Estonia was doubtless more beautiful before it was used by the Soviets as a toxic waste dump; the environment will continue recovering. Yet there is so much beauty only some1 looking through the eyes of hate could miss it. Anything you could want, Eesti has: visual & performing arts, architecture, culture, history, people, food, shopping; in the 3 months of my visit, I missed nothing at home.

Estonia has boring nature. You know that. Cities. Well Talinn is nice, but nothing special. Other cities are not even worth of mention. And Estonia has no any important historical heritage... People? Angry and sad. Food? Disgusting. Shopping? Not important for beauty of some country. Arts? WTF?!

I am sorry, but Estonia sucks.

Re: point # 3, I am not familiar w/the survey you quote & I cannot speak for people living there. If they rank 60th out of 80th for happiness, I don't think that reflects on the worthiness of the people, I think it reflects on struggling w/the effects of Soviet domination.

Nature is never boring. It's alive, always changing, always different. I've experienced that only very simple-minded people refusing to see beauty tell that any nature is boring. Ever been in a marsh when there is sunset or the autumn mist? Ever been in a dark, grim forest at night, listening to the sough of wind?

Food - disgusting? Go and tell that to the German, they have similar food and it has lots of fans.

Nature can be boring. When you drive from Tartu to Tallinn all you can see are bogs and plants. Now just imagine there are cliffs, mountains, hills, canyons, etc... can you find difference between some Saaremaa part and some south or east Estonian part? No? well there is no difference.

Now you mentioned sunset. Well, sunset can look good anywhere, does that means that EVERY part of this planet is beautiful? No it doesn't. Country is only beautiful when you can see its beauty in any part of day.

Islands don't have to be mountainous to be beautiful. They are already beautiful with their high limestone sea banks (Panga, Ohessaare, and so on), harsh and dry nature, junipers and windmills.

As about sunset it always looks pretty, but in some places it's more beautiful. There are a lot of red tones in marshes and moors and when connected with water they look really enchanting in the time of sunset.

And of course I know the difference between Saaremaa and Southern Estonia:)

Islands MUST HAVE mountains, or at least hills, to be beautiful! Just look at most popular islands - for example Ireland - its well know because of green hills! Or Corsica... Or Croatian islands - Mljet, Hvar, Vis... Google them and check how it can be beautiful and compare with Hiiumaa. And you now show off with some Panga cliff... Now just imagine that is not exception but rule. Croatia has places where you in just 5 km distance you can experience beautiful sea and 1700m high mountain!

You have probably seen only a small part of Estonian seaside, haven't you? There are also sandy white beaches, high limestone banks and part of coastline covered in stones. It's good we have a lot of wetlands as a lot of birds like to live there. This is one of the reasons why, for example, Matsalu is a very important bird reservation known amongst the bird observers in all world.

Do you know that Croatia has best climate in all Europe (wanna link?)? We have very much sunny days unlike you. I love this climate, and you would. And we have, just to remind you, 3 differend areas - Mediterranean, mountainous, and continental. Croatia dry?! Croatia has probably most wooded seaside in all Mediterranean, our mountains are green, and Pannonia is very fertile area.

So once again, Croatia isn't dry and hot, we have 4 seasons, and 3 very different climates. How many do u have?

Nobody's said climate is the best part of Estonia so I'm not wanting to argue about that very much. On the other hand yours is not perfect either - I've heard Bura is not very comfortable.

As about dryness I was talking about the coastline and islands you were rendering homage to. Even though the sea was nice and blue I prefer Estonian coastline because of the reasons I've already talked about.

Croatia has about 11 million foreign tourists every year, with more than 60 million overnight stays.Croatia and Estonia are very similar in development, but now when crisis is here, maybe Croatia is more richer than Estonia.Fins love only Tallinn because alcohol is 50% cheaper. Parnu? Its not even coastal city - its just city near sea. For real coastal city Google - Šibenik, Rovinj, Pula, Dubrovnik, Zadar, etc.

The Finnish also visit other places of Estonia, for example Saaremaa is a very popular place - I spend my summer there so I know. Vodka tourists in Tallinn are not that common any more as alcohol has got more expensive lately.

If Pärnu is not a coastal town then I don't know where your information comes from. It has one of the most known beaches in Estonia and it's situated by the sea.

Also I somewhat doubt that you are as developed as Estonia as you still don't belong in EU.

Parnu is like i said, near sea. But, nearest house is like kilometer from sea. Now check city of Korčula, one of about 400 coastal places in Croatian Adriatic - then you will understand what i am talking about.

Only reason why Croatia still is not in EU is Slovenia. But that is one another story for some other opportunity.

Croatian cities - Zagreb, Osijek, Dubrovnik, Split, Makarska, Korčula, Pula, Rovinj, Mali Lošinj, Zadar, Varaždin, Šibenik etc looks 100x better than Tallinn, Tartu or Parnu. we have 10x more tourists.
