  • @raonipaes of course. a popular irish instrument, the tin whistle, is also commonly in the key of d. I hope i helped.

    Being in the key of D does not guarantee that I can play irish music with it, because I don't know if the scale and fingerings are similar to the ones of an irish flute or a tin whistle.

    If they are similar, yes, I can play... but that's what I meant with my question.

  • @Raonisk i am sorry that my previous answer did not answer your question. As long as your dizi is 6-holed (most dizis are) it will play mostly the same fingerings. However, since the dizi's key is based on the 3rd finger hole, to play in the same key of the tin whistle, you would have to get a dizi in the key of G. I hope I helped!
