Cut the scraggly ends down to where the thick hair begins. I have similar texture but mine is a bit thicker. Use Aphogee 2 step protein trmnt, then alternate using the 2 min protein and deep cond weekly. That should help.
I had to cut my hair because of a relaxer. I got sores and dandruff. So I went short fro for two years because I thought fine hair was so difficult to handle. But since I've watched ladies like yourself I've been allowing it to grow and learning how to manage it.

hi im natural and have been for the past year and 4 mnths but although i use castor oil and protein shampoo with moisturizing conditioner my hair stil grows thin.. i think its genetics.. some things u cant change u just have to be greatful for what u have!
oh mu goodness finally HAIR TWIN!!! im in the transition process and my hair right no looks JUST like yours no joke (but mines a bit longer). it doesn't take relaxers well either and the relaxer ends are just snapping off, but its growing.
Hi thank you for sharing your process with us. My hair was just like yours and even worse about 1 1/2 years ago,I also had a perm, and it made all of my hair fall out!!! So I did the big chop and it was 3 inches long, and it was the best thing I ever done for my hair. I don't have to worry about my hair being dry and breaking off, I can use Eco styling gel and wear it natural...I have curls that I didn't know I had, and my hair grew out 9 to 10 inches. So do the big chop, you'll love it! :)
my hair looked like that when i was relaxed, and i still think it looks weird now that im natural. my hair wouldnt take to relaxers well after a while, and looked thin and stringy esp. after it was washed, i never understood why but i guess its because i have fine hair also....what relaxer where u using?
@NitaB973 hey NitaB793, the relaxer that the beautician put on my hair was mizani butter blends. The beautician decided to put the perm on twice since my hair didnt take. I just think that my hair only responds well to lye relaxers or no relaxers.
Aphogee can actually be quite severe for some ppl's hair. There have been reports of hardening n susequent breakage in some cases, possibly due to frequent use, i'm not sure, but there r also ppl who get on with it, but just b careful using it. But maybe u could try a more natural protein treatment that may be gentler if you haven't already, such as mayonaise & egg mixed with an oil of ur choice like coconut oil, olive oil, carrot oil etc. I don't get on with Coconut oil n use Olive oil insted.
I'm so glad to hear that, I've seen a lot of videos and was. Truly inspired, but have yet to see hair like mine, or someones true journey, thank you for the comment!!
i can't believe i've found your channel!! when i say my hair is the exact same way...i mean EXACT!!!!! i have no idea where i got it from but i am the only person in my family that has true baby fine afro textured hair.....i went natural about a year ago and i have to say it has been so good to me. i encourage you to try it. please continue to upload your hair journey, i feel like i've finally found someone who can relate to what i have to go through
my hair was just like yours from perm damage i have been off perms and heat for about 4 months i cut off my perm ends and now starting to grow out my hair with braids
thats whats up you are showing us the process!!!! bold and brave i love it! step out the box. i cant wait to watch u on your process oh by the way ur still a starr with out ur weaves!
right after i get ma remove cornrows my hair looks EXACTLY like your afro but afterthe hairdresser washed it (shampoo) it shribbled up an gets super curly again any tips on how to avoid this? or is natural for afro hair to get curly after washing it with shamppo or getting wet?. Next time should i avoid her using the shampoo? i need to know because i'm plannig on growing my hair back again
@hotmal after you wash your hair let it air dry, and then use a moisturizer and comb it out in sections, and braid in sections, then take the braids out 6 hours to a day later, this should stretch the hair out, and make it more managable. Its called a "braid out".
lol clean slate perhaps? idk your hair could be a lot different than you think! but telling from your replies to comments, you're going natural yayyyy :)
I think you need to start with a clean slate, and cut your hair into a short style. Leave the blow dryer alone for awhile, because blow dryers can dry out even thick hair. I can tell by your roots, your hair can be thicker, but your ends are damaged. Did you have chemicals in your hair before? I would say go natural for your hair type, and try infusium leave in conditioner.
I know I am really late on this video. I think braiding is good for the hair, but your hair have to be in a good state prior to braiding for it to benefit. Protein treatments are really good for strenghthening hair prior to braids so I it helps to do that. I used it when I was relaxed. Also, I believe your hair will thicken a lot, and become a lot stronger if you stretch your relaxers even longer, as well as you may want to entertain growing your relaxer off.
no..yue dnt need a perm. it looks as if you have fried it off. yue need a treatment thats not harsh on your hair, and go to a beautician if you cant do it yourself
You don't need a perm. I have a question..what have you been doing to your hair? Stop trying all those products and stop braiding it..leave it alone and don't wash it a lot...Please take my advice!
I think you should dread your hair

You need protein to thicken it but you also need moisture to coincide with the protein
