Unions have outlives their usefulness. Now, these unions are like the Mafia. Led by people with their own agendas, no longer defending the workers rights, involved in politics and out of touch with the reality. Why on earth, they believe they are entitled to benefits that are not available to other working people, benefits paid with our tax money?

So to sum up,WHEN unions champion great things like you mentioned AWESOME...THANKSWHEN unions get greedy, short sighted, and silly and ask for things that CANNOT BE SUSTAINED in the business they work for...WELL...they lose influence, undue a lot of hard work and gains previously won, and in the end....hurt themselves.
Sorry, but it is just not possible for a state to pay 100% of health benefits for any state employees. Its also not possible to give pay increases in a fiscally unsound environment. You would not run your own business this way.
Well...that is all fine and dandy...and if THAT KIND OF THING was what the teacher union was doing then i would be on their side. BUT that isn't whats happening here. This is similar to the Autoworkers unions situation.
- they are at least in New Jersey functioning under an outdated, unsustainable model for their teachers.
unions are the reason you ignorant idiots have a 40 hour workweek, have health care, have holidays off sometimes paid, have safety organizations to monitor employers, and actually make a decent paycheck, enough to live a decent quality life. Without the original labor unions you would have none of these things, oh wait, almost forgot, unions are also the ones who started getting people retirement pensions, annuities, and 401k's. Without Unions you would be working in a sweatshop for 1 dollar/day
@Mikeandwendy74 Unions used to be a benefit, now they are a parasite on society. Why should teachers get free medical benefits when everyone else is paying? It's not about equity now, it's about greed and power.
And WITH these Unions, we are heading BACK to the sweatshops. They got toooo comfy and fat and now they seek only to benefit their membership at the expense of all other taxpayers. They have to be put back into check and not in a small way. Hey teachers, PAY FOR YOUR MEDICAL. MINE WAS CUT ALTOGETHER. AND YOU WANT MORE OF MY MONEY???? EFFFF YOU!
@jimdog365 remind me of the last president we had that was this obese, i know clinton struggled but he never got to this point, besides he looks like one of the sopranos....he looks like a bugle boy from ducktales......he looks like daredevils archenemy the kingpin...i could go on forever.
@MillaHead Little do they know, I'm fucking them... and you. I love how libbies like to blame everyone else for their problems. "Corporate Oligarchs"? I'm not sure where that came from. I guess since I realize what a sham and waste unions are I'm an oligarch. Say hello to your government babysitter when he/she tucks you in tonight, ummkay sweetie.
Christie is dead on about how raising taxes will not help. A good example of this is California. That state has raise so many taxes on businesses that people are moving out and going to places like Nevada,Arizona, and Texas.
