I thought mouth to mouth wouldn't do anything, because you breath in oxygen so your just blowing carbon dioxide into their lungs which isn't oxygen so it wouldn't work
@mrsnowman102 not exactly, it is true that we exhale carbon dioxide after a breath but the oxygen in the air is comprised of about 21 percent. we do not use all 21 percent, we auctucally only use about 7-10 percent, enought to put O2 into a patient for survival... it is better to give breaths to a non-breathing patient rather than no breaths at all...
In my opinion. All people in the 911 center and people who serve for 911 are important heros. I can't wait 'till 5 years later until I work for the FD
Amanda is all grown and in collage now. She only had one seizure and suffered no I'll effects. The two families still keep in close contact. Jay retired from the city of Xenia after 30 years of service. He now resides in northern Florida and has continued working in public safety with the Gulf county Sheriff department as there Crime scene investigator. In reference to the thread Jay mentioned the medics as Firefighters. This is because in the City of Xenia firefighters are cross trained as me
hi beatlemoe have you read articles about the next segment titled "Anthony falzo train", i wonder if there's an article that talks about this segment?
obvious mistake: Jay smith refers to the medics as firefighters, but the 9-1-1- system wasn't till march 1989 of this year, how is that?, maybe it was stress from that call and he couldn't think right?
1;29 this is a reenactment for sure, but I wonder how they got the baby to shake maybe a toy baby that looks real or something soft under a baby to make it look like a seizure?
Someone please upload the next segment previewed where a mother and her two boys returned from the grocery store and the boys went to the train tracks to play. The conductor saved the boys from being hit by the train. The mother was still putting groceries away but the thought got in her mind that her boys were in trouble so she went to the tracks.Upload that episode.I want to see it again.
'allgood2000' has that episode already uploaded. Just go to his homepage, and scroll through his videos. The segment is titled " Rescue 911 - Episode 102 - "Conrail Train" ".

@zmommaL56 a febrile seizure is a seizure caused by a high fever, it happens to some babies/infants.
gregorkrause 1 year ago
@gregorkrause Oh dear. That must be terrible. That goodness I didn't have that. I'm sure Amanda is doing fine today.
ZMommaL56 1 year ago
@ZMommaL56 it says so on the internet that babies like amanda outgrow these seizures.
gregorkrause 1 year ago
@gregorkrause I know. I wonder what she's up to today. Someone searches their names on my space and facebook.
ZMommaL56 1 year ago
damn that is so scary
loveybumblebee554 1 year ago
Today Amanda would be 23 years old. I wonder if she still has what she had in this episode.
ZMommaL56 1 year ago
no, kids like amanda outgrow febrile seizures.

I see. What's a febrile seizure?

"if someone you love is caught in an emergency would you know enough to be able to help?", is shatner referring to jean's sister or the dispatcher?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
this story should've been in the "Rescue 9-1-1- first-aid book" under the section fevers/febrile convulsions imho what would you think?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
3:00 that shot of the ambulance is deleted from the (syndicated version).
gregorkrause 2 years ago
DHC=0, CBS=100 percent dramatic.
gregorkrause 2 years ago 4
1557 roxberry, that scene is memorable because of the close-up of the seizure.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
when jean calls the dr's office amanda goes into a convulsion is what she says but we dont see the convulsion till 1:29 how is that?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
it seems here a number of scenes are deleted that are seen here like the medics going into the ambulance etc? what other scenes were deleted?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
I doubt jean collins was involved in the 1974 tornado, because she was scared like heck as amanda could die from the fever, don't you think she was?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
I bet they did have a 9-1-1- system in 1973-74 but imho was wiped out by the tornado, or they didn't have one at all, just a speculation.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
I rated this 5 stars because this is a cbs original version and awesome because of scenes not in the syndicated version of this segment.

1:39-1:40 the medic on the right looks like emperor nero lol.

the paramedic without the glasses in the closeup looks like Emperor nero lol.

gregorkrause 2 years ago
1:29 was that amanda seizing or jean almost tripping while calling while holding amanda with one arm?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
1:30-1:31 why would she, the caller drop the phone as she was calling 911 was she holding amanda someway?
gregorkrause 2 years ago
hi beatlemoe do you have the original CBS version of "Flooded cave,Miami plainclothes cops docu" #107-#108.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
1:29-1:30 must be the original cbs version.

hi i noticed scenes not used in the syndicated version like her dropping the phone and the saying of the address.
gregorkrause 2 years ago
I don't think it's the dhc version so it's the cbs version.
