Ugh! I'm sorry...I've NEVER liked George Harrison's music or that thing he did with Krishna...trying to shove it down our throats. In my opinion, he abused the position of an ex-Beatle by being such a hypocrite. My god, the man lived in an obscene 120-room exotic mansion! Then, he SMOKED HIMSELF TO DEATH. So much for the "spiritual" Beatle!
My only complaint, too short. Need more video of this amazing talent named Sam Brown. Please send me a note when ever this lady is playing live again.
Sam is an English girl, the daughter of Joe Brown who was a singer at the time of the Beatles emergence and has been "treading the boards" ever since. Sam had a hit with "Stop" and has been around a long time. This appearance proves she is fantastic!
Check her out singing 'Kiss of Love' accompanied by Jools Holland and Dave Swift - different style of song, but it demonstrates some more of her range...
This blew me away the first time I saw the DVD, and gives me chills on every subsequent viewing. Wow. There was a full video of this on here a few years ago, but it was taken down. She's awesome!
Don't know if I'm wide of the mark here, but I thought it a bit of a poor show that Clapton introduced Sam, Jim Capaldi and Jools Holland off a sheet of paper.
I agree that Sam Brown does really make this concert for George. I'm sure he loved it too, wherever he is in God's realm, as it is the highlight of this show, along with "I'll see you in my dreams".
I like the Browns: Sam and her dad Joe. She should have done a lot more than Stop! isn't she better than most of those boring singers that come from the X Factor and American Idol?

kf40 - Not to rain on your parade, but honestly...haven't we all seen this SAME performance before? The same everything...over and over again. There seems to be nothing new in music.
Isn't it ironic that we now celebrate the enormous talents of the Beatles with mediocrities? Ugh! It's just too painful.
Her hit single was "Stop!". An awesome, incredible and worthwhile performance.
Although I lived in Europe almost 20 years I
hadn't heard of her until I went to see a Jon Lord concert in Munich where he shared the bill with her. Jon Lord is great, she blew everyone away with each song. Why do we have to endure lip synchers when she is around????????
Man, I saw the tribute on a fund raiser for Public TV and I ordered the CD immediately after I heard this song & IT WASN'T ON THE DAMN CD! I was ready to ask for my money back! In my opinion Sam's was the BEST performance, although most were really good too. The full version was on You Tube & I couldn't get enough, but as fate would have it, it was removed.
i fell in LOVE with her voice when i heard this song on the George Harrison tribute. i wish i could here more of her but i guess she's not as popular as i thought. too bad, this was my favorite song on the DVD
The original performance of this by Sam was very powerful, and she's extraordinary. This clip is a pretty poor facsimile of what was in the
Concert for George film. At one point, many of the original clips were on youtube. I guess this was taken down. I can't find Jeff Lynne and Anoushka Shankar doing "The Inner Light" either. I guess they need to sell DVDs
As much as I love Clapton, and I truly do, Sam Brown's rendering of this song was the high point for me! Great job! Is this rehearsal footage (looks like a different take than the DVD performance)?
I am sorry, I should not be rude in my comment. Respect your opinion, I only think Sam Brown has a skilled voice and few times you can hear that powerful singin, there is another video kind of dificult to find, in where she is in concert and sings the same piece, is simply great. Cheers!
Stupid hat, stupid song....stupid video!

@FrightwoIf
George quit smoking several decades ago. Anyway, spiritual does not equal perfect. Nobody's perfect.
onlymikey 2 months ago
@onlymikey - He stopped smoking only because he was
now sick. Of course nobody is perfect. However, you
wouldn't know that if you went to many Harrison videos
where his fans insist he's a bona-fide saint. His perspective
on life and the Beatles was strangely bitter and negative
lending hypocrisy to his otherwise "spiritual" posturing.
He falls from a lofty perch of his own making. Even his
documentary "Living In A Spiritual World" suggests
George did not LIVE what he PREACHED.
FrightwoIf 2 months ago
@onlymikey CORRECTION: His film is titled "Living In A Material World".
