I think there are round 40 Muslim countries - those with approx. 90% Muslim majority, those which regard themselves as part of the Muslim world. I think there are round 40 Muslim countries - those with approx. 90% Muslim majority, those which regard themselves as part of the Muslim world. How Islamic they are I guess is dependent on the exact interpretation of Islam you happen to follow. Galloway supports Ahmedinejad in Iran, Assad in Syria (doesn't look like he's loved so much these days), Nazrallah in Lebanon as well as Hamas in Palestine - these are all Fascistic and violent in their approach to both domestic and foreign policy.

But he also knows that if he said he was a Muslim he would loose credibility in the eyes of those who see religious belief as irrational, and as result his views might be seen as irrational - which of course they are. He may not like gambling and drinking, but they are far more acceptable to most people than arranged marriages, veils and homophobia - ideas that seem now to have found favor with Galloway.
