@fueledbyelisabeth nobody from the cast ever said the show is scripted. Audrina said on Chelsea Lately that there is no script and they're just put into situations. Obviously, the production can build up situations or instigate reactions, plus they use editing heavily to build a story. It's semi-reality, in all fairness.

Soooo true! I was wondering the same thing. How did Stacy the bartender end up friends with Kristin? The show is so blatantly orchestrated it's ridiculous. I think Kristen admitted that she would never hang out with any of the Hills cast if she wasn't on the show. The way it was portrayed on the show, Heidi had just met them and offered to babysit. I wouldn't let my child stay with a stranger just because they offered to babysit.
