Apple iPad: Connecting a Powered Card Reader

I under stand that we can move the pictures from memory card to the iPad. but I don't under stand how to move the pictures back to the memory card from the ipad. can you explain please thank you.

I tried all kinds of video card readers. Including the one above with failure stating it required too much power. After trying about 11 different readers with the Apple USB adapter, I found the TARGUS 33 in 1 to work effectively with both the Ipad and the Ipad2. Its 12.99 and you can get it at WALMART in the photo department.

I've tried this with my memory stick duo pro and the power light is on the card reader but the iPad does nothing.

@ldygtr08 Make sure the photos are in a DCIM folder.

I bought a griffin simplifi after watching this video because I want to transfer files from CF cards to my ipad. When I hook the Simplifi up just like you show in this video, the power won't come on on the Simplifi. I called Griffin and they told me that the Simplifi will not work with an out of box ipad. They said it will only work hooked up to a regular computer. I told him about your video and they suggested maybe you had altered your ipad?

@leahestern The iPad is not altered or jailbroken in anyway. Make sure you connect the power cord to the hub, the light indicators should light once you plug it into the iPad using the camera connection kit. If this is not happening, then I'm not sure what's wrong. If you have other media cards, try inserting those to see if they work, such as an SD card. I never tested a Compact Flash card since I don't have one, there may be difference but I don't believe that is the issue.

when you do this could you put a movie on a memory card which is in the correct format that the ipad can play it from it. also would this work what i have asked without using a cardreader??

@gamerx101bpn99 The iPad needs to import the video, it can be played directly from the card.

@scottywotty212 Yes, you can transfer videos but they may not playback on the iPad. However, you will be able to import them to iTunes when you dock the iPad to your computer.
