A really great book on learning to get things done on time and creating structure in your life is called the Now Habit. Read it if you can find it! It talks about procrastination mostly but also gives you a way to deal with the little things that go wrong everyday and shows you how to not let that get in your way.
Thanks Jofus! For other #UGuYs how do you find time with kids and work to juggle? I'm just so tired all the time....even though I know exercise would help, I don't get to it. And I even have an elliptical and yoga, pilates AND cardio DVD's! :-/
Love what you are saying.. saw this on another website and thought you might like it.:
Zengetsu, a Chinese master of the T'ang dynasty, wrote the following advice for his pupils: "Virtues are the fruit of self-discipline and do not drop from heaven of themselves as does rain or snow."
I was a ballet dancer for 15 years, had the best grades in school to maintain my scholarship, extremely disciplined, now that I don't dance any more and I'm graduated from Uni it's very hard to keep it up plus this has been the worst year I've ever had :( still recovering from it... your vids always cheer me up!
You are right Jofus, discipline is very important. I have a set time I workout everyday. I find if I don't do it, I feel sluggish and just not right the rest of the day. It becomes part of your everyday routine. You are doing great though, keep it up! :)
I agree structure is key but I also think that motivation is key too in order to stick to a diet/workout routine. I've been working out almost everyday now an hour on weekends & 30-45 min on weekdays. I find if I don't workout that I feel weird now, which is amazing feeling!
i agree structure helps to implement change in ones lifestyle, set a schedule for when you plan to go to the gym, so you will just follow that schedule every week. if there are classes offered at your gym, take advantage of that. i suggest yoga, it helps to keep my muscles from getting sore so that i can work out at all. having to make a class will also motivate you to get to the gym by a specific time.
Wow, thanks jofus! I hadn't thought about structure but you're right. It makes sense, because during the week I am extreeeemely busy all i have time for is work and sleep-not even eneough time to eat a decent meal and I'm not exagerating. But during the weekend I just fall apart and binge on food. :/ So like you said, I need structure, thanks jofus and man you go for it! Lose the weight! We are all supporting you!
@klinii lol i just had to respond to you.. i have indeed myself gone to a video and found myself in this moment.. should i.. could i.. will i.. wont i... :):)

Dude there is lots you can do training wise from home so start with body weight movements and work up from there. Does not take more than 15-30mins

I hear ya! I work from home and it can be so hard to keep my days structured. Getting up at a decent hour is my "step one."
