoxnation1972

    epic....skippy.....

    i own you.....lol

  • @DJmcRUSH you are one dumb american hockey fan.

  • lmao even hextall didnt want it with cam

  • No Flyer had the BALLS to go after Cam.

  • @bigbadbruins1 No but ulf samuellsson did :D

  • @thesilenthitman66 and Ulf got his clock cleaned when he dropped the gloves with cam! Ulfie had a shiner before he even got to the penalty box, along with a torn jersey!

  • Ronnie dished it out..so he had to take it sometimes as well.

  • @Boxingbear

He dished it out because of hits like this. Goalies weren't protected then like they are today. If any player now put a hit on the goalie they are going to the penalty box. Back in the 80s they let anything go

  • Now THAT'S old school hockey!

    ~Team Kevie

  • if ron hextall got a hold of Cam Neely hey wold beat the balls of him

  • Cam Neely was a little bitch. Hextall would've killed him

  • @Trinity012

Definitely right there. Hextall would've wiped his ass with Neely.

  • @KevieProductions rotflmao what are you smoking? Hextall got his ass kicked by Felix Potvin! Cam beat some of the toughest players in the game, inclusing Ken Baumgartner, Basil McCrae, and Tiger williams! Hextall was tough for a goalie, no doubt, but cam would wipe his ass with that overrated douchenozzle! Hextall was just crazy...leaving his crease to attack players! Never beat even a decent fighter in his career! Dan Cloutier would smoke that idiot in a fight, although Hex was a better goalie!

  • @Trinity012 Lol idiot, Neely was one of the toughest, Hextall didn't have enough fighting experience to kick his ass.

  • Another reason to love neely.

  • Awesome!!

  • hextall would kick his ass anyday

  • @FlyersFan722 absolutely not.

  • Good he deserved that. Hextall did things worse than that all the time.

  • hextall deserved it. he is just philly trash

  • @jjdea07 and a good goalie.

  • Neely must thank God every day that Hextall never got a hold of him.... I bet he stills looks over his shoulder every once in a while. Hextall was deadly.

  • @btruetken hextall is the GM of the manchester monarchs in NH... an hour drive from cam neely who works for the bruins in boston now... so who knos.... lol

  • Interference.

  • Cheap shot Neely at it again.

  • Ron Hextall would beat the balls off Cam Neely. Come on now. Nice cheap shot Cam. Lucky Ron didn't carve you up like a Thanksgiving turkey, cause we all know he could have.

  • @iLoveMEsomeME81 Cause Ron Hextall isnt well known for cheap shots...oh wait.
