I am Silver, and i am not sure why this is Platnium. I going in with the zerglings and Overlords too. I just choose a other techway, not at infestors just roach or roach hydra. my macro normally is as good as well but my enemies dont let me macroed. Pushed early like 4gate or going on air or somethings else.

platinum worth more than silver but a little less than gold to my understanding. if u look at periodic table ag (silver) is definitely a lvl lower while ag (gold) has more mass than platinum. but i was thinking more of jewelry when they say silver, gold, diamond. maybe they should have jade, ruby, sapphire and stuff?

I think the early pool is to scare away FFE builds, as protoss will be more reluctant. Psy starcraft was the first person I saw it from, and I've had decent success with it.

If he still manages to get up his cannons/expo, you'll have earlier queens and map control, so it never hurts... also you wont get cannoned at your natural.

@246trinitrotoluene It's an old build, it's an 11 overpool into 18/19 hatch. It could be to scare off an FFE, but it's also a good way to expand without getting blocked by pylons or anything.

When speaking purely about the precious metals the tiers in StarCraft do follow their values in the world. Silver is least valuable followed by Gold then Platinum. Platinum is more rare than Gold and when comparing the metals next to each other you can tell which is which. Silver looks grey next to White Gold and White Gold will look grey next to Platinum. Obviously there will be a huge difference when comparing Silver to Platinum.

As a fellow Platinum player, this zerg player made me sad. He didn't hotkey his army which is essential when using Infestors. He didn't keep up his scouting, he overproduced lings in the beginning and had the most awkward timings when he got around 18 food. Whatever though; everyone has bad games from time to time

Trebis, if you ever have an issue similar to this in the future, a free piece of software called Audacity might help you in reducing audio gain (the crunchiness in the sound here). That way you won't have to re-do the whole cast.

I love your replays and stuff but I was a bit disappointed at this one.

1. 11 pool 18 hatch is a pretty standard build. Just look at vilepsy. Even some of the GM players do this sometimes.

2. 14 lings at 6.18 gaming time were to much. At least 4-6 of them could be drones. The only excuse for making so much lings were a denial of the expo, which Sirius didnt do.

3. 11 drones at 10.52 gaming time were THE biggest mistake of the game! These were too much at that time.

You have to learn the timings, when dts/voids/4-gate/6-gate etc. push arrives. This was even more important than ur attacking of the statue! ;)

In order of expense it goes: Platinum, gold, (diamond), silver, bronze. Diamond is subject to change depending on its size and how it is cut but is generally regarded as more expensive than gold. Another interesting fact is that diamonds are actually pretty common it is just that there is an almost monopoly on them that causes their prices to rise so high. Platinum is by far the rarest substance of all of these, however, it is not the most expensive substance on earth.
