  • Hey for all the negative comments on here....all I was trying to do was help....

  • Im athiest, but good playing dude!

  • No I don't have one but my brother does and he is not making any use of it. Soooo I will be getting from him..lol. I played sax for 3yrs so me picking up on notes isn't hard, although I know those are two different instruments, one thing I do know is that I have an ear for music. Pray for me as I attempt to learn this thing..lol

  • @Chaunee2005

Yes i will keep you in prayer....if you need any help.......please let me know...i would be more than happy to help....God Bless!

  • Is it hard to learn how to play bass? I want to learn.

  • @Chaunee2005

No its not....just a lil practice and a whole lot of determination...and its easy....LOL..but seriously....its a easy thing to learn...do you have a bass already?

  • @Chaunee2005 Its easier than guitar to pick up, but harder to master.

  • @primusfeces Yea I know, I really want to learn though...wish I had someone to teach me, I'm going to pray about that thing..lol

  • Ok i got it...thanks for the enlightment! I'll make a correction vid....

    God Bless

  • broklahoma is right. i.e. they're enharmonic (sound the same) but they are different notes. If you go from any type of a C to any type of an A it's a 6th, could be major, minor, augmented or diminished. C# to Ab would be a diminished 6th. It sounds exactly like a perfect 5th, it's just not proper to call it a 5th. To be a 5th it would have to be a G.

I agree its nitpicking but is the proper way in music theory.

  • g# is a flat. are you even a musician

  • The 5th of C# is G#, not Ab.

  • @broklahoma

well it looks like you dont know your scales.....G# is Ab...there the same....ask...or look it up and let me know what you think..

  • they're enharmonic, but they aren't the same.

  • G# and Ab are the same bro, whether u want to sharp it or flat it, as a musician u'll know what he's talking about. If someone says play in the key of Ab ur playing in G#. If ur going up a half note from G , then u can call it a sharp, if ur going down a half from "A" u can call it a flat....your choice bro;-) I'm a bassman too...playing for 15yrs now

  • I'm glad you've been playing for fifteen years, but that has no bearing on the fact that A is never going to be the 5th of C, no matter the degree. Abb isn't the 5th of C, and Ab isn't the 5th of Cb, even if they're in the same positions on your fretboard. Are you going to try to tell me next that Gb isn't a 5th of C because it isn't up a string and over two frets?

  • how about you do a video...and show us the difference....until then...please stop arguing on my page...God Bless

  • No offense but all who are reading dont alter ur bass tuning learn to play in standard then experiment wit other tunings. It'll help u in the long run.

  • @mattxx16

No offense taken....but if you watch the vid...its not about playing in different tunings.....I put up vids to help people....you can make all the necessary adjustments as you learn!

  • all you gospel players are amazing bassists thanks for posting!!!

  • @bannanapancake

    thanks for the love!

  • Nice info but maybe play the tune a bit more so we can see the technique in action for a few bars.

  • @gblan

  • Ahh, that's what I meant, thanks!

  • @Bass5or6 im just starting out what bass do you think I shud start with..

  • @StefonJamalHickson

I think you should learn your basic scale and arpeggios...major and minor...thats the basic knowledge of the bass...then go far there!!

  • what bass do u think wud be a good buy

  • @StefonJamalHickson

now that depends on you....what kinda sound...what kinda feel do you want?

  • that gospel sound man like that bottom

  • @drummer4jesus777

  • This was excellent because you took your time to explain exactly what you were doing. I think you have a natural ability to teach. I liked that you used references of your own experiences which really helps the process. Keep posting
