It's time to end the shame of infertility. I created a symbol for Infertility Awareness that I hope one day will be our "pink ribbon." You can find it by searching for the Infertility Awareness Symbol or Fertility Hope Pendant. A symbol is powerful and will help open hearts and minds. It is a journey worthy of respect.
Secondary infertility is cruel ... eating at you daily while you are admonished from those without children for not being grateful and told by those with a few to relax - it will happen. Years of treatments, torturing your body and hating yourself for your continued failure - only those sadly sharing your journey understand.
The new candor around infertility is refreshing. I'm also happy that Redbook reached out to those whose stories didn't lead to motherhood. There's more than one way for the infertility story to unfold. As a member of what was once infertility's "black sheep" community--the Silent Sorority--I'm glad the voices of women who are on different paths are now also being heard. I encourage those to share their stories here on the TruthAboutTrying & hear more on my blog {SilentSorority}. Pamela
REDBOOK - this is SO well done! I am proud to be apart of this campaign and feel proud to have my own personal video about infertility as part of this launch. I am excited to share this with my readers tmw at my blog, {A Blog About Love}, where I send a message of hope to all infertile women. Many thanks, Mara K.
@ABlogAboutLove Looking forward to checking out your blog, Mara! I'm also really impressed with the different dynamics and am honored to have been involved.
