3:58 is my favourite piece of music. Known as 'Sad, sad, sad' First used in 101 Dalmatians, it was reused here, The Sword in the stone, and I think Robin Hood had it too at one point.
When I was younger i used to not like Bagheera, but then when i rewatched the movie and saw the scene where Baloo almost let a rock hit and crush Mowgli's head... well, it comforted me to know Bagheera is Baloo's complete opposite.
You know when you think about if mowgli were to go to the village he would become and hunter and shere kahn would hate him either way, he probably be in more danger because the people of the village would make mowgli hunt, if you ask me ballo, bagheera, and mowgli's wolf parents and pack and the vultures should just all team up and take shere kahn out
@lifeeconomics812 You obviously don't understand Bagheera at all. Bagheera was a father figure to Mowgli and he knew it was dangerous for him to stay with Shere Khan lurking in the jungle. And if you read the actual book, you'd know that he was in fact a male panther. He is only trying to keep Mowgli from Baloo because Baloo still has growing up to do himself. I guess the same can be said about you if you fail to understand Bagheera's role
@lifeeconomics812 Sorry....I am SO used to the Disney version, where Bagheera was a male....(in my mind, anyhow, because I really really like him very much).......and no, I haven't any more argues........sorry, if I said too much.
@lifeeconomics812 I don't mind.....maybe that man-village symbolizes the real world for Mowgli, and Bagheera is challenging him to learn from it. Though, unfortunately, I'd never seen the second Jungle Book.
@lifeeconomics812 Alas, I cannot respond very well to the actual physiology of panthers. Now as far as Bagheera's probable response to Mowgli goes, I think he'd go: "Now, look-a here, boy. You are going to the man village, where you can grow up, and if you don't like it, then, I'll sum it up in 4 basic words: Too bad, so sad."
@lifeeconomics812 Bagheera is a GREAT friend to Mowgli. He may have been totally austere towards Mowgli, but one thing is really clear....REALLY clear........Bagheera doesn't want him dead at the paws of the dang evil Shere Khan. Bagheera is NOT annoying, either; just acting as a real father figure to Mowgli. Now as far as he and Baloo are concerned, Bagheera believe that Baloo is too immature and flighty to care for Mowgli. That's all there is too it. P.S. All panthers are slender.
This was one of my favorite scenes from the movie. Quiet and dramatic. Not loud and frantic. More kids movies (esp Disney - ironically) nowadays need scenes like this.
Thanks but books arn't my thing. I did finish Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince and am currently reading the last one. Also finished Hulk Hogan Still Running Wild. Whats s**?
@EdTheBadass Disney's initial adaption of this movie was more accurate with the actual book. However, they found that the movie was too melancholic and violent, qualities that won't appeal to the target audience. So Disney had to change it a bit, make it more fun and happy and less people die LOL. I'm not toooo sure but I think they changed the story around a bit too...I remember in a video there was another human but was (I think) killed by Shere Khan I forget the story behind that though :/...

@lifeeconomics812 Bagheera isn't a female he's a male! He is voiced by a male! Males and female panthers are different!

Villains:
Kaa: (this snake obviously wanted to kill Mowgli)
Shere Khan: (he wanted to bump Mowgli off, too)
Neutrals:
Colonel Hathi: (he didn't hate Mowgli, but he didn't care ABOUT him, either)
King Louie: (he fancies himself a buddy of Mowgli's, but all the while,he merely wanted to show him how to make fire)
RainbowElf86 7 months ago
@lifeeconomics812 Consider your thoughts of heroes/villains well-respected. But here's what I think of the heroes and villains:
Heroes:
Mowgli: (of course, Mowgli, he's the star)
Bagheera: (strictness and all, he loved Mowgli)
Baloo: (this air-head, too, loved Mowgli)
Shanti: (she really likes Mowgli, even though she can be plucky)

@lifeeconomics812 Nope, I just thought Bagheera was a girl according to the live-action 80's version....if that even makes sense.

@lifeeconomics812 the hell are you talking about? You're just making stuff up randomly? don't talk shit about Bagheera.
1) a transvestite is defined as someone, typically a man, that dresses as the opposite sex - This character is in fact a panther with no clothes
2) let's not point fingers
3) A bad friend of Mowgli.. in the way that he saves Mowgli's life - fuck I hate when my friends pull that! Bastards
4) This isn't a bad trait.
5) it's a PANTHER - and is originally a male even in the book
