@arpeggio1358 yes, this segment came just as the "in memoriam" segment was finishing, and Jerry Orbach's was the final photograph. Jerry had died only several months earlier, in 12/2004.

Just read somewhere that as they were finishing the memorial portion of the 2005 Tony the last picture to be shown was Jerry Orbach at the same time the music for Razzle Dazzle started up. That had to be amazing to see, still makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

I agree with N734NJ. Jesse L. Martin would have made a great Billy Flynn in the movie version. Millions times better than the one--non-signing, non-dancing, and almost non-acting Richard Gere who was in the movie.
