My 2001 Cadillac Seville SLS runs 0-60 in 7 seconds flat with the detuned Northstar LD8 (275 hp, 300 tq). It does so completely stock. I have plans to replace the twin-tip dual mufflers in the rear with single-tipped mufflers with chrome pipe tips for that muscle look. I plan on doing mostly intake and exhaust work, then getting nicer tires. That alone and my Caddy is good to roll. Nice Lincoln run by the way. I love powerful luxury cars :)
Fuck ricers, but with all due respect, take a chillaxative. Arguing is a bit annoying. Regarding FWD, I like it. But, then again, all the cars I've owned have been FWD and that's what I'm comfortable with. Each form has its own advantages and disadvantages, and each can be made to go above and beyond what one would think with a little skill and perhaps time and money.
so your cadillac in ur video is gunna beat this mark viii pff okay cadillac gets blown out by lincoln year after year looking at the new lincoln mks 355 hp 25 mpg yeaa beasted again
First of all, I never said anything about my Cadillac beating a Lincoln Mark VIII, though I think it'd be a good race. I was stating facts and plans for MY car. Second, my best 0-60 so far is actually 6.6-6.8 seconds, with 0-90 in ~13 seconds.
a good race? r u kidding me ur a second behind u no what that is in a draG? alot of car legnths and dude my gtp and my 98 mark viii will smash you all day long
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
a 2000 and no u didnt haha any gtp stock would smoke you my gtp runs 13 flat on 1/4 stage 3 ported blower 3.4 pulley all supporting mods pcm tuned computer zzp exhaust yea thats lightly modded u wnna go heavy talk to the guys who decided to turbo the beasts
It was the same generation as yours, but I based the fact that he was modded by the fact that his supercharger was much more audible than a stock one. Furthermore, we DID race (from a roll) and I was pulling on him the whole time. I've also beaten OTHER Northstar Caddies in my races for some reason, but they either weren't running right or mine is just a bit faster than most others (factory freak, maybe?). Generally-speaking, GTPs have good take-offs compared to my car, but I win from a roll
Hey you never know, maybe you do have factory freak....lol...but yea...you really can't compare the speed of each car just by running these types of videos side by side. There are many variables involved and going to the track would be the best. Hoping to go soon but its 2 hrs away....lol
@parksbeast ive owned a gtp and a mark viii; no doubt the gtp would win the 1/8th mile but in the 1/4 the mark viii would easily win. Even though the gtp only has 240bhp and it has shorter gearing making it seem faster the mark viii would win when aerodynamics took effect. Also if we had a similar setup to a gtp like a compressor than we would be pulling 400hp easily
@svtlincoln perhaps I should rephase my previous statement... My 93 mark 8 beats my 98 gtp in the quarter mile by a car length and the gtp beats the mark 8 in the 1/8 by around a car and a half. The mark 8 has 220,000km and gtp has 165,000km on the clock. Both are totally stock except for the same type of cone air filters. I cannot access my other account so im responding from this account fyi. The gtp has GT altimax hp tires and mark 8 has Bridgestone turanza serenity tires of the same size.
A friend of mine has a '99 GTP coupe with Thrasher CAI and SLP Loudmouth exhaust. His car only has 62k miles on it. We go to the track almost every weekend in the spring and summer. His best times are when he power brakes his car, doing that, his best time ever was a 14.91 @ 93.35 in the 1/4 mile. I have the time slip because I was lined up next to him in my vette. On average, he runs 15.0-15.1 @ 92-93 with an intake and exhaust, everything else stock. -14.6 w/a s/c pulley maybe.
That's totally true. That makes a big difference. When I was out in Montana driving at about 6,000 feet my car felt so much slower. Same thing when it's hot outside vs the cold... Big difference there too. And every track is different with different conditions like you said.
Oh, and anyone can pick a much higher-powered car and claim master of the road, not to mention that the new Lincoln MKS is not a part of this conversation. Only women go about bringing up irrelevant things when they have nothing good to say. That was a rather immature comment to make.
my did had a 94 mark eight and it was slam 2nd gear at 60 and bark the tires. but he said it slipped once and the next day we serviced the tranny and all was well
your timing of 5.9sec is off since as soon as i hit play the car is already rolling... the car is basically stock so let's add bout a second to that time. and do another from a dead stop... not from a roll
I started the timing when the needle in the dash moved from 0 mph. It is not from a roll. Also this doesn't mean that the car does 0-60 in 5.9s, just that the speedometer says so. Not very accurate.
doesn't matter, it was still already rolling. I have a mark viii that is also modded. and even a 2 mph roll is better then from a dead stop. plus the poster of this vid admits to the timing/speedo not being accurate, see his comment right above yours. Mark 8's need gears and a posi to get that 0-60 time down. a fuel pump and exhaust ain't gonna lower the fac time by over a second. plus he says 0-60 in 5.9 and 0-80 in 10.1... pretty big gap there for 20mph when the DOHC 4.6 is in its power band.
revolutionday1 is a fag. he obviously does not own a mark viii and his gay buddies car prolly does the same thing thats why he THINKS there is nothin wrong. noob prolly doesnt even know what a j-mod is...
Hi¡¡ I HAVE A MARK VIII 94 TOO (see my videos)and i wanna mods, what fuel pump do you use?and are you most modificated anithing more for use it?your injector are stock?
Keep shifting like that and say bye-bye to the transmission. It doesn't have to be a ridiculously hard shift like some people have, mine is quick but smooth. You do NOT want the trans to slip like that in gear changes.
Blah blah blah. Dude, quite fucking frankly, I don't really see anything "wrong" in the video. Nor do I see anything really "slipping". My buddy has a Mark VIII and this looks basically like how his shifts. Shut your ass up, and quit pretending to "know shit" about cars, because you obviously don't.
Just because you don't see anything wrong with it doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with it. Usually people who don't know anything keep quiet so they don't embarrass themselves. Looks like you're not one of them. Let me know when your buddies Mark VIII needs a rebuilt trans. I'll still be driving mine.

"7 yr old"? That's funny. Considerin' how you're 22, & I'm 26. Not to mention the fact that I hold an Automotive Technology degree (specializing in steering & suspension/chassis systems). Yup. I guess you got me cold.
I will have to agree with strykerV8. When the car shifts, you can feel then trans. kind of lagging. Once I chip it(I don't if its possible on the OB1)or JMOD, it will grab on to the next gear quickly instead of grinding it like it does right now.
