they don't have any thrust because they arn't set up to give thrust, they don't have any nozles on them to vector the thrust , airliners are built and changed up for speed, not the same tchnoligy because these cart engines wern't first built to give lots of thrust

i think that this machine is for show,why,well you imagine sitting in that thing,with your head in front of the turbine,now what do you think is wrong with that picture,"head in front of Turbine"you sit into the seat,and you have to rest your head against the turbine,but what about your ear drums,it just does not fit..........its not a safe go kart.just study the video,and you will notice that the turbine is behind the seat,there is some thing wrong with that,it is dangerous

SO SO many comments about the 'head near the engine' saga - let me clear this up for once - IT IS NOT DANGEROUS! The air is sucked in here but not as much as you would think. The air is expanded inside the engine so 'more' leaves the output end. If the engine explodes then it does so laterally (out to the sides) and not down it's length so the driver is 'safe' :)

there is too much fuel going into the engine tweak it a bit down so that there is no white smoke the smoke means all the fuel isn't burning so your not getting your full performance out of it :)

mmm, I think that space-ship rocket engines are big turbo-compressors where oxygen fuel is supplied from a tank and compressed by the turbo-compressor for combustion.

To move down a strip the fastest, a jet is the worst way to do it-- temperamental, wimpy torque. Noise is enough to make you deaf- much more appropriate to use in aircraft. The best torque, the simplest setup, no noise, all fun is with an AC motor, and some nanophosphate or nanotitanate rechargeable batteries. I have a question, A decent one at best :). I've been watching these videos for a while now here on YouTube, and i can't figure out the basic principal by watching it alone. So its effective a Turbocharger right? with air and fuel fed into the exhaust side of the turbo?

It's a large turbocharger with the compressor (cold) outlet piped into a combustion chamber. Fuel is added and burnt causing the air inside to expand 'alot'. This air is then fed into the turbine (hot) side and thus turns the compressor and the turbine together via the central shaft. A 'round robin' type affair! The exhaust out is then your thrust.
