People are asking why it is bad, I see. I'll explain. There's nothing funny about it and the animation is really poor. Granted, some cartoons can get by with poor animation, but they are usually hilarious.

Alright. I know, this does not fits the original movie at all, but THIS cartoon is not supposed to be like copy of movie. They already made some episodes from movie. The idea of this cartoon makes a parody or every shits that's happend on TV, like the original movie parodies Star Wars and Startreck. Anyway, the cartoon itself is not that bad as most of the news total bullshit cartoons that happend on TV nowdays, I would even say it's pretty Awesome! Now please everyone, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

@MaxRideWizardLord - No... it is actually pretty damn bad. Not sure how much of a hand Mel had in the writing, but it's totally bland. The reason it bothers people is because Brooks and his films are so hilarious and legendary, and this series which should have had a lot of potential, is instead just a mediocre way to waste 22 minutes. There is funnier and more creative stuff on reddit, for chrissakes. Mel Brooks = fail? Never thought I would see the day. At least we have the films.

I really don't get how crap like this ever ends up being produced... they take a cult classic film from 1987, and 21 years later in 2008 and turn it into an animated show? Spaceballs is like the ultimate one-and-done movie.... the original concept was decent, but making a second movie, let alone a fricken awful attempt of an animated series, was one of the stupidest things they could have done with it. Is Mel Brooks hurting for money, or what?

What boggles my mind is how funny this COULD be if it took a different route. After all, Futurama is funny. This, to quote TV tropes, "Mentioning something and parodying it are too separate things." Parodies require, you know, actual jokes. What the fuck is the gag with "immunity to melted butter?" You can bet Matt Groening and David X would've found a response to Vespa that was much funnier, but comparing this to Futurama isn't clouding my judgement; it also sucks compared to the movie.
