I replaced chocolates and sweets with a cup full of Raisins, Sultanas, or pineapple chunks in pineapple juice. Worked for me Saved Money and Lost Weight
My new Years resolution was to stop eating chocolate and i did stop for 3 1/2 years. My 2010 new years resolution was to stop eating salt and i havn't broken it yet.
I do find it a problem for some people. As for me...well I do not gain wight though I have eten at least one chocolate bar a day, becouse I know that this energy goes somewhere...but the problem is that I can't possobly bare the idea that I have a taboo on it.
@harry193276329 - Someone eating so much chocolate it puts their health at risk. Addiction to chocolate may seem amusing to the majority of us but it isnt funny for someone suffering from obesity or someone at risk of diabetes.
@harry193276329 I would. It's horrible, when I'm hungry, I don't think about food but about chocolate! I don't often eat chocolate but when I do I can't stop and my stomach hurts like hell. Plus, I don't wanna get fat it's my biggest fear. :( I wish I hated chocolate!
@JustBeWell - I am one who is a perfect example. Growing up I used to eat as much chocolate as I wanted & had no issue. Later in life Doc told me I'm allergic to caffeine and it actually constricts my blood vessels. From being addicted I was younger, and still am, I need to overcome my addiction in order to save my life. I've smoked (menthol) for over 10 years and able to quit cold turkey, but chocolate I'm having a real issue with.
I empathize with you. I quit smoking methol cigarettes 3 years ago cold turkey and it was easier than trying to quit eating chocolate. I've eating too much chocolate since I can remember. It's a habit now, almost like a hobby I do on a daily basis. I am over weight and I hate it and I know my chocolate addiction is the problem. I know it's effecting my health in many ways. ie: my memory, feeling fatigued, depression etc. I wish I knew how to rewire my brain to hate the stuff.
@xXxIshSwaqqxXx Well this may be true but i balance out my diet and i also include a lot of exercise in my week so any risk of diabetes or other illnesses have very little chance of developing from my current life style ... oh and i am currently underweight and have been for a few years but only to a very sleight degree and even if you are addicted to chocolate it's your fault if you're not taking the right counter measures to make sure there is no chance of health issues :P :)
@harry193276329 You're being a dick... or ignorant. Regardless, you still come across like a dick: "I'm so much better than you because I don't have any problems. You must be a lazy bum." If you didn't mean it like that, then it's a miscommunication on your part.
I have been addicted to chocolate all my life, it seems. I know it, because I remember vividly my addiction to cigarrettes. During the day I have exactly the same kind of "craving" for chocolate, as I did for cigarrettes. I read it was related to a bacterial infection in the stomach lining? Help!!!
Every night I say I'm not going to eat chocolate the next day, yet the next day I eat around two bars which is making me really depressed. The only emotional reason I have to eat chocolate is because I'm overweight and get so unhappy and jealous when I see other guys strutting around with their fit bodies and there's me with my love handles and belly. I've already lost 4 stone over the last 2 years but something has been triggered over the last few months and I don't know how to overcome it.
This can be a serious situation for many people with all sorts of associated health problems in addition to longer term issues like obesity and diabetes. But like any addiction it can be treated so do seek some help local to you. As hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners ourselves we obviously favour these sorts of approaches but many different forms of therapy may help you. The important thing with any addiction, including the addiction to chocolate, is to realise it is a problem and seek help.
I eat more chocolate than food... I need real help... I don't get fat of some reason, but my veins are probably stuffed :S

I'm slim, toned and physically fit due to working out and staying active but I am so addicted to chocolate.
So you don't always have to be fat to enjoy this. Just stop being lazy is all.
