  • those 35 dislikes are probably junkies, no doubt

  • i am actually lost for words ;)

  • God Save the Zimmermann

  • Masterful! Am I correct in perceiving that his instrument is strung with only 3 strings? Wonder what the logic is to the strategy (though he obviously has one!)...

  • @Grymmorgan What? No, obviously there are four strings on that violin, why shouldn't there be? The e-string is kinda hard to see at some points, put you can CLEARLY hear it, otherwise he'd have had to tune up his a-string pretty darn high, haha.

  • Awesome!!

  • Just ' highly gifted ' ? ' virtuosi ' would be better !

  • Chuck Norris' german cousin

  • This is a Stradivarius from 1711. Just wow.

  • The way he ended it was just... bad ass = D

  • straightest bowing in the world.:0

  • anda bien con los dedos este gaucho

  • oh man look how it sounds at 3:32!!!!!!!

  • ótimo; o som do violino é maravilhoso; um grande solista

    samuly1@live.com

  • Hay! :D Especially the last part - how the king be back with the God-deaf's vương miện

  • There are 33 deaf people

  • Concert master = pissed

  • fuck you and your left hand pizzicato! =/

  • Bravo !

  • ele toca ainda??

  • this isnt even fair

  • Speechless.

  • How the hell does he manage to do all that left hand pizzicato???!!!! All I managed to do is one note! This is one of the hardest pieces ever written for violin! well it is paganini after all, what do you expect? I'm blown away!

  • that pizzicato is incredible....

  • thats how you fuckin do it. thats what virtuoso means.

  • WHOOOAAA

  • the best!

  • Impresionante este video siempre me gusto increible FraNk Peter Zimmermann!!!!!

  • impossible!

  • it's beatutiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Certified Intergalactic! Unequaled!

  • Thanks for sharing! Definitely marvelous!

  • unbelievable !

  • second note is wrong....

  • @bernhardlanger no its not.....

  • @bernhardlanger you re brain is rong

  • @milstein91 listen again, closely. and then come back and say the second note is right....

  • @bernhardlanger you re clearly not a violinist, probably not even a musician. That noise that you hear is from the humidity of the bow hair, and that's not a rong note.it's not even his fault...

  • @milstein91 i play the violin for 20 years now. this sound occurs when you push your bow too hard when changing strings. please don't try to talk about something when you got no clue, thanks.

  • @bernhardlanger hahaha sure and i am heifetz

  • @milstein91 first of all, i really like discussing with people like you. first you tell me my brain is wrong, then you say i couldn't be a violinist, while i play the instrument for 20 years. great, i really appreciate this style!

now, about your comment. i thought about not answering anymore, because i know im right and you're wrong. please do me a favour and grab your violin (if you have one), play the a or d string and move over to the e string quickly - you will hear exactly that sound.

  • @bernhardlanger but that is not a rong note,i know what are you talking about, but that s not a fucking rong note a rong note is when you play an c sharp instead of a c!

  • @bernhardlanger It's not from pushing the bow too hard, it's from moving the bow with too little pressure to compensate for the speed at which is it moving. Who cares, it's barely noticeable. You can't play like him so just hush.

  • Violin impossible.

  • this is amazing

  • I wish he'd clean up his ricochet stroke a little towards the end there, but otherwise its flawless

  • To violinists, the title should be changed to "God damn it"

  • @harrison28514

    DAMN UR ASS

  • oO very different from god save the queen '-' anyway nice~~~~

  • Bravo!

  • Great virtuosity. Bravo !

  • fantastic

  • O.o

  • excelente!!!

  • i like how all the orchestra players can do is just sit there and smile, with genuine affection for his playing.

  • @bachboy111 Or maybe they're doing what the floor manager wants :P Yeah he is fantastic.

  • the concentration on his face is unbelievable - but i suppose so is his playing

  • : o

  • ...wow he is banging his left foot many times in the piece ...listen it with earphones...every little period he strongly bangs his foot especially in 4:25 he makes a strong sound ..!!!!!!! he is amazing and he has lots of energy !!!!!!

  • Too many notes

  • @rucaspapel watch movie "Amadeus"

  • Wow that was really nice and smooth although I didn't like near the end when he started playing with his fingers and struck the chords but that is my personal opinion so nobody hate on me saying how I'm really wrong and that I know nothing but the rest was really good

  • Certified Intergalactic! Never tire listening to this. I keep coming back. Zimmermann has the best rendition of this Paganini masterpiece.

  • I envy his coordination and concentration

  • I envy his coordination and concentration

  • Bravo sir!

One thing is bugging me however, what happened to variation 5? He went straigh from Var 4 to Var 6. I completely aprove of the alterations though, like the pizz run at the end. Fantastic playing.

  • where is the staccato part?!

  • I love how he looks at the audience just before plucking the last note!

  • I'm in love with his pinky ^^

  • It is rather a kind of circus than music (highly admirable technical skills of course)

  • God save Frank Peter Zimmermann!

  • 3:30 is so goood!

  • estudiar estudiaestudiarr

  • the 29 ppl who dislike are wierd.

  • Yeahh, I'm 400.001 viewer!!

  • @pouprey

    i was 399,999 that day...

  • I think he reminds me of "The Octopus" an English Military Music Student ( Female) whom I met at The Royal Military School of Music in 2006.Her name was Tina...........? Can't remember her surname. She was just simply amazing on several instruments at one time.

    Kenrick Francis

  • this is it

  • O u ch!!!!!

  • o u C h!!!!!

  • The other violinists with the face of "OH MY GOD" LOL

  • Wow x3!!!!!!

  • Wonderful Haraw

  • so great ...

  • there is not much to say

  • paganini from another planet...

  • apparently so he is highly gifted... his mistakes sounded so great they didn't even seem like mistakes

  • you can hear several of the themes from paganini's "24 caprices for solo violin" come out in this peice.. remarkable playing!

  • molto bravisimo

  • Comment removed

  • lol the guys funny as well XD

  • If I can only play like those violinist at the back.... That will be good enough for me... Hahaha

  • Love it thank you God! :)

  • Genius. BUT! Did he play the part at about 4:12 to 4:20ish completely correctly? It was awesome but it sounded slightly off to me? Like many youtubers, I am among the best violinists on earth, so I really know what I'm talking about. Seriously, though?

  • @TheGrimAvenger I too am an established violinist.. knowing what I'm talking about I will lose no sleep saying that you are right. he did NOT play that as written or as intended by paganini. in versions of this piece that I have from different publishers, at that part it says add int. or whatever.. granting the violinist (reasonal) amount of room to work with the section so it was most likely interpretation :)

  • yeah he skipped a part

  • @TheGrimAvenger : Your comment is responsible for splatters of drink on my lcd, And I am one of the best drinkers on youtube, nice!

  • the man behind him with that 100% fake smile it's so fucking jelous!

  • @jasonform he's also probably a violist lol

  • My cat can sing every note Paganini ever composed.

    Though not in fast succession.

  • what a chode

  • Very fine playing~

  • why is everyone so impressed? have you watched the kavakos version?

  • @Wtfpwnkkthxbb Oh, I see. You're not impressed? Can you play that?

  • @logodaedally I can't play proffessional football either, but i wont go nuts everytime i watch someone kick a ball.. I cannot play that but i can recognize the difference between this guy and a world class violinist. He is good, but not good enough to be idolized like that.

  • @Wtfpwnkkthxbb the reason people are impressed is because its good and if FPZ is not "world class" i sure wonder who is...i mean, every good violinist has their weaknesses and strengths and that is what puts personality into their playing. if you like the kavakos version that's fine but its not better because its faster, in fact (and I love kavakos), i think this version is a whole lot more impressive because it is controlled and you can hear every note, it doesn't sound crazed....

  • @Wtfpwnkkthxbb How am I 'idolizing'? Please do not go around saying biased things like that.

I still don't understand how you are not amazed! He is playing a very difficult piece!

  • i like the way he was at ease with the left hand pizzicato...not that the double harmonics were any concern. he carried out the light-hearted spirit of paganini perfectly!

  • God could NEVER save the King from this guy! He'd just punch God in the face with his triple-whammy double staccato harmonic trill judo chop.

  • Que le vamos hacer ... paganini es simplemente

imposible.

    paolo

  • i just came in my pants

  • Left hand pizz really adds something :)

  • mein gott ist das beeindruckend O_O......

  • hes a complete orchestra in 1 man...

No me cabe duda.

  • ahaha

  • That was awesome, as awesome as Beethoven's Seven Variations on 'God Save the King' for piano.

  • this video is cool, the violinplayer is so talented

  • GOD SHAVE THE QUEEN!!! He is a great violinist! Thanks for sharing

  • @sirdagamba gilette will love your comment^^

  • Crazyest thing i've ever heard on violin. This guy must be the top virtuoso of the century or so.

  • @Repulver Your statement is incredibly ignorant, this guy is no where near the top virtuoso of the century; he isn't even near the top currently.

  • @rapter9800 Opinion....FAIL!!!

  • @rapter9800 he's up there surely...

  • @nzmft85 I'm not saying that he's a bad player, just that there's a huge difference between a virtuoso and his playing. For example: at :35, it seems that he had to hesitate a bit to reach far enough to hit the notes. Much of the beginning seems hesitant, 1:26 seems a bit sluggish to me, the left-hand pizzicato at 2:28 were messy and hard to hear, the high note around 2:40 was out of tune, 3:58 his bow was kind of skipping off the string, so the open string didn't seem too even

  • @rapter9800 i find this 'analysis' of whether he is a virtuoso or not pretty humorous. why even bother talking about it? are you about to list ten soloists right now that are sounding better and more consistent than Frank Peter Zimmermann? not to say he is the best there ever was but i have heard a fair amount of his recordings and seen him live and it sure seems to me that he is one of the most skilled, sensitive, musical and original players around today.

  • @nzmft85 Now, saying all that, he is most definitely a rather talented violinist, certainly much better than I am. But calling him a virtuoso is just a huge overstatement of his playing. If you haven't already, I'd suggest that you listen to Ruggiero Ricci playing this song; that is a virtuoso at work.

  • @rapter9800 you are right, i am actually ignorant about this Instrument. My comment was never ment to be a statement but merely as an expression of how impressed i am about he's playing. The phrase "must_be virtuoso or_so" should've pointed that out..

  • =O, this guy did not played the violin, he gave life to it and taught it how to sing

  • As Salieri sad: "Grazie Senore!" It's not only practice that makes him play it so cool like that! I mean...fucking now!!

  • Wow! Bizarrely brutal, yet mellifluous! Never seen or heard any stringed instrument pocketed like this before!!

  • He is not playing the violin.. he is OWNING the violin....

  • I love the plucking at the beggining! I could never do that while bowing!

  • in my opinion this is the best version of this piece...

  • This is a thing called "Technique".

  • wou u . u

    excelente . : D

  • ...
