  • I respect your opinion, but as great as Meshuggah is they aren't the only Djent band. And Djent is just a style, a style that lots of bands use and play. Like Periphery. Obviously you don't like them but they are a great band

  • @SlickPayne I agree. Now it has turned into a style, unfortunately. Periphery would be good if they got rid of that horrid vocalist. The awful tone I can get past, the singer I can't. he's terrible. He's growls sound like a 1st grader trying it for the first time. It's embarrassing actually. I bet he never growled before he joined this band.

  • @jdmimport13 Yeah his cleans are terrible. But the screams are pretty bad. I hope he gets better, or they get a new vocalist. Haha, actually I wish they had stayed with their previous vocalist, Chris Barretto. He's now in and band called Ever Forthright. If you havent heard of them you should get them out.

  • @SlickPayne Oh yeah I know about Ever Forthright. Thing is I only listen to the instrumental. haha. Chris is a good singer but I don't like clean singing with my metal. I just can't do it. As soon as I hear clean singing, I think of like New Found Glory or something. I can't take it. haha. But they are amazing, the cd is phenomenal.

  • @jdmimport13 Haha, I like cleans if their done tastefully. But yeah Ever Forthright is pretty awesome in my opinion. Way better than Periphery I think.

  • @SlickPayne WAY better than Periphery. I like clean vox when it's like Killswitch Engage or All That Remains. Shit like because the clean vox fit in that music. Post hardcore? Pfffff. I actually feel an attraction for men when I hear that garbage. haha. It's awful.

  • 237 views. Your opinion isn't really reaching a lot of people, which is necessary to give your definition of djent any credibility.

  • @KingOfForest22 Meh. It was more of a personal fixation for my own satisfaction. I didn't plan on changing the fabric of so called today's "djent". Lord knows Misha would send his cock army after me If I tried to dissolve his garbage genre he has created. Why cant we just keep it progressive metal? Some bands of which have good guitar tones. Maybe Shuggah's new album will dissolve it for me.

  • @jdmimport13 Fair enough.

  • You're an idiot. Misha is the one who first INVENTED the fucking word. He invented it, so he invented the definition, which means that anything he says is djent, is djent.

  • @MyxHarnett Wow................Really? God I hope your kidding, If not your in for some lovely comments. Moron.

  • @jdmimport13 Just to stick up for this guy, MISHA CREATED THE WORD DJENT, WHICH HE USED TO DESCRIBE MESHUGGAH's PLAYING.

  • @FiniganMusic Meshuggah forum link is Tan"djent".com/meshforum. Formed in 02. I joined in 03 and Misha joined in 2004. But somehow bulb managed to create the word and convince the creator of the forum to name his band Tandjent and name the Meshuggah forum after it? Is this right? Tandjent was formed between 99-01 LONG before anyone knew who Misha "The lame ass light bulb" Mansoor was. Oh and the owner of the forum and Fredrik are close so you can ask them too about the origin.

  • @jdmimport13 Even if that is true, you can't deny that Misha popularized the word.

  • @FiniganMusic Unfortunately I do agree on that. Meshuggah even said in a recent interview for the new album that they are trying to get out of the Djent scene because of what it has become. That's sad.

  • @MyxHarnett You are dumb, period.

  • @konsco Don't even bother with that kid. He's some 14yo troll that is obviously obsessed with Misha's cock.

  • @MyxHarnett Fredrik Thordendal invented it.....

  • i like how u put on the least interesting meshuggah song and then play a riff much better and talk shit on it lol meshuggahs tight and so's periphery but theyre just different. give oxmodious by periphery / bulb a listen

  • @jamestheshred93 This isn't about the coolest riff. I've heard all of Bulb's stuff I've been following it since the Meshuggah POD cover days. This is about tone. Soul Burn is distinguishably the most recognizable riff when describing their "tone".

  • Nice. I agree. A lot of these new 'djent' bands have no substance. Honestly.

Although, there are a few decent ones. Kevin Suter and Drewsif Stalin are all right, I think.

  • I'll always consider Bulb, Periphery, etc as djent because they play a recognizable tone/sound that gives djent trademark entities.
