MacArthur was commenting on Joel Osteen's book,YOUR BEST LIFE NOW.He said this book is a dead give away that Hell is your next life if this is your best life.
john 14:13-14 "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."
ummmmm…seems like this guy is wrong. Apparently jesus puts no stipulation on what you can ask for; he just flat out promises ANYTHING!
He's speaking to Christians in the context about doing miracles and evangelism (v.12). In talking to Christians Christ presupposed that they knew what not to ask for. They knew not to ask for things contradicting this:
1Jn 2:15-16Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions--is not from the Father but is from the world
Great video Keith Ive been guility of asking the lord of such things hey god can you do this for me or that. But I should be asking what Ican do for him or what I can do for other's I whish id had this message when Iwas younger or understand all the things I do now it would of made me a stronger christian over the last couple of years ive come to realize that I wasnt being taught what it means to really be christian Iwas only having my ears tickled by whatever church I was going to at the time.

@pineapplejon - Yes there is a stipulation, the Father said, "if it be my Will"! You need to read the whole counsel of God to understand God's Will.
