Fur is allergenic to some people, cruel to the animals, too expensive, needs constant special and expensive cleaning. It's also ugly on humans.

Synthetic furs, are warmer, affordable, easy to clean, cheap to maintain. Synthetic furs don't hurt animals much and a perfect choice for people with allergies.

It is an easy choice. Give up fur if you have a little conscience and ethics.

Are you against the use of fur or the living conditions of these animals? Because if it is the former, are you aware that humans have used fur for thousands of years to protect themselves against the cold and skin as material for clothing and tools?

I've worked at a fur factory as a security guard (they didn't really ask me if I wanna go or not). Walking between the lines of hunderds of thousands (at least!!!) furs at night while seeing their dry little noses and hollow eye orbits really made me think. Why? Hunderds of thousands of animals? The furs are beautiful, but they only made me think "Why would anyone kill an animal with such beautiful fur?" Especially when the clothes are DARN UGLY. People wearing fur have no sense of style.

@Sithis69 The clothes made aren't in any way beautiful. But the furs are - on a living, healthy animal individual. Besides, killing these things - it's horrible. I can't imagine the pure horror of an electrically conducting bar being stuffed into my mouth and my ass at the same time, and then dying of a huge electro shock. If that's a humane way to die, then let's see how the farmers like it.

These are the same people who claim that China needs to 'immediately adopt Western cruelty-free practices', as if they are any better. I doubt anyone looking at this could tell the difference.

I bring this point up as many seem to think that buying fur produced in Europe or North America is humane. It really does not matter if such societies care more if all they do it hide it away in the corner and never talk about it.

And instead of crying, maybe try doing something about it. Look locally.
