From whatever little I have read about the great man and after seeing the movie and visiting Waterloo I have composed a poem on Napoleon and Waterloo . Can I send/upload it because it may exceed the limit 0f 500 words?
I had visited Waterloo in June 2011 and wrote a poem titled Napoleon and Waterloo in English. I have very high regard for Napoleon. My poem is availablable on my blog under site Global Marathi.com. Those interested may please see it and give remarks.
my great great great grandfather was one of napoleons finest and most loyal generals. i know he went with napoleon to exile and escorted his remains through paris is general bertrand in this video
Napoleon perfected the systems of dividing. He was the first to used massed artillery and the first one to create the most devastating fighting force, a massed army known as the grand army. His military drills are used today!
So has it been confirmed if he was poisoned with arsenic over time by his maid whilst exiled at st Helena, or was it just myth, like his short stature?
@ViccardXViccc Common with that cancer thing, he didnt had cancer no tumors were ever found the cancer scenario is completely outruled, he indeed of Arsenic poisoning
@batalion666, despite the huge loss of French lives, Napoleon always managed to rally the people. He brought glory to France while he was in reign. I am pretty sure that many people in France today have no regret about the Napoleonic Wars. It was the most glorious moment in they ever experienced.
@batalion666 what! First Napoleon ended the revolutionary war. Second Napoleon give France hope.however he mess it up when he invade russia but when he return he didnt want more territory so england attack him adn he was forced to defend himself. and third Napoleon inspire the people and he didnt force it AT ALL.
@batalion666 You know nothing! What? Napoleon killed more frenchmen than who? His idea was rule the word and destroy all nation in europe, he ate people!...He was man and he only fight because he want...:)) Its silly! SO SILLY! War in 1805-began England, Austria and Russia. 1806-War began Prussians! 1807-Russian who refuse the sign peace. 1809-Austria without a declaration of war marched into Bavaria-napoleons ally. What next? 1813-1814-1815 hm? No one did so much for france like Empereur!THINK!
@batalion666 The French soldiers fought for their own free will and his generals. and I as a Bonapartist sympathizer as well as many countries and people I would give my life willingly for the actions of Napoleon ... And the people loved him. So much that he was elected emperor and welcomed with open arms by the people at the return of Elba. There is no shame in dying and fighting for their country and their ideas! And btw, if he had not invaded Portugal, my country Brazil, would not be free
@Napoleontas Indeed you are correct, Napoleon came to power by military coup 18 Brumaire. BUT! however. After coming to power, when the suggestion for him to become Emperor Napoleon came he said: "There will never be a king to France again!" then they suggested he to be elected like in ancient rome. they conducted a plebiscite in 1804, it was approved the Napoleonic era with almost 60% of the vote, and the Senate accepted his coronation in may from 1804. the people voted for him became Emperor.
@oOAndrewsOo That means nothing, really almost every regime seeked a vote , the Fuhrer also was overwhelmigly voted by the people of Germany.
But even if he was not voted Napoleon would have still held power, he loved power as a musician loved his music. And it is obvious that he didnt care about the opinion of the masses, there were also under Napoleon a number of forced conscriptions .
@Napoleontas How can you say he did not care about the people (masses)? After all the legislative, social, intellectual and infrastructural reforms that he did? After all the legal, social, intellectual and infrastructural reforms that he did? Just as the civil code is a living material evidence of the importance he gave to the people. you know very well what he did! creating the Bank of France, strengthen the industry, tax reform, civil code, penal, Jewish emancipation and so many others things
@oOAndrewsOo The reforms he did were inside the context of his regime, i will repeat again and again the same things, he was an Emperor ,not a prime minister of some stupid parliametarian regime, he set up his own monarchies all over Europe, he reformed the state according to the needs of his empire and his move to emancipate one Jewish ghetto was a move directed against the pope and not from his love of the Jews, who were his main competitors as the funders of the anti Napoleon coalitions
@Napoleontas well i didn't say that he did good things because he was a good man.as Napoleon himself said . "There are two forces that unite men, fear and interest."Of course as emperor he would act like a dictator and an emperor, I'm not denying that, but the fact is that he was much closer to the needs of its people than the kings before him and the European monarchies. but you are right. everything is about interests.anyways i think if the people loved him was because he did good things.
@oOAndrewsOo I agree on that, but my basic point really isnt cynicism.
Iam trying to separate Napoleon by the "will" of the masses , as something fundamentally superior, iam trying to elevate him in a very aristocratic (in the ancient Greek meaning of the word) way, and not bash him or criticize him, quite the opposite, he was to special to be indentified with anything that concerns the mass, modern westerners tend to think positively about the "people" and negatively about dictators -leaders
@oOAndrewsOo I tend to think negatevely about the masses though and i found numerous times that Napoleon agreed upon my thoughts about the masses-people. Iam not saying that he didnt cared, adoration and care is very different things though. Democrats who like him would try to portray Napoleon as the "will" of some people, those who dont like him will try to call him a totalitarian dictator. Iam trying neither of them, i try to portray the real Napoleon, a man who moved the wheels of history
@oOAndrewsOo Napoleon was a dictator ,he was a totalitarian, but he was also a man who elevated a destroyed country to the picks of glory , and he was a man who forced the masses to grab their fates with their own hands, he led a nation into an empire, he used the people as he saw fit for the elevation of his country, and he gave them from the one hand war and from the other, prosperity and glory beyond imagination by making them realize that only sacrifices grand you any right to anything
@Napoleontas You said everything much more my friend.. there is no need for more words after what you said ... I share this thought with you ... bravo! Bonapartists forever around the world ... greetings from Brazil ... The old Empire of Brazil (1822 to 1889) Vive l'Empereur, Vive l'empire français! un toast à leur! ^_^
@Napoleontas Greece! a country with a great history! My emperor D.Pedro I was invited to be king of greece once... but he didnt want to... i dont know why... it is great history that you have there!! Vive L'empereur!
@oOAndrewsOo His opinions about the masses are very well known, he believed that few persons are born to rule, he believed that the others are ment to serve those who are blessed by superior intellect and personalities. And you forget the cues against him by anti bonapartist factions, the people certainly loved him but only when the situation was good for his empire. The after Waterloo reaction of the people basicly forced him to resign.Anyway ,he was a reformer but not a man of the people
when I see what the world has become in 50 years.......we had 2000 years of greatness then the jews WON and created that porn judeo-capitalist culture...where God and people are nothing but words.....50 years of third world immigration that has bring islam, crime , rapes of our women etc... thank you the EUSSR ! a big jewish mafia
A very detailed bronze death mask of Napoleons true features at his death is held in The Lady Lever Art Gallery on The Wirral, England, only a couple of miles from where I live.
Such a very small face. The rounded features had become very wasted through loss of weight. It is a strange experience to view the actual features of this great man....... also very sad !
This is one of the best scenes ever filmed. Napoleon is Emperor of the people of the World and has life everlasting. He hath drunk from the chalice of the people and will never be forgotten.
You had to be at least 1,80 meters high and u were initially selected among the best soldiers of the French army. There was an old guard (the veterans) and at the same time a young guard. And all the bodies (cavalry, artillery, infantry....) were represented in the Guard. They were just the best soldiers of the time, used in critical situations and they never surrendered, even in Waterloo, where the English fired the squares with artillery rather than face them on the battlefield.

"Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. " -Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon was one of the great leaders of our history. As was Hitler. Both their interests where in their people and in Europe, and not this globalising bollocks that now is spread by the sionist government of USA.
Hitler won the most battles that he fought ,he lost the war cause of LACK of materials the same as Napoleon, Hitler invaded Spain, Hitler was an ally with spain, Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time either political or army leaders, Napoleon too, Napoleon recreated poland to put humiliate the Germans, Hitler reconquered ancient german territories, Napoleon was a RACIALIST the same with Hitler, Napoleon was A SHREWED emperor believing in quality and order Hitler was the FUHRER
And trying to prevent your Nations race from bastardizing is A QUALITY not a drawback, trying to pollute your race with foreign races is a crime not an act of "humanism"
The only difference between Napoleon and Hitler is that one of this despots was burned meanwhile the other is still bedded in velvet at Saint-Louis-des-Invalides.
Un Empereur qui reste dans la légende de Jules César et d'Alexandre le Grand et une armée de braves qui libéra l'Europe de la tyrannie et propagea les idéaux de la Révolution. Vive l'Empereur ! Vive La France !
Napoleon was a great ruler and solder and i greatly respect him even tho i had 2 family members die fighting him and 3 other family members who were officers at Waterloo on the English side.
Interesting side notes, the men at the start, were soldiers who fought for napoleon in the wars, and the horse under the purple silk, was Napoleons actual horse from the wars.
This film , 'had' the potential to be so great. But i must say Philippe Torreton , a classic example of mis-casting. Prob the worst Napoleon to date caught on film, in terms of apperance. But appart from that, im still glad the film was made. Its a step in the right direction.
actually he did, since France was still a republic from 1796-1803 (the Directory and Consulate), during which time Napoleon fought as general and first consul in Italy and Egypt. the Empire didn't start till 1804.
I just love this video. I see this video every day, is my freakin' life!! I wish i could meet Napoleon and touch his fabulous hat.
Pleas thumps up this comment.

In the crowd, you can see Betsy Balcombe. Napoleon knew here in Saint-helène while exiled. She probably fell in love

Hats of to both of them!

Napoleon as Hitler lost IN RUSSIA
Napoleontas 2 years ago
Hitler won the most battles that he fought ,he lost the war cause of LACK of materials the same as Napoleon, Hitler invaded Spain, Hitler was an ally with spain, Hitler was one of the greatest leaders of all time either political or army leaders, Napoleon too, Napoleon recreated poland to put humiliate the Germans, Hitler reconquered ancient german territories, Napoleon was a RACIALIST the same with Hitler, Napoleon was A SHREWED emperor believing in quality and order Hitler was the FUHRER

believing in the same things

And trying to prevent your Nations race from bastardizing is A QUALITY not a drawback, trying to pollute your race with foreign races is a crime not an act of "humanism"

The only difference between Napoleon and Hitler is that one of this despots was burned meanwhile the other is still bedded in velvet at Saint-Louis-des-Invalides.

Its a step in the right direction.

well napoleon didnt faught for republic
Napoleontas 3 years ago
actually he did, since France was still a republic from 1796-1803 (the Directory and Consulate), during which time Napoleon fought as general and first consul in Italy and Egypt. the Empire didn't start till 1804.
