I won't respond to your stupid comments anymore...here is a sample of my playlist's you might learn something. I have friends on here all over the world who know what liberals can do to a nation and there sending out an sos and warning...go away you made NO POINTS AT ALL!
This video leaves out the reality of Liberal Democracy - which protects minority rights.
By leaving that out the entire theory is bunk as democracy is not accuracy defined.
"A liberal democracy is a form of representative democracy in which elected representatives who hold power are limited by a constitution that emphasizes protecting individual liberties, equality and the rights of minority groups."
@HopeForPeaceNow That is the best joke I have heard in my life! Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!
I won't respond to your stupid comments anymore...here is a sample of my playlist's you might learn something. I have friends on here all over the world who know what liberals can do to a nation and there sending out an sos and warning, you made no points!
@HopeForPeaceNow How I wish our founding fathers could come back just to be the spearhead in this battle for freedom against the evil liberal communist...you know sometimes you guys make me wonder why my Grandfather went to WWII inGermany, why my Dad was spying on the Russians from Pakistan during the Cold War and Nepher is back from Iraq..for what. What a waste to fight for a nation to become communist liberal and they just flush it down the sewer. No your want to make white a minority group!
@HopeForPeaceNow You tard I addressed all your stupid pionts...I know you liberals now have the working Americans woth no rights and for now minority have more rights...just go jump off a bridge or something and make America a better place. You guys will soon make al the good hard working Americans leave who built this great nation and who's family fought and died for this nation. When 75% of the people have their hand out and 25% of the people are working maybe you will be happy. Now go study.
@HopeForPeaceNow Study for what is coming and it does look like your going to be on the dark side and will reap what all liberals have sown. In the UK they people are already treated like dogs and extremist's givin everything free. Go look at my playlists! You don't have a clue what your talking about....minority rights!!!??? They can jump and almost kill a white girl and get off free because they say there not use to drinking as muslims. But if a white says anything against it there in jail!
Here are just a few of the ways CONS are, and have been for years, killing America for the sake of the rich;

Too bad you equate on the far right anarchy with a complete mess. It should be the ideal place, a location where people like a family or a group of friends - i.e. a place without (with zero) central control and no power finding a huge concentration in one person's hands. Would have recommended your video - but I disagree. Wished I had your skills to redo it. If I may, I would like to recommend some Stefan Molyneux material. If you find the time.
this is lame, they are making democracy the same as anarchism. As if there were no rule of law, we would all maraud around and ill each other. Ask yourself, are you going to go around killing people and marauding if you don't have a law telling you not to. Fact is, the crime would be about the same.
A nice simplistic and rather one sided view on political systems I feel. But what makes you think that the US and other western countries are not already oligarchies? What makes you think that the words law, republic and democratic are anything but farcical constructs that build an illusion of state and freedom? Are you really under the illusion that politicians or judges have any influence or power in the real world? Can you truly say you are free?
great video, really clear! personally though, i think there was a really limited definition of what anarchy really is. im really sick of anarchy and chaos being used synonymously.
This whole video is arguing semantics over archaic uses of some terms (like "democracy") and modern uses of others (like "republic"). Pure democracy is not a logistical option for any large nation today, so why spend so much time discussing it? Not all republics (ancient or modern) uphold the supremacy of law.
We have a democratic republic. There, semantic problem solved. That might also help to explain why our two main parties are named so generically.
That's bullshit. Lenin and Castro were NOT anarchists. Lenin was an outright Bolshevik which was a Communist/Socialist group of people who started a revolution to free themselves from the Czar. Castro also just wanted liberation for his people of Cuba. He was never an anarchist. He was also never an outspoken Communist, even though he was. He also made some mistakes when he came to power.
Hitler was just a dick. And he didn't start a revolution to come into power.
@Josexylo9: You miss the point. The communists, incl. Lenin & Castro, USE anarchy as a tool. Totalitarian revolutions always seek to 1st undermine govt control (i.e., invite anarchy) so as to weaken it to the point that they can then usurp authority. You also have your history wrong. Lenin did not free Russia from the Czars (Russia had already freed itself from the Czars with the "February Revolution" of 1917 & had established the Russian Republic w/ elected representatives)--he re-enslaved it.
@aliunde You make a valid point, but no. Lenin, Trotsky, and sadly douchebag Stalin let the February revolution with the bolsheviks. So technically yeah, he freed it from the Czars. He did not re-enslave Russia. He created the Soviet Union which worked fantastically great until he died. Then Stalin decided to be a douche, kicked Trotsky out, and THEN re-enslaved Russia. Lenin and Trotsy were not bad men.
And Communists do NOT use anarchy as a tool. Sorry man. Great points though!
@Josexylo9 - You are confusing the October Revolution (also called the Bolshevik Revolution) with the February Revolution of the same year which preceded it. It was the February Revolution that ended the reign of the Czars and set up the Russian Republic with elected representatives. The Bolshevik Revolution (led by Lenin, et al.) overthrew the elected provisional government and set up a dictatorship under Lenin, resulting in the formation of the USSR.
@aliunde You are correct ORDER OUT OF CHAOS is the Moto of the NWO they are using this today! they destabilise then bring in a solution but of course they created the anarchy in the first place.
@Josexylo9 Hitler was a revolutionary. He tried to violently overthrow the government once during the Beer Hall Putsch, then accomplished his revolution later by hijacking the democratic process. Read the Rise and Fall of the Third Riech and it will clear that up for you.
It was always my understanding that we are a Democratic Republic, sharing aspects of both systems. I don't believe we are a republic, but certainly we are more of a republic than a democracy.
@Bobobaju A republic is defined by the fact that representatives are elected by the people who, in turn, pass laws that the democratic majority may or may not support. The Founders universally referred to us as a republic & warned of the dangers of democracy. The Pledge of Allegiance is "to the republic, for which it [the flag] stands." Our republic is specifically anti-democratic in many respects (e.g., an unelected judiciary, a bill of rights protecting minorities against majorities, etc).
This vid naively glosses over the root cause of Rome's slip into an oligarchy & it's the same situation the US is in today. Rome fell because it was TOO free. We've all heard the mantra of a "free market economy," in other words, economic anarchy. It open's the door for huge economic disparities. As this reaches a critical mass people will demand from the government that which they can't get from their employers (swelling welfare state). If you want to limit government limit corporate freedom.
Additionally it doesn't discuss the mix of a republic and a pure democracy. Some countries and states have this. Since currently in our Republic turned oligarchy the few are oppressing the many, and in a pure democracy the many might oppress the few. Perhaps if we had a mix of both, it would be the right amount of checks and balances to minimize oppression.
Whether people know it or not , we don't have a Government of we the people . I will give you a perfect example . For instance no trespassing, property of the U.S. Government. What gives them that right to be a seperate entity if in fact your a U.S. citizen yourself . Does that not make you the Gov.we the people???
Democracy understood simply as majority rule voting is misleading. Democracy fully realized is a secular sentiment that seeks to maximize human agency with out bias.
If you come and try and knock it. First learn where the costitution came from. Seems some do not know. Iroquois Nation Indians, Is what the constitution was modled after. And in 1988 the congress thanked them H.CON.RES.331.
Thanks for the video. I guess it explains pretty decently and succinctly the options, although I find it utterly incomplete. Could someone explain to me why we elect "democratically" our representatives, president included? Shouldn't that be done in some "other way" to prevent the problems inherent to democracy? The election of representatives still carries the same problems if done using the "democratic" model, so without democratic election, how could a representative be elected in a Republic?
@freakqnc: I think you misunderstand the distinction between a republic and a democracy. In a republic, the people vote for representatives who then carry out the functions of government for them (such as passing laws, judging, etc.). In a democracy, the people vote directly on the laws. They are also "judge, jury, and executioner." In the U.S., we have a constitutional republic which limits government powers & also protects the rights of individuals regardless of the desires of the majority.
@aliunde The reason why some people define fascist as the far right is because of some property rights and racial supremacy(they point out that Communism advocates equality in wealth and people) but they don't realize that Nazi Germany and Italy imposed a nationalize companies and they tried to destroy jewish and Gypsy property
@n64wilbert The reason why some people define fascist as far right is because they are not Americans. Nazis and fascist did impose some nationalized companies. But surely they never wanted to nationalize everything like Communist/Socialists wanted. Quite the opposite. They promoted corporatism.
@n64wilbert Actuarial the reason why people define NAZIsm as far right wing is because they fit the definition of far right wing, ie very rigid class system.
@yellowkrux: "Right wing" has nothing to do with classes. It is defined by a commitment to liberty. Economic freedom is why the U.S. was one of the first classless societies that ever developed in the world. People move dynamically between income levels in the U.S., including from rags to riches and riches to rags. The Nazis were socialists & cooperated w/ communist socialists to overthrow the German republic. Only upon consolidating power did they turn against their communist competitors.
@aliunde You keep repeating shit from this video that is WRONG. Nazi's were not socialist, the USA has never been classless,right-wing has nothing to do with liberty that's a different spectrum. Left-right spectrum has to do with hierarchical structures that's why in the original spectrum absolute monarchs were far right, constitutional monarchs were centr right, con. republicans were centre left etc.. But you don't even know were the left/right spectrum came from do you?
@yellowkrux You misunderstand your history. "The National Socialist Party" (Nazis) & Mussolini followed similar socialist policies. Economic fascism is the very definition of socialism: The ownership or control of the means of production. You also misunderstand the historical meaning of classism: it is NOT a statement that some are richer or poorer than others; that is always true. Classism is the enforced segmentation of the population into classes (e.g., apparatchiks, aristocrats, royalty).
@aliunde Mussolini as well as the Nazi party were fascist a philosophy diametrically opposed to socialism. You can keep saying they were socialist but they weren't, unless you change the definition of socialist specifically to include fascism, which renders these terms useless & obstructs the flow of information. Your understanding of class is incorrect as is your assumption of my understanding. & this new definition of left-right spectrum doesn't fit with the origin of of the terms.
@yellowkrux I thought that ownership & control *by the state* was implicitly understood, but I should have made it explicit. Socialism, defined, is the ownership or control of the means of production by the state.
Communism owns all corporations outright (though it always allowed a certain amount of private ownership; e.g., small plots for farming). Fascism does it through dictating what is to be produced by corporations rather than outright ownership. Democratic socialism does it both ways.
@aliunde In that case you're wrong. It's ownership AND control that makes socialism. Fascism is government control with private ownership, & in communism their is no state by definition. Again these terms exist for a reason, the only reason to redefine them is if you specifically wish to muddy the channels of communication & make it difficult to pass on information. Or you're just unbelievably retarded.
@yellowkrux Control IS ownership. It doesn't matter that you put someone else's name on the title. Trying to pretend they are somehow different is a difference w/o a distinction. They both socialize private property (i.e., appropriating its use for the state-defined "society"). It's why socialists in America supported the National SOCIALIST (aka fascist) movement before WWII. Mussolini was a committed socialist party member & changed banners to fascist socialism as a better vehicle to power.
@yellowkrux Again, it boils down to the? point of the video: Socialism in all its varieties (democratic, fascist, communist) is a means to government control over individuals. It's either the abrogation of individual rights thru totalitarian govt (i.e., those who exercise political power if you want to quibble with the word "government") or the complete absence of govt (which also does not protect rights). Constitutional republicanism that protects individual rights sits between the extremes.
@aliunde No again it boils down to you creating newspeak to make it difficult to pass on information. Fascism does not meet the requirements for socialism. If you hate the idea of the common man being able to discuss serious topics so mus\ch then fuck yourself, the rest of us are going to use the actual coherent definitions of words that have existed since before retards found out they could put anything on the internet & some idiots would believe it.
@yellowkrux The proper classification of the "left-right" spectrum is exactly what's under debate in the video. The left tries to disassociate themselves from the Nazis by claiming they are right wing. American socialists highly praised fascism before WWII. And racist policies towards Jews were equally at home in communist Russia. The degree of liberty is the proper left-right classification system as it provides a much more meaningful understanding of the differences between left & right.
@aliunde Actually it would be the right that's trying to dissociation themselves as evidence I present this video. Again the degree of liberty is not a good classification mainly because it ignores s the original left-right spectrum from the french revolution. Again the authoritarian-libertarian scale is superior for discussing liberty. The left-right spectrum traditionally deals with hierarchical structures including class systems. At least try to make your new definition fit with it's origin.
This EXCELLENT video exposes the main issue our Gov and it's political/corporate tentical is getting away with calling this whole charades "Democracy" / “Democracy is the road to Socialism” ~ Carl Marx
The author of this video should learn his terms. His description of a "republic" is the modern definition of a "liberal democracy." There are other liberal democracies in the world that are NOT republics. Another key hallmark of a liberal democracy is the Rule of Law, again, there are other nations that do have the Rule of Law but are NOT republics in any way.
No, lukecha88, that's not what this video 'says'. Perhaps you'd consider putting your rush to judgment on hold for a few minutes?
The 'extreme right' referred to in the video is talking about the 'scale' or 'spectrum' of governmental forms represented by the graphic. It is not referring to The Right or Right Wing political factions.
Not only is this presentation credible, it is direct and easily understood on an introductory level.
"The anarchists who created the problem then created government run by them, an oligarchy, where they have total power. This is exactly what happened in Russia..."
And at the beginning of the video we heard that anarchists are on the far right. So this video is saying that the Communist Bolsheviks who took over Russia were on the far right!?
@lukecha88 no, he said that the political spectrum is 'no government' on the right, 'total government' on the left. Anarchy is a transitional government that doesn't last. While I agree that this video is biased, by no means does it lose credibility according to your argument. By the way, the Bulsheviks actually had little to do with the revolution. Most of them were exiled by the czar. Look it up.
"The far right is no government, while the far left is total government". That is a misrepresentation of modern American politics. On an issue by issue bases, the left and right disagree on the government's involvement.
For example, the right wants the government to outlaw abortions, the left does not. The right wants to keep marijuana illegal, but it is considered extreme left wing to legalize it. The right wants the government to tell gays they can't marry each other, the left does not.
@krebul You misunderstood what was proposed, and that was that the old L/R spectrum is misleading and that a better way to view political ideology is to view political philosophy as one end being no govt and the other end being totalitarian or absolute govt. L/R is not applicable as either end can be made to represent total govt and the other no govt. Notice Fascism and Communism together at one end of the chart. The L&R just want control over different aspects of our society, not true liberty.
Entertaining video, but this is a gross misrepresentation. The author doesn't note, for example, that the U.S. Constitution replaced the catastrophic "limited government" under the Articles of Confederation, and that a desire to tax Americans directly & regulate interstate commerce were the two chief motivations behind the U.S. Constitution. The size & role of a government is not the issue; it is a government's internal structure - its checks & balances - which are the key to its success.
@AboveAllNations: The Constitution was one of strictly limited and enumerated powers. You need but read The Federalist Papers (authored by Madison, Jay, and Hamilton) to secure passage of the Constitution by the respective states) to understand that.
A quick quote: "The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite." --James Madison, Federalist No. 45
@AboveAllNations That's the concept submitted to the convention by George Mason. Reserving a perponderance of power to the states... but that's another subject that may be too broad for the scope of what the author was wanting to get into.
I think he was just trying to define and give a good understanding of what left and right are and assert the fact that we are a democratic republic.
@AboveAllNations It is most certainly the size of gov't that is the issue. When gov't power grows, freedom of the people recedes. This is proven by history and is not at all arguable.
@gnatpiz Conservatives called Lincoln a tyrant when he used an army to invade the South and liberate the slaves. Conservatives criticized the Supreme Court for judicial activism when it ordered Southern schools to desegregate. And conservatives filibustered when Congress passed the Civil Rights Act, which forbade discrimination by public AND private employers.
But the conservatives were wrong - bigger government has led to MORE freedom throughout American history. This is a fact.
@AboveAllNations They called Lincoln a tyrant because of the fact that he murdered thousands of Southern non-combatants while arresting thousands of his critics in the North. And bigger government does lead to MORE freedom, if you mean the freeedom for the masses to starve to death while rich politicians and their media and banker buddies wine and dine in luxurious mansions.
We can never find justice at the hands of corrupt judges. (See YouTube videos) Judge to Judge on Illegal Payments to Judges / Evil Triangle of Court Corruption / Richard Fine / Dr Shirley Moore /SBX 211. The fight to end this title wave of corruption in our country must start with the corrupt judges. We can not bring evidence of corruption to corrupt judges. Los Angeles Superior Court judges are illegally and unconstitutionally taking 50,000.00 each for a total of 23 million per year.
@BowlesI Put them in Jail. We have to vote these men out . Vote Ron Paul in for President ~ moderate Constitionalist, 2012 or sooner. Expose Obama and the rest for what they are ~ traitors. globe mag has already put 3 articles exposing Obama as an illegal President. This is something that everyone should know. Support Col. Latkin on his quest for the truth, hero to our Republic. is being court matial for refusing to serve another tour of duty unless BO can prove he is the legitimate President.
Dosen't matter what you say, this video is on the mark and makes total sense. People like whotookmypiewtf, BellaBarron, and goldenfrothystream are either to stupid to understand this video or they are shills that go around trying to degrade anything that might educate the masses to waking up, and notice the ones trying to discredit only shout things like, "this video is so inaccurate.", but offer no evidence to support thier claims. That my friends, is typical propaganda.

This has got to be the most hilarious proposition yet from the right, trying to distance themselves from Fascism. It's pretty funny how the author claims the traditional concept of left-right is wrong and then he places the right as meaning no govt and the left as meaning total govt. What a joke. Proceeding from that propagandized model of the political spectrum, leaves the rest of the proposal without legitimate standing.
@browndog2233 Thats not how the spectrum works, because to the far right is also social conservatism, meaning that the government and/or society have a role in encouraging or enforcing what they consider traditional values or behaviors based on the belief that these are what keep people civilized and decent.
@browndog2233 Far right politics involves supremacism, believing that superiority and inferiority are an innate reality for individuals and groups, and involves the complete rejection of the concept of social equality as a norm. Far right politics often supports segregation, and the separation of groups deemed to be superior from groups deemed to be inferior. THAT is why Fascism is to the far-right of the political spectrum.
Obviously you did not LISTEN to what the video was saying...Becasue it DID not agree with your preconceived notions. Why don't you just LISTEN some time?
@browndog2233 we have a republic if you can keep it. We didnt keep it and we dont have it. Everyone sayes its a democratic. We dont keep what we get becuase of taxes. And the constitution doesnt apply to us citizen becuase you gave they it up by contract. Only united states national has rights. You need to wake up , on far we have gone and stop being a 14th amendment citizen.
@MLBinwa Far right politics involves supremacism, believing that superiority and inferiority are an innate reality for individuals and groups, and involves the complete rejection of the concept of social equality as a norm. Far right politics often supports segregation, and the separation of groups deemed to be superior from groups deemed to be inferior. THAT is why Fascism is to the far-right of the political spectrum.

@MLBinwaAny credible website and you will see this political spectrum is wrong. The notion that far-right politics means no government and far-left politics include total government is completely false. The terms "left" and "right" appeared during the French Revolution of 1789 when members of the National Assembly divided into supporters of the king to the president's right (an authoritarian monarchy) and supporters of the revolution to his left. So its not the way I see it, it is the way it is.
@whotookmypiewtf You forget that during the French Revolution leftism and liberalism were still used in their classical sense, whereas the term "left" did an about-face in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
Im in the Military and Im also a Libertarian and I took an oath to defend the Constitution. But like the bible its meaning changes depending on the polititian or supreme court justice that reads it. Now we as Americans can have listening devices in our homes without warrant, or be assasinated without trial by this government. And all I can do with all of my training and weaponry is whisper..."please stop"
I have little to say, in the context, that you are willing to ignore the "Constitutionality of it". Where are we as a nation, when we can ignore the "constitutionality of it"? I completely understand the platforms of communism. I have been a student of history, and governments for 45 years, and still pursue the true libertarian ideals. I never mentioned Obama, but you apparently are not aware of his own collegiate record of teaching the redistribution of wealth ideology. It's his own admission
The educational system in our government run schools, has been gradually evolving over the years. Many of the educators are products of a communist/socialist curriculum. The materials used in the system have been edited, and redefined to suit that agenda. One has to go back 55 - 60 years to find more accurate scholastic materials. By that, I refer to public/government school materials. The dumbing down of America continues, and we are like a frog in water, slowly coming to a boil.
Sadly, our School Systems have too often structured the curriculum to suit a small minority's tainted views. Truth is so often obscure. Pass this link around in blogs and forums so we Americans can remember history. Or learn what others did not want us to know...
When was it not an oligarchy? The first 43 presidents of your nation are mostly either related or intermarried and lets not get started on the Senate. A country comprised of several different cultures, although the leadership of it seems to have only recently ever passed out of a few families. What does this tell you?
I agree deburts. Communism is primarily an economic system, opposite to capitalism with socialism in the middle. As explained in this video, Monarchy, Oligarchy, Democracy, Republic and Anarchy are systems of government. You can have a capitalist or communist Oligarchy.
@urb0123 Communism isn't an economic system. It's the abolishment of economics altogethere since communists don't believe in economizing or frugality, but istead just take what they want while redistributing the fruits of other people's labor. Hence why it more often appeals to the rich than the poor (or are you not aware of the fact that Karl Marx was a trust-fund baby his whole life and that John Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie both had FAR superiour working-class credentials that Marx.
My dear brother urb0123, we are closer to Communism hidden by propaganda. The peoples votes are mute. Arrests are made prior to sufficient evidence being gathered. Upon their will, taxes are set and wealth re-distributed as they see fit. Our children can be taken on basis of allegations with investigation to follow. If the truths were known, Revolution would be the call.
This isn't even an Oligrachy, my brother. We are treated like the mushrooms. I believe we are closer to Communism than we know. They hold false elections where the peoples vote does not truly count, they tax and re-distribute wealth as they please. We can be jailed before evidence is gathered and then they can change the charge altogether. Before any trial is held we can be punished. Our children can be taken on basis of allegations with investigations to follow.
@deburts777 "I believe we are closer to Communism than we know."
Now, I don't believe this is a bad thing on its own. Communism as an ideal isn't any worse than the ideal form of Capitalism. It'd be great if we had politicians who actually cared about redistributing wealth **fairly** and protecting the poor, but of course we know that isn't the case, "liberal" politicians don't like equality any more than the Bushes liked the free market. :(
@Madfoot713 : I cease to be amazed at those educated in our government run schools, who presume to understand the different forms of government. Firstly, capitalism is not a form of government, but rather an economic system that thrives in true freedom. We are a democratic republic, not a democracy..big difference. If you embrace redistribution of wealth, in any means not proscribed under our constitution, then you condone theft. Our constitution is our supreme law, and it is ignored constantly.
@swampcat1943 I am aware of all of that. If I had to assign myself a label, I would call myself a constitutional libertarian.
Ignoring the question of constitutionality, though, I don't believe there's anything inherently wrong with communism any more than I do that there's something inherently right with capitalism. Just as American "capitalism" isn't an example of a free market, the socialism you charge upon Obama isn't an example of redistribution of wealth.
The Roman Empire a free society...WHAT? Your are trying to prove your point and giving argument to that, but that's not the way to have a more or less objective view.

Can you truly say you are free?

robynhriley 6 months ago
This whole video is arguing semantics over archaic uses of some terms (like "democracy") and modern uses of others (like "republic"). Pure democracy is not a logistical option for any large nation today, so why spend so much time discussing it? Not all republics (ancient or modern) uphold the supremacy of law.
We have a democratic republic. There, semantic problem solved. That might also help to explain why our two main parties are named so generically.
prothonotar 6 months ago
That's bullshit. Lenin and Castro were NOT anarchists. Lenin was an outright Bolshevik which was a Communist/Socialist group of people who started a revolution to free themselves from the Czar. Castro also just wanted liberation for his people of Cuba. He was never an anarchist. He was also never an outspoken Communist, even though he was. He also made some mistakes when he came to power.
Hitler was just a dick. And he didn't start a revolution to come into power.
Open a book.
Josexylo9 6 months ago
@Josexylo9: You miss the point. The communists, incl. Lenin & Castro, USE anarchy as a tool. Totalitarian revolutions always seek to 1st undermine govt control (i.e., invite anarchy) so as to weaken it to the point that they can then usurp authority. You also have your history wrong. Lenin did not free Russia from the Czars (Russia had already freed itself from the Czars with the "February Revolution" of 1917 & had established the Russian Republic w/ elected representatives)--he re-enslaved it.
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde You make a valid point, but no. Lenin, Trotsky, and sadly douchebag Stalin let the February revolution with the bolsheviks. So technically yeah, he freed it from the Czars. He did not re-enslave Russia. He created the Soviet Union which worked fantastically great until he died. Then Stalin decided to be a douche, kicked Trotsky out, and THEN re-enslaved Russia. Lenin and Trotsy were not bad men.
And Communists do NOT use anarchy as a tool. Sorry man. Great points though!
Josexylo9 6 months ago
@Josexylo9 - You are confusing the October Revolution (also called the Bolshevik Revolution) with the February Revolution of the same year which preceded it. It was the February Revolution that ended the reign of the Czars and set up the Russian Republic with elected representatives. The Bolshevik Revolution (led by Lenin, et al.) overthrew the elected provisional government and set up a dictatorship under Lenin, resulting in the formation of the USSR.

Bobobaju 6 months ago
@Bobobaju A republic is defined by the fact that representatives are elected by the people who, in turn, pass laws that the democratic majority may or may not support. The Founders universally referred to us as a republic & warned of the dangers of democracy. The Pledge of Allegiance is "to the republic, for which it [the flag] stands." Our republic is specifically anti-democratic in many respects (e.g., an unelected judiciary, a bill of rights protecting minorities against majorities, etc).
aliunde 6 months ago
@Bobobaju A republic is sometimes called a "representative democracy" as at its foundation, the representatives are elected by the people.
aliunde 6 months ago
This vid naively glosses over the root cause of Rome's slip into an oligarchy & it's the same situation the US is in today. Rome fell because it was TOO free. We've all heard the mantra of a "free market economy," in other words, economic anarchy. It open's the door for huge economic disparities. As this reaches a critical mass people will demand from the government that which they can't get from their employers (swelling welfare state). If you want to limit government limit corporate freedom.
eyeammi 7 months ago
Additionally it doesn't discuss the mix of a republic and a pure democracy. Some countries and states have this. Since currently in our Republic turned oligarchy the few are oppressing the many, and in a pure democracy the many might oppress the few. Perhaps if we had a mix of both, it would be the right amount of checks and balances to minimize oppression.
kclaytor2 7 months ago
The thing that is missing is that in a pure democracy you could still have a constitution and bill of rights to govern what people are allowed to do.

Thanks for the video. I guess it explains pretty decently and succinctly the options, although I find it utterly incomplete. Could someone explain to me why we elect "democratically" our representatives, president included? Shouldn't that be done in some "other way" to prevent the problems inherent to democracy? The election of representatives still carries the same problems if done using the "democratic" model, so without democratic election, how could a representative be elected in a Republic?
freakqnc 10 months ago
@freakqnc: I think you misunderstand the distinction between a republic and a democracy. In a republic, the people vote for representatives who then carry out the functions of government for them (such as passing laws, judging, etc.). In a democracy, the people vote directly on the laws. They are also "judge, jury, and executioner." In the U.S., we have a constitutional republic which limits government powers & also protects the rights of individuals regardless of the desires of the majority.
aliunde 10 months ago
@aliunde The reason why some people define fascist as the far right is because of some property rights and racial supremacy(they point out that Communism advocates equality in wealth and people) but they don't realize that Nazi Germany and Italy imposed a nationalize companies and they tried to destroy jewish and Gypsy property
n64wilbert 7 months ago
@n64wilbert The reason why some people define fascist as far right is because they are not Americans. Nazis and fascist did impose some nationalized companies. But surely they never wanted to nationalize everything like Communist/Socialists wanted. Quite the opposite. They promoted corporatism.
Didn't know Gypsies actually owned property.
SloveintzWend 7 months ago 2
@n64wilbert Actuarial the reason why people define NAZIsm as far right wing is because they fit the definition of far right wing, ie very rigid class system.
yellowkrux 7 months ago
@yellowkrux: "Right wing" has nothing to do with classes. It is defined by a commitment to liberty. Economic freedom is why the U.S. was one of the first classless societies that ever developed in the world. People move dynamically between income levels in the U.S., including from rags to riches and riches to rags. The Nazis were socialists & cooperated w/ communist socialists to overthrow the German republic. Only upon consolidating power did they turn against their communist competitors.
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde You keep repeating shit from this video that is WRONG. Nazi's were not socialist, the USA has never been classless,right-wing has nothing to do with liberty that's a different spectrum. Left-right spectrum has to do with hierarchical structures that's why in the original spectrum absolute monarchs were far right, constitutional monarchs were centr right, con. republicans were centre left etc.. But you don't even know were the left/right spectrum came from do you?
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@yellowkrux You misunderstand your history. "The National Socialist Party" (Nazis) & Mussolini followed similar socialist policies. Economic fascism is the very definition of socialism: The ownership or control of the means of production. You also misunderstand the historical meaning of classism: it is NOT a statement that some are richer or poorer than others; that is always true. Classism is the enforced segmentation of the population into classes (e.g., apparatchiks, aristocrats, royalty).
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde Mussolini as well as the Nazi party were fascist a philosophy diametrically opposed to socialism. You can keep saying they were socialist but they weren't, unless you change the definition of socialist specifically to include fascism, which renders these terms useless & obstructs the flow of information. Your understanding of class is incorrect as is your assumption of my understanding. & this new definition of left-right spectrum doesn't fit with the origin of of the terms.
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@yellowkrux The definition of socialism is the ownership or control of the means of production. That precisely defines economic fascism.
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde That definition of socialism covers socialism, fascism & capitalism. So again you've rendered the term useless.
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@yellowkrux I thought that ownership & control *by the state* was implicitly understood, but I should have made it explicit. Socialism, defined, is the ownership or control of the means of production by the state.
Communism owns all corporations outright (though it always allowed a certain amount of private ownership; e.g., small plots for farming). Fascism does it through dictating what is to be produced by corporations rather than outright ownership. Democratic socialism does it both ways.
aliunde 6 months ago
Comment removed
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@aliunde In that case you're wrong. It's ownership AND control that makes socialism. Fascism is government control with private ownership, & in communism their is no state by definition. Again these terms exist for a reason, the only reason to redefine them is if you specifically wish to muddy the channels of communication & make it difficult to pass on information. Or you're just unbelievably retarded.
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@yellowkrux Control IS ownership. It doesn't matter that you put someone else's name on the title. Trying to pretend they are somehow different is a difference w/o a distinction. They both socialize private property (i.e., appropriating its use for the state-defined "society"). It's why socialists in America supported the National SOCIALIST (aka fascist) movement before WWII. Mussolini was a committed socialist party member & changed banners to fascist socialism as a better vehicle to power.
aliunde 6 months ago
@yellowkrux Again, it boils down to the? point of the video: Socialism in all its varieties (democratic, fascist, communist) is a means to government control over individuals. It's either the abrogation of individual rights thru totalitarian govt (i.e., those who exercise political power if you want to quibble with the word "government") or the complete absence of govt (which also does not protect rights). Constitutional republicanism that protects individual rights sits between the extremes.
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde No again it boils down to you creating newspeak to make it difficult to pass on information. Fascism does not meet the requirements for socialism. If you hate the idea of the common man being able to discuss serious topics so mus\ch then fuck yourself, the rest of us are going to use the actual coherent definitions of words that have existed since before retards found out they could put anything on the internet & some idiots would believe it.
yellowkrux 6 months ago
@yellowkrux The proper classification of the "left-right" spectrum is exactly what's under debate in the video. The left tries to disassociate themselves from the Nazis by claiming they are right wing. American socialists highly praised fascism before WWII. And racist policies towards Jews were equally at home in communist Russia. The degree of liberty is the proper left-right classification system as it provides a much more meaningful understanding of the differences between left & right.
aliunde 6 months ago
@aliunde Actually it would be the right that's trying to dissociation themselves as evidence I present this video. Again the degree of liberty is not a good classification mainly because it ignores s the original left-right spectrum from the french revolution. Again the authoritarian-libertarian scale is superior for discussing liberty. The left-right spectrum traditionally deals with hierarchical structures including class systems. At least try to make your new definition fit with it's origin.

Good bye credibility.
lukecha88 1 year ago
@lukecha88 no, he said that the political spectrum is 'no government' on the right, 'total government' on the left. Anarchy is a transitional government that doesn't last. While I agree that this video is biased, by no means does it lose credibility according to your argument. By the way, the Bulsheviks actually had little to do with the revolution. Most of them were exiled by the czar. Look it up.
palorius 1 year ago
"The far right is no government, while the far left is total government". That is a misrepresentation of modern American politics. On an issue by issue bases, the left and right disagree on the government's involvement.
For example, the right wants the government to outlaw abortions, the left does not. The right wants to keep marijuana illegal, but it is considered extreme left wing to legalize it. The right wants the government to tell gays they can't marry each other, the left does not.
krebul 1 year ago
@krebul The problem is neither are going by what the Constitution grants us~ freedom to decide for ourselves on these matters. Not the government!
deec269 1 year ago
@krebul You misunderstood what was proposed, and that was that the old L/R spectrum is misleading and that a better way to view political ideology is to view political philosophy as one end being no govt and the other end being totalitarian or absolute govt. L/R is not applicable as either end can be made to represent total govt and the other no govt. Notice Fascism and Communism together at one end of the chart. The L&R just want control over different aspects of our society, not true liberty.
ddgallion 1 year ago
Entertaining video, but this is a gross misrepresentation. The author doesn't note, for example, that the U.S. Constitution replaced the catastrophic "limited government" under the Articles of Confederation, and that a desire to tax Americans directly & regulate interstate commerce were the two chief motivations behind the U.S. Constitution. The size & role of a government is not the issue; it is a government's internal structure - its checks & balances - which are the key to its success.
AboveAllNations 1 year ago
@AboveAllNations: The Constitution was one of strictly limited and enumerated powers. You need but read The Federalist Papers (authored by Madison, Jay, and Hamilton) to secure passage of the Constitution by the respective states) to understand that.
A quick quote: "The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite." --James Madison, Federalist No. 45
aliunde 1 year ago 8
@AboveAllNations That's the concept submitted to the convention by George Mason. Reserving a perponderance of power to the states... but that's another subject that may be too broad for the scope of what the author was wanting to get into.
I think he was just trying to define and give a good understanding of what left and right are and assert the fact that we are a democratic republic.
fuzzywuzy 1 year ago

Ten minutes.
Ten minutes is all it takes to learn the truth and stop our nation from becoming an oligarchy.
Wish we could air this all over the u.s

@AliceGoBoom
When was it not an oligarchy? The first 43 presidents of your nation are mostly either related or intermarried and lets not get started on the Senate. A country comprised of several different cultures, although the leadership of it seems to have only recently ever passed out of a few families. What does this tell you?

"Those who define Fascists as right wing never define their terms."
That's not true. Check out the 14 Points of Fascism
1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism
2. Disdain for the importance of human rights
3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause
4. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism
5. Rampant sexism
6. A controlled mass media

@MrXfromPlanetX "3. Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause"
I don't think that this one, at least, is unique to facism. Not by a long shot. :)

7. Obsession with national security
8. Religion and ruling elite tied together
9. Power of corporations protected
10. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated
11. Disdain and suppression of intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment

I agree deburts. Communism is primarily an economic system, opposite to capitalism with socialism in the middle. As explained in this video, Monarchy, Oligarchy, Democracy, Republic and Anarchy are systems of government. You can have a capitalist or communist Oligarchy.

Only if you are using a system other than true unblemished capitalism and calling it capitalism, as in our current system.
SaintEntreri 2 years ago

Our constitution is our supreme law, and it is ignored constantly.
swampcat1943 2 years ago 5
@swampcat1943 I am aware of all of that. If I had to assign myself a label, I would call myself a constitutional libertarian.
Ignoring the question of constitutionality, though, I don't believe there's anything inherently wrong with communism any more than I do that there's something inherently right with capitalism. Just as American "capitalism" isn't an example of a free market, the socialism you charge upon Obama isn't an example of redistribution of wealth.

We will not end up with an Oligarchy, we already have one here in the U.S. and have had one for at least 50 years.

Wow... great video! Very clear and easy to understand. They should show this in schools.
