1. those "hmmm"'s Freud makes, aren't allowed in psychoanalysis. He needs to take on a neutral predisposition towards a patient.

2. The analysis aren't talked about later on, but during the session.

Well, psychoanalysis is the beginning of psychotherapie. Psychoanalysis is a science, but it is of course no hard science (psychology itself is also no hard science), its soft science.

try a test. send out 10 case studies to 10 different "Drs" of psychology all diagnosies must come back the same to prove it is a science. what is truly sad is that there "observations" are used in court to prove or disprove guilt. But no one is allowed to cross examine them. or allowed to simply ask him or her to prove it. that would be a court case on its own.

and if u are refering to his drug addiction. you must be able to find his reference to it when he was extolling its virtues. ie "It broadens the mind and sharpens the senses". He also had a prosthetic upper pallette as the roof of his mouth was eaten away by cocains corrosive effect on body tissue. claiming that it was due to the effects of his cancer treatment is erroneus as it would have eaten away his much softer tongue.
