the real solution to health care is to drop the sanctions on natural and alternative medicine and let doctors decide how to treat people, either with drugs, or medicinals, nutricudicals, lifestyle changes, etc. 90% of peoples health problems dont even need a doctor to help, they need a lifestyle coach....seriously. But of course someone not holding a masters in medicine or whatever tries to tell you to diet and exercise and woah! swat team the place.

Just because it isn't called a "tax" it doesn't mean we haven't been paying for the uninsured, in the form of premiums. What? We didn't take a urine sample?" So you get charged another $3000 until the urine results come back. Happened to me and my father in law, several years apart, different hospitals.

@41Marauders EMTALA exists, so we have to deal with it (being against it does nothing). The point is that we can treat patients in a far more efficient/cost-effective way. Every major country in Western Europe spends a fraction of what we do & far outscores us on quality statistics (check the WHO). We're becoming a late stage capitalist country... there are examples to learn from out there. Some of the best systems are hybrids (private/public). Don't let politics cloud fact-based judgement.
