I don't use belts for the reasons you describe at the beginning of your video. However after watching your video I now want to start using a belt. Can you elaborate on what you mean when you said that we have to learn how to to use our abdominal muscles to take advantage of the belt?
To utilise the benefits of a belt you do not just strap one on and expect it to make lifts bigger and back safer. The belt is there to give something for your abs to push against so you can maintain much greater abdominal pressure than you would do without a belt. You should already be using abdominal pressure even without a belt, but it just works a lot better when you have a belt to push against.
I have come to a similar conclusion. I generally use the belt for the last warmup set and the work sets when I am squatting, overhead pressing, and the like.
@Nauticus89 In addition to your back, if your abs are not that strong your prone to injury with or without the belt.

I was always told belts were best used only when handling heaviest work loads, otherwise you can weaken your core. Great bit of information.

@chulo1022 well, you DON'T wanna use a belt for working at a local department store or hardware store.

Local department store or hardware store?? I work at neither? I was talking about heaviest lifts (squats, dead lifts etc.)

@chulo1022 ur missing the point. it is only "ok" to use a belt during heavy lifts.

After a serious back injury I stopped using belts. Never looked back.

@kraftsportNO Your back muscles contract isometrically with or without the belt, it's just as possible to injure it either way.
